We had a lovely day at South West Whippet Club Champ Show yesterday with Cyril and Sampson both placing well with 3rds in Post Graduate Dog and Novice Dog respectively, qualifying again for Crufts 2025 🤩.

I always try to ensure the days are fun for the dogs too and here are the boys enjoying a well earned post-show walk at nearby Bannerdown Common 🤗.

Nothing in the breed classes at WELKS Champ Show today for Stormida, but then Sampson
(Stormida Neon Tiger) went and won a large AV Hound/Terrier Special Beginners class under Judge Steve Atkinson!

A fab day in great company as always and some really heart warming winners. Well done to all and thanks to Catherine Tristram for the laughs and the vids! 🤗

💙💚 Stormida The Brave 💚💙

Not to be outdone by his little brother's Crufts exploits, it was Cyril's turn to be star of the show today with a well earned win in Post Graduate Dog at the Houndshow Open and then going on to finish Reserve Best Dog in Breed in the challenge. Get in Big C! 😃🤩🤗

I've been sent this wonderful video by Dave Ford of his lovely dog Logan's final show at Crufts. It gives a great insight into the what goes on in the background of the show, before you get to what you see on TV in the main arena. It's a great watch.

Excitingly for us, he picked our class 'Junior Dog' to use to explain the process, so Sampson and I feature quite heavily from around 8 mins 30. We're on first, so we're far left of shot. You can just about see how shocked I was when we won - I couldn't work out what was happening 😂.

Well yesterday might just have been the perfect Stormida day! 💙💚

Margot won Best Bitch Puppy and Best Puppy in Show at the National Whippet Association Open Show, perfectly capped off by sharing the stage with her Grandad Fred who won Best Veteran in Show and spending the day with his owner and my dear friend Sarah Oxana 🤗 These shows can go on for hours but it always whizzes by in Sarah's wonderful company!

Probably my favourite moment of the day was when a group of us let our dogs off in the carpark for zoomies after the show. Seeing them playing and relishing their natural speed makes my heart soar! My phone camera isn't quick enough to capture that but hopefully some to follow...

If that wasn't my whippet fix complete, it was then a quick stop off on the way home to visit Cyril's latest litter and his first with blues in it. It felt quite magical letting myself in for cuddles with these little snoozy bundles and thinking of all the joy they're going to bring to some lucky owners in their lives 🥰🤗❤️

As I said at the show yesterday, my only regret is that it took me so many years to find this wonderful breed. Such special little people 🤗

Cyril and Lyla's puppies are turning out to be real crackers. I went to see them last week and I couldn't be more pleased! Great job Lyla and Jo! 🤗😃 Cyril is turning out to be an excellent stud dog and really throwing his quality pedigree into his pups! 🥰

It's been a busy couple of months for Stormida on the Champ Show circuit and we're delighted with some lovely placings for all our home-breds, which means they're all now qualified for Crufts 2024! 🎊🎈🎉

Topped off with our first ever double red on the same day for Cyril and Margot at the Midland Whippet Club Open Show! 🎈🎈

Despite having novice me as a handler (and yes I now see I need to work on my game face 😂), they're all trying their best and we couldn't be prouder of our little team. 💙💚

So chuffed with little Margot today at only her third Show. She won Best Puppy in Breed, Reserve Best in Breed and then went on to finish 2nd of 12 in Hound Group Puppy (this is a class against all the other puppies who have won Best Puppy in their breeds) - such a little star 🤩

It has been such a privilege getting to know these boys over the last year and I can't lie, seeing Rudi get excited when he sees me feels a bit like a celebrity knowing your name! 😂
Fred turned 7 this week which means he is now eligible for Veteran classes and I just know he's going to set the ring ablaze! Go Fred!! 😍

A great day out for The Storm today at The Whippet Club Championship Show! A 4th and a 5th (in big classes) for the pups at their first show (at just 6 months old today), and a lovely surprise 1st place in Maiden Dog for our main man, Cyril! 😍
We're all going to sleep well tonight! 😴😴😴 Love these little monkeys so much! ❤️
