Faside Stud is based in East Lothian, Scotland. The stud breeds top class sports horse particularly for dressage. We combine the excellent bloodlines of our mares with the best stallions in Europe to produce offspring that have the potential to go to the top in their discipline. We breed with conformation, movement, temperament, rideability and soundness is mind. Bloodlines include Sandro Hit, Rub

instein, Donnerhall, Weltmeyer, Jazz, Ferro and Florestan to name but a few. Every horse is fully wormed,microchipped and appropriately passported and DNA verified. All our foals are handled from birth. Most of our horses live out in groups all year round.

Nice little weekend getaway. Thanks to Maisie Jane Equestrian for looking after all of our four legged family. We went to see the Spanish Riding School in Aberdeen. We stopped in Braemar which is where the photos are from.

This lady is very pretty. She will have great rideability and trainability from all sides of her pedigree. She is a Vitalis daughter and her mum is Sandalwood who is by San Amour. She will be someone’s best friend and be a joy for someone to train up through the levels. Whoever gets Verona will be very lucky indeed.

This foal surely ticks all the boxes for what most people are looking for. He is kind and keen to learn. He has the very best of bloodlines, being by Sir Donnerhall and out of a Vitalis mare. He has a two stage vetting certificate. He’s a lovely colour, he has a kind eye and a very pretty face!

Jubilee is a two year old filly by Jovian. Her mum is another homebred mare, Faside Rubins Black Magic. On the dam side we see Rubinstein and Donnerhall who pass on high rideability and trainability. This filly will be really talented and I expect to hear great things about her in the future.

First Donnerhall is tall, dark and handsome. He also has a kind nature. I love the combination of Furst Romancier and Sir Donnerhall. He’s 3 years old and he has been gelded. I have a soft spot for this lad and I’ll be a bit sad when he finds his special person! But I’d also love to hear of his progress under saddle, he should be very competitive.

Isla May is a homebred mare descending from Dawn Til Dusk, the only daughter of my foundation mare Reggae. Isla is by Sir Donnerhall. She is a big moving, athletic mare who loves to learn and shows great natural talent. She has a great enthusiasm for life.

Joella, a homebred mare out of our Donnerhall mare. Her sire is Johnson. Pics 3 and 4 are her daughter who was 2 this year. Joella is one of our biggest mares and makes very special foals.

This yearling c**t will develop into something truly special. He combines Furst Romancier with Sir Donnerhall lines. Fidra is an exciting prospect for the future. As with many of the warmbloods he will take time to mature but he will definitely be worth the wait. He’s also a particularly nice shade of bay I think!

She’s The One really stamps her foals. These two are full sisters. Their sire is Global Player. Genevieve in the 2nd pic is one year old and Global Icon in the 3rd pic turned 2 this summer. Not only do they look just like their mum, they’re also like peas in a pod personality wise. She’s The One always wants to be the first to come in for some attention. She’s not been backed but I’d imagine she would take it all in her stride. She loves to please.

She’s The One is by Sandro Hit. She’s out of a homebred mare Black Magic who is a Rubin Star N daughter. The next generation has Donnatella, our late Donnerhall mare.

This yearling reminds me so much of her full sister and her mother. She will really want to please you and has a lovely enthusiasm about life! She will be one who will come to the call and nicker to you from her stable! She will have a very special bond when she finds her lucky person. Genevieve is by Global Player and her dam is She’s The One. On the dam side we have all the dressage greats from Sandro Hit to Rubinstein and Donnerhall.

Another one for whom the pictures don’t do her justice. This is Funfair who is by Furst Romancier. Her dam combines Sir Donnerhall and Diamond Hit lines. I think she’d fit best in a pure dressage home as she is very talented. She’s definitely going to be one to watch.

Not the tallest but an exceptionally nice natured young mare with a very kind eye. She’d be happy either being a riding club superstar or a dancing queen. She turns heads, she’s very pretty. She’ll look after you. She might be a good choice if you’re looking for your first youngster or if you’re feeling old and want something that will make you feel safe and also isn’t too tall whilst also being talented and trainable! Ready to back.

Who loves a chestnut mare? If you do, meet the lovely Faith. If you don’t here’s one that just might change your mind. Her sire is Furstenlook and her dam produces very trainable offspring, described as wise heads on young shoulders. Faith turned 3 this year so she’s a great age to start her new adventures. She catches the eye and has a lot of presence.
I think some of the best horses are chestnut mares 😁

If friendly is what you’re after, this lad is the one you want. He is by Sandro Hit and his mum is Faside Brianna who is by Bretton Woods. Sandro Son has just turned two, so a lovely age to get to know him too. He also has a great presence about him.

My photos don’t do this lovely lady justice. She is stunning in real life. She will be one to look after her person and develop a special connection. She will also be very competitive between the white boards. Her sire is Global Player and her dam is She’s The One, one of my favourite homebred mares. Am I allowed to have favourites? This filly really reminds me of her mum. Someone will be very lucky to have Global Icon. She turned 2 this summer.

This kind boy is by Furstenball out of Sundance, a lovely little mare who has all the old classic dressage names in her pedigree including Donnerhall and Rubinstein. Sundance is one of my first homebred mares. She passes on her exceptional temperament. He will be available after weaning.

16-2 mare with lovely temperament. She’s bred a couple of amazing foals and was a great mother. Riding away nicely. Hacks well alone in open spaces. Schools nicely and is very trainable. She’s started jumping and took it all in her stride. Easy to catch, load etc. She’s a very smart eye catching mare.

A real life black beauty! This is French Fancy who is by Furst Zonik and out of Faside Brittany. She’d love a competitive home. I think she will be really special in the right hands. She has a lot of presence about her. French Fancy has just turned one.

Talented mare who would suit a confident and competent home to bring out her full potential. She’s not the bravest horse and takes her trust from her rider. We’ve done hacking with her but feel she’d prefer to dance in an arena! Which to be fair is what she is bred to do. In the right hands she will be phenomenal. Not the finished article, she’s green, but she’s done everything we’ve asked of her. She’s about 16-1hh. She’s also had a cracking foal and could be bred from again.

This handsome chap is by Foundation. His dam is Faside Sandalwood who has a well deserved reputation for producing very kind, trainable and competitive offspring. He has just turned two which I always think is a nice age to get them at. Not too long to wait to start them, yet plenty time to get to know them first.
