We are Kyle and Hannah and we live near Crook, Co Durham, England, with our menagerie of animals! This is the home of Crash Bang, Xeno (not a beano), Maluna, Barry, Archer, Avacato, Lil-Cato, Roger, Spooks, Sid, Snaffles and of course the gorgeous Frankie! There are also three NFS (Non-Ferret Species) who live with us, Yoola, Biscuit and Rosie, our three lovely daft cats. Born in Australia, but li

ving in the UK for many years now, Kyle was first introduced to ferret life when he met Hannah in early 2017... and he hasn’t looked back since! A staunch Northumbrian, Hannah has had ferrets since 2014, and worked with North East Ferret Trust (formerly a rescue) for several years. She and Kyle currently have 12 ferrets of their own with another 7 of their ferrets now crossed over the rainbow bridge,

We set up Blue Ferret Boarding late in 2018 when we realised there was a need for a boarding establishment specifically designed and run for ferrets, by ferret owners. Blue Ferret Boarding gives an option for all those farents who would like to take a break from the day to day, but want their babies to have a break too! Our goal is give your fuzzies a home away from home, where they are exercised, well-fed and kept comfortable throughout their stay: Blue Ferret Boarding is THE staycation for ferrets! We lost our beloved Crash Bang on Sunday 7th July, 2024. 😢💔

He was absolute the apple of Kyle's eye. He was also his muse; the poster boy for BFB.

His passing was sudden and unexpected, after he recovered well from major dental surgery. Unfortunately the vets think he succumbed to a random infection which we just didn’t see until it was too late.

While I still blame myself for not being as vigilant as I could have been, I also know that ferrets are SOO good at hiding illness, and that was the case with Bangs. He is survived by Xeno “Beans (not a..)” Beano and the lunatic that is Maluna.

He is truly and sorely missed and our hearts are still breaking. 💔

We have a high of 18 degrees C today and we would rather be very safe than very sorry, so we have decided to cancel today’s walk. We would hate for any munchkins to suffer from any type of heat stroke or worse.

Please always take your ferret to the vet if you have any concerns over their health.
Facebook can be used for advice, but NOT for diagnosis.
If your ferret shows any signs of being unwell, your vet should be the first port of call, every time.
Make sure you have a piggy bank fund set aside or insurance for your ferret especially for these occasions.

No excuses.

Sunday 13 October 2024 - Blue Ferret Boarding is hosting Mustelamania for the first time, ever! 🥳

Multelamania (pronounced Must-tell-a-mania) is a ferret jamboree, a fertle gymkhana, a fun and frantic festival or ferrerty goodness! How ever you want to describe it, it'll be FUN! 🐾

And as a wholesome and wholly amazing coincidence😉, Mustelamania coincides with Blue Ferret Boarding's 8th birthday so we'll be taking the opportunity to celebrate our wonderful business with everyone who visits us!

OK, here are the deets...

We'll be at St Catherine's Community Centre in Crook (this is the same location as NEFR events in the past) from 10am - 4pm on Sunday 13th October.
