DIY licky mat

My dog Dorin doesn't like the silicone mats. The bumps offend his tongue. But he loves cardboard and pate.

Today he had his cardboard mat as a calming aide. I was teaching him to retrieve. Our session was great, but I pushed him a little too far. Some licking at the end helped him to calm down and regain his balance. He had his mat in front of the French windows where he sometimes likes to bark at the birds and that cheeky squirrel. No barking this time, just concentrating on his treat. No mess ' he locked every scrap.
