Monday Morning Mindfullness. Thanks ladies 💜

It’s time for… MONDAY MORNING MINDFULNESS!! 🙂🙏
Here we are again - a new week and another Monday so soon 😳. It’s been a lovely, sunny, week here at Beesfield and the hens have been making the most of it.
When we think of mindfulness here in Western culture we can tend to focus on ourselves as individuals whereas in the East, where mindfulness originated, it’s very much part of being connected to others. Hens are a great example of this - being part of a flock is important.
So….. for this Monday morning’s mindfulness let’s focus on our own connections. One way of doing this is through generosity and this can be done in so many ways, from giving a little gift, to smiling at a passer by or making someone a cup of tea. Give it a go and see how this can lift your own mood as well 🙂.

It’s time for…MONDAY MORNING MINDFULNESS!! 🙂🧡🙏

Here we are again, the start of a new week and, as a Bank Holiday, it’s a very different sort of Monday. There will be lots of events, opportunities to do things you’ve not had time for, packed out garden centres and DIY shops 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫. We are surrounded by things to do, things to achieve and by the end of the day we’re only too glad it’s going to be a short working week.
Here, as ever, we can learn a lot from hens. Mindfulness helps you become more in touch with the moment - not just things going on around you, but also inside your own body. So many of us don’t listen to our body when it says we need to rest. We plough on regardless as that’s what we’ve learned to do. Hens (and other animals) are so much more in tune with their bodies. When they need to rest, they rest.
So…… for today’s mindfulness try to notice more signs from you body that you need to rest and, importantly, give yourself permission to rest. Even taking just a few minutes to stop will make a difference.

I did a rehome at the weekend & still have two pairs of chickens that need homes. They are with me in Crawley RH110ND. The two on the left are in moult but doing well. They’ll need to be separate or somewhere with lots of space whilst they settle in as theyre a bit bullied. The two on the right are in a mega moult & need some TLC. The girl on the left is terrified & has clearly been badly bullied. She’s a screamer! They’ll need to be kept separate & allowed to feather up a bit b4 being added to a flock. They’ll need gradual introductions to new sisters even if you have a boy to keep everyone in order. You’ll need to supply pics of your set up & the usual donation will apply. Thanks for looking.

I’m sorry it’s been so quiet in the group. A new full time job & all the training has taken so much of my time. I’m pleased to tell you all that we’ll be having some rehomes in the next couple of months. I suggest you start extending & strengthening those coops ready for some new ladies. If anyone is thinking of volunteering to help out then please message via the page. If you’ve got a secure barn, shed or run with parking & might consider being a Collection Point then we’d love to hear from you. 💖

It’s time for.. MONDAY MORNING MINDFULNESS 🙂🧡!!
Monday again? Seems far too soon! Time seems to be whizzing by here at Beesfield 😳and, dare I say it?, the summer has not arrived! The tomatoes are still green, the rain is falling and mud is appearing 😵‍💫. In other words, things are not going as they ‘should be’ and, as humans, we can get very affected by that.
As always, we can learn from hens by making the most of whatever is happening rather than wishing it was different when we have no control over it. When it rains the hens delight in finding bugs and worms that come out when it gets wet, they catch the drips of rain that are falling onto the fencing and they drinking rainwater from puddles - the muddier the better!
So…..for today’s mindful moment try to notice when you are wanting things to be different from how they are and see if you can find some positive aspects, however small. This can change how you feel as you go about your day.

Morning all. This 4 month old Araucana girl has started crowing so needs an URGENT new home. Yes, she’s a BOY! He’s coming to me today & will have to live in my house as I can’t have boys. I’m in Crawley West Sussex. Would anyone like him or be able to share on your page. I can transport him about an hour or so from RH11 0ND.

It’s time for… MONDAY MORNING MINDFULNESS 🙂🧡
Well here we are again, another new week ahead and another different kind of Monday morning feeling. If, like us, you’re working today it may still feel different too. Bank holidays can be quite disorientating for the rest of the week as you find yourself wondering what day it is and whether you should have put your bins out.
So…. for today’s mindful moment let’s take a little time to ground ourselves. Whatever you are doing, find a quiet space where you can stop and sit for a while with your feet firmly on the ground. Just a little escape can help you recharge for the rest of the week.

MMM - Naps are the way to go. Chickens arent daft

It’s time for... MONDAY MORNING MINDFULNESS 🙂
Here we are again, another new week and it’s Monday morning. But this isn’t just any old Monday morning, this is the first one of British Summer Time. If you’re anything like me you’ll be feeling a bit disorientated, especially if you haven’t changed every clock 😵‍💫.
As always we can learn so much from hens. They don’t wear a watch or set an alarm, they rely on nature’s time. If it’s light they’ll get up and if it’s getting dark they’ll make their way to bed and if they’re feeling tired they’ll find a safe place to take a little power nap.
So…. for today’s mindful moment see if you can fit in a little nap. It doesn’t have to be long, but it will help your body rest and get back in line with our ‘new time’.

Here we are again, another week has whizzed by! It was a strange old week at Beesfield, with lots of unexpected things happening. I am hoping for a nice, quiet, ‘normal’ week now. But life’s not always like that is it? We have to ride the waves, whether they are choppy or smooth.
So….. take a little pause today to make an intention for this week to step back from wanting things to be a certain way and to embrace whatever comes up with kindness.

It’s time for MMM…

It’s time for….. MONDAY MORNING MINDFULNESS 🙂
For many people Mondays are seen in a negative light, as something just to get through. It may be the start of the working week, or school, and even after retirement this feeling can linger. At Beesfield we have a routine which is pretty much the same every day, yet on Monday there’s that feeling of ’needing to be even busier’.
As ever, we can learn so much from hens. No matter what day it is they will potter round at the same pace and take a quick rest/dust bath/snooze when they have the opportunity.
So as you go about your day see if you can take moments to rest when you can. they don’t have to be long but, like the hens, 5 minutes here and there can make a whole difference to your day.

It’s time for…….
MONDAY MORNING MINDFULNESS 🙂
I think as humans -often at this time of year - we can often get into a routine of doing things the same way, at the same time, and life can feel like one big hamster wheel. As always we can learn so much from the weird and wonderful way of our ex commercial hens 🙂. Despite spending 18 months of their life in the same cramped barn day after day, set them free and they show their curious side. Those of you that have them will know that you can’t do anything within sight of a hen without her coming over to find out ‘what are you doing?’ ‘I’ll stick my head in there’ ‘is it for me?’ ‘Do you have treats?!’ ‘you’ve dug a hole - I’ll jump into it!’
So for today’s mindful moment, as you go about your day, see if you can adopt a more curious view - you never know where it may take you… Have a good week everyone 🙂🐓

Well here we are on what is now called ‘Blue Monday’, the most depressing day of the year. And if you’re like me, if you weren’t already feeling blue, the media reminding you that according to an equation you probably should be is enough to make you feel that way!
As always, nature can help lift our mood. So what better time to show you this beautiful bird, Louie, who lives with the lovely people at Lowveld Poultry Sanctuary.
So….. for today’s mindful moment, take a pause and enjoy the amazing mixture of colours on Louie.
