Hi folks after speaking to many of you, I know tarter build up can be a problem and can end in a vet visit for scale and polish under anesthesia. Expensive and also a risk and worry every time especially with older dogs. I have come across this product that has great reviews . If anyone interested in trying it let me know and I can order them in . Price is £24 and one tub lasts for months . I can only order if enough interest.

My Pearly Wights is a natural dog teeth cleaning product.

It will help to break down tartar, and freshen your dogs breath..

It’s a tasteless natural ingredients only powder that’s sprinkled on your Dogs food....

I am absolutely useless at remembering pictures I am so sorry lol even when I remember to take them I forget to post so here is a little selection from the year so far and if I haven't taken a pic of ur dogs groom(and alot of these pics were sent to me by the owners🙈) please feel free to post them in the comments of this post ❤️

14/01/2022

Hi folks, a post I have been dreading to write but it has been 5 years since I raised my prices and with all the recent rises with fuel and transit all my costs have increased significantly. Your first appointment after new year will be at the regular price but following appointments there will be a £5 increase on each dog groom price. 2 + dog households will still receive their £5 discount on second and forth dog. I have tried to hold off for as long as I could but been increasingly difficult 🙈

Price guide (some dogs will differ
due to requirements)

Yorkie / chihuahua /toy dog £35
Lhasa/shihtzu /maltese £40
Spaniel/shnauzer/cockapoo £45
Labradoodle/ large £50

Thank you and I hope u all understand why this is nesesary ❤️

Hope every one is keeping well, I hope I have managed to get to every one appointment wise, been a bit manic but if anyone is still looking for an appointment I am back working as normal now and have appointments from May.
Sadly over lock down I have lost a couple of long time clients who will be greatly missed Rolex the lhasa apso , and Hamish the miniature poodle. Always so difficult to say goodbye 😥. My thoughts are with both their families.

Hey folks happy new year 🙄 not the post I wanted to put up but looks like we are back to having to close. Obv nothing concrete to, if and when i can return but according to gov pages I can only do essential / welfare grooming once again. I am classed as a tradesperson due to coming in to homes and according to this document put up today I am required by law to stop working. I am so sorry to be doing this again and complete nightmare for myself and everyone with appointments booked for January. If trading standards (who are closed today) give me alternative advice I will be back in touch and rebook those whom I have missed ASAP.

Hey guys hope u are all looking forward to a more relaxed weekend seeing friends and family. Hopefully if weather reports are correct we may have some sun over the weekend. I have been back for a few weeks now and been so busy I haven't taken many pictures, so this is Rosie the shih tzu pup who was in today for her first groom. This is her before and after, as cute as she was all that hair is rather impractical for eating, seeing and going to loo 🙈 so this is Rosie sporting her more streamlined look 😍 too cute
has anyone managed to take any before and afters of their dogs afterlockdown haircuts . If so Post them in the comments I would love to see them . Have a great and safe weekend folks 😊 xx

22/06/2020

I am starting regular appointments as from today , please bear with me as it is going to be busy . If u have been seen as a essential groom throughout the covid closedown, I will be prioritizing dogs that I have not been able to groom for first couple of weeks most of whom have been booked in previous to this post. Thank you for ur patience I will do my best to get to each and every one of u as soon as I can. I will get back to messages throughout the week so don't worry if I don't get back to u straight away I promise I will. 😊 hope u are all keeping well and I will see u soon

As beautiful as the weather is and so lovely that we can now enjoy it with friends and family(socially distanced of course) temps to be between 24-27 so try keep ur dogs inside in a well ventilated room or in a shaded bit of the garden. If going a walk try to keep it early in the morning or later in the evening . Hope u all have a lovely weekend stay safe everyone and hopefully back to regular appointments by phase 2 🤞🤞 but I will keep everyone updated 😘

Hi folks there has been alot of grey area on whether groomers were allowed to return to work , I have been in contact with both the Scottish government key workers and my local MP office and we are not allowed to return to regular appointments but if your dog is in distress due to severe matting or a heavy coat in the heat then if u can contact me and I will book on a priority basis this applies to regular clients only I will not be grooming new dogs at this time. This means if u have an appointment with me on a regular booking basis this will not stand while lockdown is on I am afraid. I can only do nails if the dog is calm whilst getting them clipped due to not being able to have someone hold the dog with social distance rules in place. I hope everyone is keeping well and hope to be back to normal soon.

Hi folks just a check in , hope everyone is doing well , there has been alot of conflicting information about whether dog groomers should be working atm. I understand some are still opening , as far as I am aware this is mobile vans or shops where the owners can walk to the groomers as part of their daily excersise. My situation is slightly different due to me traveling between homes which with current social distance rules makes it difficult for me to follow the safety guidelines. I am missing you all and would love to get back to work as soon as possible but don't want to put anyone at risk . This was a recent letter back from the Scottish government to a fellow groomer . I will try and keep everyone informed about any changes to the guidelines and have contacted the local government for confirmation on my personal situation. Stay safe everyone and I hope to see u all soon 😘 xx

16/04/2020

Spring is in the air ,hope everyone is keeping well , this made me smile 😊 thought I would pass it on xx

24/03/2020

Hi folks I know this is a tough time for everyone and I thank u for all ur words of support , I am here to answer any questions if u are struggling of worried and I will even do a video chat (which I really hate) to talk you through any trimming u have to do. Try to keep ur dogs coat tug free but if they appear don't be worried about trimming them out . I have done a video to help with feet eyes and bottom (u can use the same technique for knots) this is just to help u in this time not to turn u in to groomers so as long as we can keep the pups comfortable that's the main thing so don't be scared to try. I hope this helps I hate myself on video so shows u how much love I have for u all that I did this .🙈 Stay safe folks lots of love hopefully see you all soon xx

Just a note * * * don't worry about getting too close to the skin when trimming eyes ect just take off enough that they can see , safety first can always do it again the following week ***

22/03/2020

It is with a heavy heart I have taken the extremely difficult decision to stop working as of today. Following todays government advice ,I am not an essential service and due to me going from house to house touching taps ect , this seams like an unnecessary risk for my clients alot of whom are in the vulnerable category. I will do my best to accommodate people for appointments when the world returns to something we recognise. I will look in to posting some videos to assist you all on trimming your dog's eyes and face and how to trim out knots without causing ur dog any harm. I am so sorry to let u all down but the lack of testing means this is much more widespread than we know and although I feel the risk is low ,it is risk non the less . Stay safe and if I can assist u with anything over the phone please ask and I will do my best . ♥️♥️ Maxine ♥️♥️

20/03/2020

Hi just another update with the current situation, for the moment I will still be working but would like to take extra precautions to ensure I don't put any of my clients or myself at risk. I will now be wearing a mask for all appointments ,due to the nature of the job touching my face is very difficult to avoid, this should hopefully help prevent me contracting and passing on any infection. I do usually work in a separate room but if this is not the case for usual set up, it would be preferable if u could make space to do this for now social distance in mind. Also where possible if a bank transfer for payment is possible , that would be preferable, as I would rather not handle cash. Again if you are self isolating , have any mild symptoms or have been in direct contact with any one with covid 19 please cancel your appointment , I will do my very best to get u back in once u have finished isolating ,by not doing this u are putting my other clients ,myself and my family at risk. Thank you all for your understanding with these measures , they are as very much for you and your families protection as well as mine in this unpresidented situation . Stay safe folks ♥️ ♥️ Maxine xx

17/03/2020

Hi folks just a quick update with the current situation changing so quickly , I will be messaging each client the night before their appointment to confirm appointments please let me know if your household is under self isolation . In the event of a cancellation I will offer this to the next client I feel may be in the most need , I know all my clients and how each of u will manage without my assistance within the coming weeks /months and have made this decision for the comfort of all my clients / dogs in the current climate. I understand this is an unusual situation but I don't know how long I will be able to get to everyone so this seams like the best solution at this time if u are booked in don't worry your appointment will stand this only applies to cancellations ♥️ xx

13/03/2020

Hi guys hope everyone is well, due to the current circumstances with the Corona virus obv my cancellation policy will no longer stand for time being. If u have any reason to believe yourself of anyone in ur family may be infected please let me know even if morning of ur appointment. I go in to alot of elderly clients and would never forgive myself if I carried this to them unawares. I will still be working as normal for as long as allowed and will do my best to try adjust appointments as and when nessesery. Please don't be offended when I refuse a coffee 😉 my concern is not for myself but for my more vulnerable clients. Stay safe folks I will post any updates on here regards to any further plans xx

Hi folks , would just like to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a wonderful new year. 2020 will mark 10 years of Maws and Paws and that wouldn't be possible without you all, so thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting me throughout the years .
I will be off now until Monday 6th January and will answer any messages on Sunday 5th. Have a wonderful time with family friends and fur babies and I will see you all in the new year much love Maxine xx

28/11/2019

Hi guys we are back in equifleece weather . These are great for keeping off the mud and rain especially with a longer coat, but I can't say it enough please brush through every time they are taken off . The fleece rubs at the shoulder and chest mainly especially if a harness is used on top, so to avoid a shorter trim in this cold weather, a quick brush through with a slicker and comb will make all the difference. 😊😊
