Now Open!!! SquishyDog Grooming is a home salon based in Mersington, just outside of Leitholm, with easy access to the A697. The purpose build salon will work solely on a 1-2-1 basis to ensure a relaxing and enjoyable grooming experience. I can cater for dogs of all sizes and my past 9 years experience gives me the expertise to work with dogs from all behaviour backgrounds. I am fully insured, trained and even have an award or two! I started grooming when I was just 13 working part time on weekends before eventually opening my own salon in Newcastle in 2014. Voted in the ‘Top 3 Grooming Salons in North Tyneside’ two years in a row I was sad to leave it all behind when I moved up to the Scottish Borders but excited for my new venture!

The name SquishyDog comes from my wonderful 4 year old German Shepherd called Vienna, or nicknamed Squishy! Vienna has grown up in the salon and really is friends to all; she mothers puppies who need support on their first visits, plays with the hyper ones, calms the nervous ones and even helps soothe the angry ones! Her nickname is very true as poor Vienna suffers from a rather squished up face. She was sadly stood on as a baby by her mother which broke her nose leaving her with a very twisted and shortened muzzle. Vets were unsure if she would make it but she proven them all wrong and not only has she survived but she has thrived in life! My salon is dedicated to her
