UK is a fantastic place for dog-friendly hiking with countless trails to explore, from coastal paths to forested hills and scenic national parks! Here’s how to get the most out of your adventure while keeping safety first for you and your pup:
🌲 Plan your route: Choose dog-friendly trails with shade and water sources. Know the trail's difficulty and length to match your dog's fitness level.
💧 Stay hydrated: Bring plenty of water for both you and your dog. Take breaks to let them drink and rest.
🦺 Leash up: Keep your dog on a leash to protect wildlife and avoid dangerous encounters. A harness is a good option for better control.
🐕 Paw care: Check your dog’s paws for cuts or irritation, especially on rocky or hot trails.
⚠️ Watch for wildlife: Be aware of your surroundings. Snakes, ticks and other animals can pose risks.
🍃 Leave no trace: Clean up after your dog and pack out all waste. Let’s keep the trails beautiful!
Enjoy your adventure together, but always prioritise safety!
