Massive congratulations to Jane Southerland winning the Wostershire gundog Novice Cocker with Kerdat Denim. She was pulled out for the run off with Fiona Flannigan and came away victorious. It was both ladies first time in a run off, both were very nervous but held it together and made an admirable job.
This is the second dog out of that litter to win this season and the 3rd Kerdat dog to win this year.

Great to see one of Kerdat War Paints pups growing into a handsome and talented young dog.

A big step up for Kerdat War Paint yesterday taking 2nd place in the Kintbury Open Cocker. He had two contrasting runs the first of which he did the full length of two fields of cover crop before getting a contact flush right on the edge of the second field. He was straight out and back with the hen bird and I shook the judges hand to end the run.
His second run was much shorter, he flushed a c**k bird off the end of his nose on his first cast. It was shot at about 25 yards by the end gun. Paint marked it perfectly and again was straight out and back. Then hunted on for another twenty to thirty yards before a loose bird got up in front of the right hand gun. It was shot at about thirty yards into heavy cover crop. Once again Paint made easy work of the retrieve. I asked if I could clean the feathers from his mouth but was told no. Put your lead on that will do you.
Knew I was in with a chance but was beaten by a better more experienced dog. Congratulations to Lynsay, I believe that was her bi***es 5th Open Win!
Thankyou to all the club members who made the day run so smoothly. Big thankyou to Christine the club secretary ( a formidable lady) who kept us all in check and out of trouble all day.

Another good day for Kerdat Kennels, with Claxbywold Limited Edition (Smithy) taking 3rd place in the Kent Open Cocker. A tough trial with only 4 dogs finishing. It was warm and the cover was high making marking difficult. Congratulations to the other award winners and a big thankyou to Spaniel secretary Dick Hyde. Those of us who were there early noticed that not only had he supplied a buffet, cakes and coffee. He could also be seen nipping across the yard with extra toilet rolls for the loos. Thankyou Dick.
Yesterday was the Yorkshire gundog Open c**ker. Two Kerdat dogs in the awards Kerdat Warpaint and Tony Muirs Kerdat Suede a novice dog runnning in his first Open. Well done Tony

A superb trial at the Game Keepers National Association Open Cocker up in Castle Douglas. Both Smithy and War Paint put in AA runs to gain COMs in a very hotly contested trial. Congratulations to John Heeley who won the run off against Jaseon Atkinson. Last day tomorrow with a novice trial then home.

Another good day for Kerdat kennels up in Scotland with Kerdat Satin putting another solid performance in for the second day in a row to gain third place. His first run was in extremely hard ground and at the half way point he was the only dog from the even numbers side to make it through to the second round. Unfortunately he worked his heart out for a blank second run. Congratulations to Janice who made the most of her opportunities she had flushes and retrieves on both runs and after picking a runner at the end of her second run she had to be the favourite to win. Only 5 dogs managed to complete the trial. Congratulations to all in the awards.

Great day for Kerdat kennels today with Kerdat Satin getting into the run off to take second place and Kerdat Pocahontas taking third place. Both dogs gave their all. The trial ground was superb with a great supply of rabbits. The guns hardly missed a thing all day. Pocahontas is the litter sister of War Paint, just helping to prove that the blood line is producing top trialing dogs consistently.
