Pumpkin is a stunning tortoiseshell and white female who is 6 years old. She is spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worm treatments. She has travelled over to England from Romania, where she had previously lived as a stray, thanks to World Animal Friends who have paid out for her to have her treatments necessary to travel, plus her transport costs from Romania. She is very shy, but doesn’t have a nasty bone in her body. She is used to living with other cats and would appreciate a quiet, patient owner who will let her come round in her own time and build her confidence up.

Oreo is a lovely white and black female, again spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worm treatments. She is 5 years old and will be 6 later this month. She too has come over from Romania, thanks to World Animal Friends who have paid for her treatments and passage abroad. She is used to living with other cats, but would be equally fine living on her own. She enjoys human interaction, especially tickles under the chin and as long as you give her enough time to get used to you, she will blossom, she’s very sweet.

Kiara has come over to England from Romania, where she had previously lived as a stray, until taken in and fed by a kind rescue over there. She is all black, 6 years old, has been spayed, microchipped, is fully vaccinated and is up to date with her flea and worm treatments. She has been paid for to come over from Romania by World Animal Friends, who have paid out for all of her treatments to get her here for the chance of having her own loving home. She is used to other cats and is getting used to more frequent human interaction, though she likes to be stroked and talked to.

We now only have 2 cats left at the rescue that are re-homeable (we still have plenty of sanctuary cats left), and I'm delighted to say that Fred, who is one of the re-homeable ones has found a wonderful new home in Brighton, thanks to the hard work of Millie, whom we're indebted to. We need to get Fred transported from Eastbourne over to Brighton Marina on Sunday afternoon. Is anyone free to do this please? I can pay for fuel xx

Just before I close our page down for good, I wanted to say a HUGE thank you to all of our volunteers, helpers, supporters and donators and friends. Without you we (Bev and I) wouldn't have been able to carry on as long as we have done and help the poor little souls that come into our lives so regularly.

To everyone that donated to the recent Go Fund Me that Millie so kindly set up for us, you have enabled us to clear our vet's bills at all four of the vets we use, plus pay our quarterly cat litter bill which is over £650, so thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Lastly I want to say a VERY BIG thank you to Bev for all the hard work that she puts in at the rescue, day in, day out while I'm at work. Without her tireless energy keeping everybody clean and well fed, I would have had to fold a long time ago.

This adorable boy is a long haired ginger and white cat, male, neutered and microchipped and vet can only age him at between 2 and 10 years old!

He is very hissy, spitty but we have been working with him for a while and he responds to chicken very well, and will take it from your fingers.

He would suit someone who likes a challenge and is used to working with cats of his type.

I truly believe that he will come round given time and patience.

They have lived together for many years. Felix, the black and white cat is 14 years old and Merlin the tabby and white is 9 years old. They both have very sweet natures and are friendly, though Merlin is shy initially, until he gets to know you.

Both are vaccinated and microchipped and neutered.
They're not fussy with their food and are looking for a home together to enjoy their retirement years.

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to those that have kindly donated and shared the fundraiser for Lucy. Your all incredible ❤️

I spoke with Lucy earlier and she wanted me to say thank you for all the calls and messages she will get back to everyone soon. At the moment she’s putting all her efforts into just getting through each day. Things have been incredibly difficult recently and the rising cost of everything has made it even harder for Lucy and the sanctuary to stay above water.
Once we can be clearer in the situation we will of course provide an update.
For now we will make sure that Lucy and the cats have all the support they need.

I will post about the kitties 🐈‍⬛ that need furever homes in the coming days so keep an eye out for these posts.

In the meantime please keep sharing and helping, I will also be setting up a wish list for food and litter for the resident cats. If like me your always on Amazon ordering for your fur friends please consider putting in an extra bag of biscuits or box of wet food for the remaining cats in Lucy’s care ❤️‍🩹

It very sadly looks as if I will have to close our doors. I have been fighting mounting vet's bills, mounting food costs and mounting litter bills for a long time now, but my salary just can't stretch far enough. I've run up as much debt as is possible to run up and now the wolf is at the door and I literally have nowhere to turn. I hope to be able to home the 3 cats that I have looking for homes - a pair and a single cat, then that will be it. Anyone interested in buying a 12 pen cattery unit (but you'll have to dismantle it yourself), please let me know.

Can anyone with a cat carrier help us out by driving to London tomorrow morning to be in Wandsworth area for 10am to pick up 2 x 12 week old kittens please, that we are taking in? Even if someone could do the London leg, I have someone who could meet them somewhere on the A22 or A23 to drive them down the rest of the way to Eastbourne. Would be very grateful for the help please as kittens have to be out by tomorrow xx

Fantastic conference today organised by Battersea Cats & Dogs Home, RSPCA, Cats Protection and SNIP. It was aimed at the smaller cat rescues and finding ways that the big and the small could collaborate together ❤️ Met some amazing people , some amazing other rescue people and feel as if today is day one of our future. Thank you to the organisers and delegates alike

WE were getting a bit concerned that we hadn't heard anything further from our Pets, Paws & Claws Event due tomorrow that we were invited to, so I rang them this morning to be told it had been cancelled and they don't know why we weren't notified about it - we're gutted, especially given all the hard work that has gone into getting everything ready for tomorrow. However as luck would have it, we were also booked into another fund raising event on Saturday, the Easter Fayre at Hampden Park Community Centre which runs from 11am to 3.30pm, so we hope to see you there instead.

A good friend of Honeycat Rescue, Lucie needs urgent help to get her beautiful kitty, Summerbelle treatment. Lucy has set up a fundraiser for her. We know that Lucy has often contributed to appeals that we have had on here previously, so it would be really nice to try to help her out in her time of need, however small the donation.

So March this year, my Summie I began coughing, so I took her to the vets (suspected allergies and or feline asthma). Vet medication prescribed but it didn't help with her coughing. So she's had to date scans of her heart and lungs urine and blood tests, she was diagnosed with pneumonia in her left lung, antibiotics and more steroids given but again it didn't get better so that was in the summer, so a vet vissit on ay 14th November 2022 and another xx-ray/ and op to remove fluid on her lung. A swab was taken as a mass which had grown slightly bigger and was denser was now found. I'm now waiting for the results of this, my lovely vet has suggested it could be fungal pneumonia which is very rare or the worst being lung cancer😥.
So I am pleading from the bottom of my heart if you can help me with ongoing vet bills I will be eternally grateful, I have donated for animals on here in the past so I'm really hoping someone may be able to help me now.

It will soon be the Christmas Fayre at Hampden Park Community Centre and as always we are looking to have 2 stalls there with a big tombola to try to raise funds for the kitties here at the rescue.
