We desperately need foster homes for Dennis and Beryl. They were adopted as puppies in 2018 and returned urgently a few weeks ago due to changes in circumstances and absolutely nothing to do with them at all. It was a very sad handover.

Unfortunately, we don't have any foster homes available so they've both had to go to kennels. This is not good for 2 well socialised dogs that had a home for 7 years so we really need to find foster homes for them both.

Beryl is particularly nervous and doesn't know how to interact with other dogs.

Dennis is more confident but we still don't know much about him.

Ideally we need 2 separate foster homes with no dogs or cats. They're very friendly and affectionate so sensible children would be fine.

Realistically, they won't be adopted for a few months so please don't offer with a time limit as we don't want them getting confused moving around.

If you're a previous fosterer or adopter that would be fantastic but equally, these are not difficult dogs and full support from our team will be given.

🎁 𝘼𝙉𝙄𝙈𝘼𝙇𝙎 𝘼𝙍𝙀 𝙉𝙊𝙏 𝙋𝙍𝙀𝙎𝙀𝙉𝙏𝙎 🎁

We could write a book about this - and we might! But here are a few points to remember if you even consider gifting a puppy:-

- any animal is a financial burden and the owner/adopter should be able to choose to spend their money this way.

- gifting animals to children is teaching them that animals are entertainment ie a puppy = a toy.

- gifting a puppy to an elderly person gives them cleaning and training that they may not be able to manage.

- gifting a puppy to your gf/bf/oh is basically dumping them on Christmas day. The no.1 reason for dogs being surrendered to rescue is "we split up"

- a breeder that has litters available at Christmas time is NOT an ethical breeder.

- gifting an animal to someone that is not able to keep it leaves them responsible for rehoming or disposal.

- gifting an animal to help mental health/loneliness can have the opposite effect. Puppy training is very very stressful and can be publicly embarrassing!

- rescues are stretched beyond belief. We are used to the influx of unwanted presents in February and if you are lucky enough to get a rescue space, you WILL be judged.

If you think someone could offer a lovely home to an animal, speak to them about it, they might not agree! But if they do agree, please research rescue animals and ❤️

Little Beryl has arrived in foster in Surrey.

She's very nervous right now and needs some time to decompress and get used to new people.

Beryl is 7 years old and was adopted as a puppy with her brother Dennis, who is still looking for a foster home. Unfortunately, circumstances have changed and they have come back to us for rehoming through absolutely no fault of theirs, very sad handover and tears all round but that's what RBU is for.

She will now be assessed for adoption and we will let you know what kind of home she is looking for ❤️

SURPRISE!!!

Happy gotcha day Dora! We have decided she's staying where she is and is officially a sister and no longer just kipping at Auntie Jordan's 🤭

We don't usually allow fosterers to adopt their foster dogs, but we always prioritise what is in the best interests of each specific dog. Dora's family have brought her from a terrified puppy to a happy, fun dog! They said goodbye to her almost a year ago and picked up the pieces when that home didn't work out just a month later.

Dora has chosen her home by herself! What a clever girl!

𝑪𝒓𝒊𝒄𝒌𝒆𝒕 hasn't had any interest at all. He was adopted several years ago as a youngster and unfortunately his main caregivers passed 😢 Cricket returned to us for rehoming - a bit on the plump side as he'd been missing out on the exercise he'd been used to and needs. He's lost around 7kg already and has a few kgs to get to a healthy weight ❤️

Foster home needed urgently

We have been contacted to rehome 2 dogs adopted 7 years ago. Unfortunately the adopter is leaving the country and we have little over a week to find somewhere for them to go - no judgement please, they had a plan and were let down.

We have a foster home ready for one but are still in need of one for the other. We would really love for someone that's fostered previously to come back as we know them, they know what to expect etc!

Now realistically we'll all be doing a raindance every day from now until 2nd January but.. if that doesn't work then let's all be as prepared as we possibly can be for the yearly displays of colourful explosions that serve 0 purpose 🫣

‼️ please ensure your dog's microchip registration is up to date just incase of emergency.
