It is absolutely wild to me that some people think that you should not recieve payment for puppies as though they should be free. 🤯

Absolutley mind blowing to come up with something so ridiculous in all my life.

Would anyone expect to recieve..
A horse for free?
Music lessons for free?
A car for free?
A family holiday abroad for 2weeks for free?
Your weekly shopping from the supermarket for free?
Your gas and electric for free?
Your painter or decorate to work for free?
Your builder or joiner to work for free?
To be able to go into currys and pick up your laptop and ipad for free?
To get your clothes and shoes for free?

People see breeders 'cashing in' when they have no idea what so ever on overheads and outlays that come out like any other buisness has.

I am very lucky to have a wonderful buisness that has been built on passion and love. I feel incredibly humble to be able to do a job that I love and enjoy so much. It brings alot of hard work, extremely long and unsociable hours that demands your social sacrifice, a job where sick days do not count because you still have to have grit and work through.

I didnt have any precious maternity time off for any of my 4 children, fully paid by an emloyer - I didn't have anytime off in a baby bubble. I gave birth, took it easier for a week pottering around whilst Michael picked up my hard jobs and I was back to 'work' from there.

I don't get paid sick leave or any time off - my dogs are in my care and if Michael picks up my jobs for me for the worst few days then I have to get back on my feet and continue. No one is paying for me to be off to rest and recover.

Buisness owners are paid and that has to cover taxes, insurances, huge outlays with some profit to continue. It was far easier being employed than self employed in safety and security if you are sick or going on holiday, to have your set salary yearly you know you will receive.

Do not offend me by telling me I should not be breeding dogs for money or that I charge too much-I do not charge enough for my puppies and will be implementing a price increase next year to where I should be reflecting my overheads!

I am so tired of people that does not appreciate the stress, the strain and the mental and physical exhaustion us good breeders go through and I will not bite my tongue anymore.

We deserve the same respect like you would with any other buisness.

You are not entitled to a puppy from us, you earn the right to be blessed with a puppy from ourselves via vetting and upon meeting at puppy viewings us bonding and for me to feel like our puppy will be in a safe, loving and stable home with you. To be welcomed into the Eastdray fur family is to hold a piece of our legacy to be cherished always. We don't sell on a first come first served basis and we are the wrong breeder if that is what you are looking for, and that's OK.

If you do not like breeding that's OK, be an adult and scroll by. If you do love our dogs and their puppies and the community we have built here, I do apologize to you for needing to read this-I am exhausted!

We are not robots. We are human beings with feelings, with families working round the clocks to bring families well rounded, happy little family additions.

But enough is enough.

If you don't have anything kind to say, say nothing at all.

Thankyou,
Jayne.x

More and more cases of parvo virus in surrounding towns getting closer. 😭💔

📢 Revised bio-security rules for coming to puppy viewings will be posted below, anyone in breach of these will be asked to leave. 📢

The seriousness and severity of parvo virus is horrific. There is no cure. There is only support therapy to help aid the body in fighting and overcoming the viral disease often intravenous fluids, anti sickness meds, gastroprotectants and antibiotics to prevent a secondary infection plus a whole load of praying that they pull through!

Parvo does not need to be directly transferred from 1 infected dog to another. It can be carried by dogs and humans via hair, clothes, shoes, bedding, toys, bowls-anything the infection has landed on! It is an incredibly resistant virus that can live on objects outside of the body for months and in the ground that has been infected even after the poo has been picked up for YEARS!

WE WILL NOT RISK OUR DOGS OR PUPPIES FOR COMPLACENTCY OR IGNORANCE.

We ask all going forward from today that you remain in your car at all times when you drive in until I come to you and hand you foot covers to cover your shoes. Handsanitizer will be given to you. We ask all attending come in clean clothes that you have had no animals on you for your puppy visit.

NO DOGS ARE ALLOWED TO BE BROUGHT WITH YOU TO MEET YOUR NEW PUPPY.

For many especially the young and the old parvo is a death sentence. It spreads like wildfire. It can still survive and is still active in freezing temperatures and frost as it is temperature resistant to heat and the cold! It thrives in dark, damp ground conditions. It can be walked through everywhere you go if you get it on your shoes..

Please help us to help keep our home safe for our dogs and puppies. 🙏❤️‍🩹

🐾 Every breeder knows this moment, that little buzz on your phone a few days after a puppy goes home.

The message starts sweet, “we love him, but…”

And you already know what’s coming next. But he barks. But he nips. But he cries at night. But he’s just “a lot.”

And it breaks your heart a little every time, because what they’re describing isn’t a “problem.”

It’s a puppy.

A baby learning the world outside of their mom and littermates. They’re confused, overstimulated, excited, and scared…sometimes all at once. And that’s normal.

But people today want easy.

People want the version they see online…the one that sits calmly, never chews a shoe, and somehow knows “sit” by eight weeks.

They forget that behind every well-mannered dog is someone who put in the work, the patience, the boundaries, the grace.

People want the love without the learning curve.

Even the most beautifully raised puppies don’t come pre-programmed. They come ready to grow with you. To learn your rhythms, your tone, your energy. They don’t need perfection, they need patience.

Some people confuse an easy puppy with a good one. But the truth is, every puppy is good they’re just new. And new things are messy before they’re magical.

As breeders, we see it all. We comfort the ones who come back scared, unsure, wondering what they did wrong. We remind them softly, “you didn’t do anything wrong, baby.” Because it’s never their fault that someone wasn’t ready for the hard parts that make the best parts possible.

Raising a puppy isn’t instant. It’s sleepless nights, puddles on the floor, little teeth on fingers, and the sweetest bond you’ll ever build.

A puppy isn’t a project, or a phase, or something to “try.” It’s a commitment. A piece of your heart on four legs. If you’re not ready for the messy parts of puppyhood, that’s okay. Just wait until you can give your whole heart.

Because these little souls deserve nothing less 💜 🐾

Sorry I've been quiet this week I've had to have a week cracking on with things to get done and paperwork on top on my all ready full days..

Today both myself and michael has had 3 doctors appointments between us and ive also had my dentist app but im finishing of this evening with taking swabs and filling the paperwork out for DNA testing for 3 genetics diseases. 🧬

You ensure your dogs are separated on their own for a few hours before testing and no food or water being fed to ensure no shared or transferred DNA from another dog.You then take the buccal swab and swab the dogs inner cheek for 20-30 seconds whilst twisting it to try to get enough DNA cells on the swab for testing. You then air dry them for 2- 3 hours (which is a crucial step) before carefully to placing back into the tube to avoid cross contamination and tightening sealed shut ready for sending.

This right here to send off for 6 dogs was £828.00 and is only part of the health testing I do for my dogs. I still have yet to do BVA hips and elbows scoring, AON testing and yearly BVA eye and gonioscopy testing for the dogs.

For people's interest however I will attach a chart to explain how DNA testing helps us breeders..

Clear = carries 0 copies and will not be affected
Carrier = 1 copy carried but will not be affected
Affected = 2 copies carried and will be affected

A clear means a clear and will not develop the disease, a carrier means it carries 1 copy of X but will not develop the disease (in essence it is a clear carrying 1 copy) and an affected means that they are likely showing or will exhibit the clinical signs for X disease .

A knowingly affected dog should never be used and to combat this is to only use health tested dogs to know their DNA profile for their breeds diseases. ❌️

However...

I will be having an hour this evening getting back to messages, as always I will work oldest to newest to work fairly so please dont re message as it will knock you to the back of the list.

Jayne.🩷
