🐾 Big News: I’m Now a Certified Dog First Aider! 🐾
I spent my Sunday learning some seriously important skills at a Dog First Aid course, and I’m now officially certified! 🎓🐶
We covered everything you can do to help a dog in an emergency before professional care kicks in:
💡 Recognising seizures and shock
💡 Handling bleeding (even internal)
💡 Managing GDV (bloat), burns, and poisoning
💡 Practicing CPR on a dummy dog (a game-changer!)
These skills are vital for every dog owner (and I highly recommend this training to anyone with a dog!), but especially for me as a dog carer. 🐕❤️ I feel much more prepared to handle emergencies. 🐾 Thank you, Dog First Aid - Sussex!

I’m excited to share that I’ve started a course on Animal Behaviour and Welfare at the University of Edinburgh! 🐾
Animals are such an integral part of our lives and the planet. We rely on them for our food, medical advances, sport, protection, and companionship. But what about their quality of life?
Understanding animals' behavioural needs and how they experience the world allows us to improve their welfare. With over 60 billion land animals raised for meat annually (set to double by 2050) and growing populations of stray dogs and cats, the need for global measures to protect animals and improve their well-being has never been greater.
The link between animal welfare and human well-being is undeniable. Whether in developed or developing nations, achieving higher welfare standards for animals—grounded in credible science—is essential.
This course is a step towards deepening my understanding and, hopefully, contributing to meaningful change for animals everywhere. 🌍🐕🐄
