FOR THE SCOTTISH SUMMER
After getting drenched again today 🙄 🌧 whilst wearing my brand new Trespass waterproof jacket I thought it's time to try a boil in the bag rubber one to see if that keeps me any drier.
£45 from Tesco (Duloch) they have 3 colours, cream (my fav, but not practical), khaki (good for hiding from the dogs 😉 🤣) and the more practical blue (hide the muddy pawprints🐕🐾). Fingers crossed 🤞.

Wee Vinnie's first walk with the Waggys'. He's very cute. He had a tentative start but that didn't last. Good job his Mummy is a hairdresser as he was needing a wee shampoo and set after getting a bit soggy 🤣.

2 Cocker Spaniels and a Cockapoo (Coop, Bailey and Barney) up Craigluscar Hill.
Can't believe being a trail runner I've never went up there before it's absolutely gorgeous. From the top you can see the 3 Bridges and the Pentlands.
Love is in the air, every sight and every sniff.
Miss Buttons from In Ruff Company whose normally quite indifferent to the other dogs met DJ and was mesmerised ❤️ by his coolness 😎 🤣.

FOUND this morning 🙌 after a long night of stress for everyone involved. Poor wee doggie must be knackered.

Very hot today so I took the afternoon Waggys to St Ninians. Loch out of bounds due to the algae, so we went to the wee lochan on the east side. Lucky Lottie ate some of the tadpoles from the water 🙈.
Bumped into a new walker Jack's Pack whose just started out.
The Waggys were lucky today.
I lost a key which was found by Hannie's Hounds 💗. Lucky Lottie found a ball, again🤣.
Ozzie got two walks cos I didn't have time to take him home as I was running late all day!
We got to walk with In Ruff Company up the Dean Plantation and everyone was cheesing.

St Margaret's Marsh this afternoon. Rarely go there as my dogs love swimming in the Manky Marsh, but today they had their listening ears 👂on 😃 🙌.
Paddling up the woods and sniffing grass, it's a dugs life 🥰.

Sunshine and showers ☀️🌦🌈 but that didn't dull the Waggy Crews' spirit this afternoon.

To mark my 50th year I planned to run 4 ultra marathons and to donate my hair to charity. I've been encouraged to make my suffering meaningful so here it is:-
1. February 2023 - Falkirk 7 Hour Ultra - Completed.
2. 13th May, 2023 - Cateran Trail 55
3. 17th June, 2023 - West Highland Way Race (95 miles) the furthest and hardest run I'll ever have participated in.
4. Devil O the Highlands (42 miles) August 2023.
5. September 2023 - Donate my hair to charity😱!
Here's the why.
WILLIE'S STORY
Willie was my grandpa he died of lung cancer. He was a quiet man, who worked hard to provide for his family of eight. He loved animals and had many pets being particularly proud of his tropical fish. He was also a very keen gardener and had a grapevine in his greenhouse for years. It never produced any grapes until the summer he died, he never got to see them.
The last time I saw my grandpa alive he was very, very ill and only had days to live. I went to say my goodbyes to him. He held out his hand for me to take but I was too scared to touch him as his illness frightened me (I was just a kid). That's a regret I carry with me.
THE WHY
I'm doing this so folk like Willie can see their grapes harvest, tend to their fish and so their grandchildren aren't scared to give them a cuddle when its time for them to go.
HYLDA'S STORY
Hylda was my mum's sister. She was beautiful, vibrant and great fun. She was the mother of three, stepmother of three and had many grandchildren. She was adored by her family.
In the December she had been a bit sick but just thought she'd picked up a bug from her grandson but the whites of her eyes had turned yellow. On going to the doctor she found out quickly that she had pancreatic cancer and was told it was too advanced for treatment apart from pain relief. Pancreatic cancer is one of the worst cancers you can have, the survival rate is very low. Hylda suffered badly and battled hard but the cancer took her 6 weeks before her youngest daughter's wedding.
THE WHY
I'm doing this so folk like Hylda can make their daughter's wedding. Meet all their grandchildren and see them grow up.
RAMSAY'S STORY
Ramsay is my eldest brother. He volunteers locally by helping at the Samaritan's Charity Shop and also helps tend the gardens at the local Womens' Prison.
I joke with him that he's the 4th Emergency Service to his friends and family as he's always doing good deeds for them.
In January this year he had blood in his urine. He got quickly diagnosed with bladder cancer. He was treated in February. The treatment would appear to have been successful so far.
THE WHY
I'm doing this so folk like Ramsay can continue to be there for others and volunteer for their community.
Please donate cos the reality is that cancer will be knocking at the door of someone you love ❤️. Let's work together to beat it 🤞.

Met a family whilst out walking who have 5 labradoodle puppies for sale. They do have criteria for rehoming as they're responsible owners.

Hamish came to play with the Waggys whilst auntie Kirsten Summit Dog Walking & Adventure Days was busy. Sadie and Lottie were smitten but Jess was acting all casual 🤣.
After today's walk I'm changing my name to "Muddy Millar's" 🤯. Managed to take them home looking reasonably respectable. See comments for more photos. Meanwhile Amanda In Ruff Company lot were looking demure in comparison!

DOGWATCH FIFE - Delighted to have been inspected by Jacqui Leigh from Fife Council who came bearing gifts for passing the criteria. Dogwatch is similar to Trusted Trader minus the Disclosure Scotland check (I did that voluntarily). I'd recommend being part of the scheme as although it doesn't prevent incidents from occurring etc following their conditions helps minimise the risks.
