Okay, so… I’ve decided to write a little book! It will be called ABC of a Dog Owner, and it will be a 40-page (or so) love letter to all things dog-related. Think of it as your go-to guide for keeping your furry buddy happy, healthy, and out of trouble (or at least mostly out of trouble). 🐶📖
But here’s the thing: I don’t want this to be just MY book – I want it to be YOURS too. So, I need your help!
👉 What do you wish you’d known before getting a dog?

Meet Woody – My Adorable Yorkshire Terrier Guest! 🐾
Aside from cooking delicious and healthy dog food, I’ve also been offering dog-sitting services for several years. And now, for the first time, I’m caring for a Yorkshire Terrier named Woody! 🐶✨
Woody is an absolutely charming and incredibly affectionate little dog who loves to stay as close to me as possible. 🥰 He’s also super friendly with other dogs and loves inviting his four-legged friends to play during walks. 🐕🐾
Did you know that Yorkshire Terriers, or Yorkies, originate from England? They were first bred in the 19th century, mainly in Yorkshire and Lancashire, by Scottish weavers who had migrated south. These small, hardworking dogs were initially used to catch rats in textile mills and mines. Over time, their delightful personalities and silky coats earned them a place as beloved companion dogs worldwide. 🐾🇬🇧
Woody is a true testament to his breed—adorable, sociable, and full of character. I feel lucky to have him as my guest! 🐕💖

🐾 Big News: I’m Now a Certified Dog First Aider! 🐾
I spent my Sunday learning some seriously important skills at a Dog First Aid course, and I’m now officially certified! 🎓🐶
We covered everything you can do to help a dog in an emergency before professional care kicks in:
💡 Recognising seizures and shock
💡 Handling bleeding (even internal)
💡 Managing GDV (bloat), burns, and poisoning
💡 Practicing CPR on a dummy dog (a game-changer!)
These skills are vital for every dog owner (and I highly recommend this training to anyone with a dog!), but especially for me as a dog carer. 🐕❤️ I feel much more prepared to handle emergencies. 🐾 Thank you, Dog First Aid - Sussex!
