2022! Has been a year of highs and lows for me with the passing of my cocker spaniel and best friend Dillon 🐶 💔

Here at Bonnie Moments I have allowed myself time to grieve and have found the strength within to continue with all the happy memories and the loyalty that I receive from all the other dogs in my life 🦮

And I am really happy to share some of my highlights…

1. Passing my canine first aid training with the possibility of working in collaboration with the first aid trainer in 2023 ⛑

2. Passing an online course in dog behaviour and training so I can potentially work 1-1 with dog owners in 2023/24 💻

3. Reducing the capacity of some of my group walks to allow more time for study, teaching & self care 🧘‍♀️

4. Keeping my pack small and being selective of the breeds so all of your dogs receive a balanced amount of care, stimulation and socialisation 🦮

5. Continuing to practice my energy work by offering pet healing on my pet sitting jobs 🤲

6. Carrying out my very 1st wedding pup-erone job in October where I took care of 2 beautiful cocker spaniels and received a 5 star review 🏰

7. Building trust and connection in the relationships that I have formed with my dog walking and pet sitting clients 💖

8. Setting up my own online community so people can learn how to become a better dog owner 👩‍🏫

I only started expanding my own dog walking business not even a month ago and I am already at capacity with solo dog walks and now having to increase to walking in pairs.

Yesterday I achieved my dream of successfully walking two of my members in a pair and couldn’t have asked for a more suitable match.

I will only be walking a maximum of 2 dogs at a time as I want to be able to give your pups all my love and attention on their walks.

Daisy and Bailey will be walking together with me on a Wednesday afternoon 🐶🐾❤️

TOP TIPS FOR SEPARATION ANXIETY 🐶🐾

Dogs are predominantly very sociable animals and whilst some are completely unfazed when left alone, others tend worry, especially if they've become accustomed to you being home 24/7 during lockdown. While the symptoms of separation anxiety may differ from dog to dog, there are often some common symptoms that are displayed, such as an increase in heart rate, panting and salivating; increased activity, barking or chewing of furniture or doors; or inappropriate soiling in the home.

Here are some top tips to help tackle the issue:

🐶 Create a cosy space, such as a crate or bed that your dog is able to relax and feel safe in.

🐾 Practise leaving them for short periods without leaving the house. Using a stair gate can be a great way to begin to create some separation.

🧦 Provide an empty toy that you can stuff with your dog’s favourite food when you leave the home. Dirty T-shirts or towels with your scent can also help reassure your dog.

⏱ Build up the departures gradually so your dog learns to be alone in good time.

😴 Ensure your homecomings and departures are calm and avoid over exciting your dog.

🦮 Employ a dog walker or pet sitter so your dog is not left alone for long periods of time.
