💙🩵Alfie the Chihuahua mix🩵💙
Alfie’s owners rehomed him as a mixed breed dog, they’ve already put in masses of work before coming to me for training, including discovering one of the many breeds he’s mixed with - a chihuahua🐕
Alfie & his owners needed a bit of help with leash walking and reactivity so that’s exactly what we done! Alfie was giving a beautiful loose leash by the end of our first session and even walking past other reactive dogs with not a care in the world😇
This boy has a bright future ahead of him with fantastic owners leading the way✨
🖤🔥Harry the Boxer🔥🖤
Harry had his first 121 session last week, he’s a 4 year old boxer dog with reactivity issues.
The first thing we needed to do was fix that leash walking🦮 He was being walked on a harness (as can be seen in the picture above) which aloud him to pull ahead and throw his body weight about when he seen a dog (particularly black dogs). His owners had no communion with him.
His owners are also expecting to grow their little family this year👶 So it’s essential we get this behaviour under control✅
Cannot wait to see his progress🤩🤩

Another spaniel🤩🤩 Anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE working with all types of spaniels🐶
Roxy is a 13 week old working cocker, she is bonkers as you can imagine🤪 I’ve worked with Roxy’s owner with precious dogs and now it’s time to lay the foundations with this gorgeous new pup.

❌ It’s Selfish & Dangerous❌
The number one responsibility that comes with dog ownership is training, basic commands, recall, socialisation, lead walking etc. A lot of people think these basic skills are skill of an advanced dog but really this should be standard across the board..
And in fact, not bothering to train your dog basic life skills is ignorant and can end up becoming dangerous in some situations..

First 1-2-1 back with the lovely Thia this afternoon⚡️
Thia and her owners have been working with me for some time, her owners got her as an slightly older puppy and started puppy foundations with me (also fixing some habits created from being passed around from previous owners), they then went on to train scentwork with me and I hear she’s doing absolutely fantastic with this🤩
Today we looked at:
- How to deal with reactivity to the door
- How to deal with excitement with visitors
- Barking in the garden
- Drop command
& more!!
This is probably the nuttiest show cocker I’ve met😆 We’re not quite convinced she’s a full show cocker. Although that being said, her owners do fantastic with her and have great patience with this 1 year old crazy cocker spaniel.
Don’t be fooled in thinking that show cockers are easy👀

💯Dont Compare What You Do With Your Dog To Others💯
A lot of dog owners have forgotten why they got a dog in the first place and I think a lot of that comes down to social media. It’s so very easy to compare ourselves to others and the same goes for our dogs and what we as dog owners do for them.
💚 Do activities that you and your dog enjoy doing, don’t invest into something because social media says you should.
🖤 Every dog is different, no two dogs should be compared. Even dogs from the same litter, owned by the same people.
💚 You also shouldn’t compare yourself as a dog owner/handler to the next person. They may have 10 years experience on you and have worked super hard to get to where they’ve got to. Instead take inspiration✨

As a dog trainer, I’d like to think that my own personal dog is pretty well balanced ⚖️ But she’s not a robot and far from perfect! One thing she still struggles with, and has actually got worse, is visiting the groomers ✂️ So I’m always trying my best to stay on top of making groomers visits as calm and positive as possible🤞🏼

⁉️What is the point⁉️ I’m the first person to admit I’m far from a perfect dog owner and I could do more for her, particularly throughout pregnancy and becoming a new mum, I definitely lost my spark a bit. But I’m slowly finding it back🤞🏼 One thing we’ve never lost is our relationship which is 100% aided by what time, energy & effort I put into her. The more fun we have, the more our relationship grows📈 The more we do together, our relationship ship grown📈 The more positive experiences we have together, our relationship grows📈 What is the point in having a dog if you don’t do any of these things & have a genuine, solid relationship with your dog😴
🗣️ Reactivity Training 🗣️ Yes this is the results for a very anxious reactive poodle in one 60 minute session but this behaviour will not be automatically fixed after one session. The owner must: ✅ Follow the training plan ✅ Be consistent ✅ Be transparent with their trainer Otherwise old behaviours will quickly make a return❌ 121 training now available to book, DM to enquire📩

It’s nice to show short little stories of the dogs but in reality that only captures the perfect moments! So here’s a little video of me getting the dogs out of the car today. We have Olive, Honey & 11 month old Ozzy🤎🤍🧡 There were several other in control dogs in the car park at the time, a couple of lurcher type dogs and some frenchies too. Olive wasn’t too happy with one of the lurchers saying hi, but she made a great decision to remove herself✅ Mr Ozzy, typical excitable young dog, cheekily sniffing at Honey (today was actually their first time meeting). Honey is an unbothered queen! But of course I stepped in for her and showed Ozzy to be respectful of other dogs space, especially if they show no interest back✋🏼 And lastly got himself a bit excited at the very polite frenchies at the other side of the car park. Again just showing him the desirable behaviour which is calmness when we see other dogs, not play time etc. A realistic scenario of how I unload dogs from the car. Sometimes it’s not as “hectic” as this and I put the words hectic in quotation marks because it’s of course far from hectic and the dogs are amazing! But I’ll admit that I’d prefer for it to be a bit neater than this but with distractions & a dog in training in the equation, it can’t always go as smoothly as I’d like! Dogs doing me proud as always though, even on those messier days☺️🌟
