ARTHUR
Super sensible 14.1hh 9yo coloured cob gelding- weight carrying type and takes up the leg well - very stocky!
Arthur has the best nature, very laid back He is easy to handle & good to do in all ways- no vices
He lives in or out, happy alone or in company- keeps himself to himself
Ridden by children and adults, he is steady, safe and sensible in the school and to hack, alone or in company and in open spaces
Good in traffic
Snaffle mouthed at all times
He is just a lovely character and will make a fun family pony, happy hacker or even show type with more work in the school, as he is a super smart, correct type - a good home is essential!
He is clean limbed
Up to date with teeth, farrier (shod in front), vaccinations

Duchess made her first appearance today. First time travelling. First time in the ring. She comes home with 1st and reserve champion. Could not be happier with this little mate she behaved like an old pro. The best 3 year old pony😍😍

While most weekends are been taking up showjumping with Eric at the moment there is still a lot of work been done behind the sense.
great to be able to get back on the grass doing flat work rather than in the indoor school although the indoor has been a god send with the rain we have been getting.
Duke is getting ready for a very busy summer with some lovely shows lined up for him. His showing season kicks of on the 25th of may at Northumberland county show so 🤞for that.
Dutches is now broke in and riding away lovely her first time on grass and as you can see she was not a bit of bother, and she is showing to be a very nice horse so excited to see how she keeps progressing.
Then we have little Finn he’s just with me for some schooling livery also his first time having to do flat work on grass, he’s such a sweet little fella.

Home from a very long day at summerford park, first time I have been.
Dukes second time ever at cross country schooling. Very please with him. He is one very sleepy boy now tucked up in bed.

We had a lovely yard visit from the wonderful Danielle today. I like to get the horses checked regularly to make sure they are in the best shape, we work closely with Danielle and she does such an amazing job at keeping the horses on the yard in top top form.
Eric (1st picture)has always struggled with tight hamstring so he gets regular checkups to keep him feeling free.
Dutchess:(3rd picture) With her being a baby and still very bum high a lot of her weight is going through her forehand. Danielle treated her entire body but focused a lot on her shoulders and thoracic sling to ensure all tension was removed.
Duke:(2nd picture) His second treatment to date. Duke is riding fabulously but we have been trialling bits recently due to having some occasional brake failures. Because of this and his altered head and neck carriage in protest to numerous bits he was in need of a full body treatment to make sure all his muscles were happy. Even when they are riding well they are very good at hiding niggles
Really pleased with how the horses are going and can’t wait to see what 2024 has in store for us.

Successful day at H.Q today baby Dutches had her first meet and great with the horse box. She’s not to sure how she feels about it just yet.
Duke was happy to see the double bridle dusted off and back in action that can only mean one thing, showing season is coming. We have a nice little show lined up in February with him.

Well that’s a wrap for 2023 we have had a very successful year and hopping I can keep making dreams come true in 2024.

Productive day at the office today.
I started the day off with duke he’s back off his little holiday and back in work so gave him a little jump at home, followed by Toby and Eric who also had a jump, they all seemed to love the new surface in the arena.
Then I rode a horse called Sam he’s a ex pointer who never quite made it to the racetrack unfortunately so he’s having some schooling, he’s a lovely horse that belongs to Lindie Todd.
Next lot was a slight change in pace and hight, back down to a cheeky little 14.2hh cob called Finn who belongs to a lovely lady who is livery on our yard so I school him twice a week.
To finish the day off with Dutches as you can see today was the big day of getting on her. Dutches didn’t seem to mind and was a very good girl. Dutch will do a few more days like this then she will be turned away again until summer when we will start again with some more long reining before we ride her away and hopefully introduce this lovely filly into the showing and showjumping world

Eric had a play out again today a few changes have been made to tack and a titanium ear bonnet has been added which seem to have helped with his stress levels at a show, we managed a much more controllable round to even bag a 1st in the 90 so very pleased with him today, making all the right progress to get him affiliated.

We have all met Duke so it’s only right I introduce Dutches. Lovely youngsters learning the basics ready to break in over the summer the second horse for the Taylor family.
We have had a busy week at Thornley.
morris is jon taylor and Joseph Taylor’s trusty hunt horse. Morris had a trip to the salon which was more than over due he’s now ready to make his way to the hunting field.

Today was all about hacking out and playing in the water. I love taking the horses for a hack around the farm it’s great for them to have a change of scenery.
It’s great to have such fabulous hacking around us without having to go on any roads.

Golden child Toby came along for the ride, always nice to just have a little play with Toby ❤️

Home from a very cold day at west park for some unaffiliated show jumping.
Eric is making some lovely progress to hopefully start and build him back up to jumping a bigger course and then get him affiliated.
Eric had a nock in confidence last year and I made the decision to give him the summer off to let him mature and strengthen, this seems to have worked wonders.

Well that’s winter well underway hair cut day for Toby and smartie.
Toby may be the fattest ex racehorse there is, but I think he looks great.
Smartie looking very well for 22 years young. Smartie ready to go do his favourite job on Saturday and have a little trip out with the hounds.

Sometimes you have to look back to really see the transformation.
This is a beautiful horse I broke in over the winter for the lovely Taylor family.
He had a great season showing over summer qualifying for rising star semi finals.
He is now having a little holiday before.
We will hopefully have him out to see the hounds before the hunting season is over ready to get back in the show ring over summer. Duke is only 5 years old with a future as large as him ahead of him.
I am so grateful for the Taylor family allowing me to keep the ride on this big lad for another season.

Another very successful training day with Eric. Eric had much more rideability and was very relaxed. Eric can be a sensitive soul he gets very tense and anxious at times. The titanium mask seems to working a treat.
