Fairly chuffed with the colouring on the black bantams this year from the “work in progress” c**k breeder line, the desired beetle green sheen. There is still a hint of purple but nothing like the foundation stock were in 2020

Bred by Dickie Curruthers, 3 new stock birds in for this years breeding plans…

- First to be used on blue and white Pullets (pullet breeding line)

-Second to be used to make a male breeding line of whites. Pairing him up with a Dennis Ash line pullet I’ve running about who never finished well enough for exhibiting, although she’s good type and a clean correct upright comb.

-Third to be used on two brown Pullets in hope to produce piles which then will be crossed back onto the browns. The aim is to improve type and headgear in my browns.

I’ve not introduced fresh blood into my whites since 2018 so these will be an asset.

Large Blue leghorn. Just starting to mature now, kept four back to see how they finish, dark and light. One of my proudest ventures was recreating these in the uk, the large were non existent since the early 2000s

Black leghorn bantam male. There's still a lot of work yet too meet the proper exhibition standard for black males. They've come close to being jet black with correct undercolour but they still need more character and type.
