Saving Staffordshire Bull Terrier and SBT crosses on death row in UK council pounds. Saving SBT on death row in pounds all over the UK.

This rescue was set up to help the plight of pound dogs, these are dogs that are on 'death row' in UK pounds. This includes dogs that have been abandoned, surrendered or left to stray. Some have only 7 days to be reclaimed by their owners. If they are not, they are put to sleep. The enormous number of dogs, mainly staffies

on 'put to sleep lists' lead us to want to help these unfortunate family pets. Few people realise that many healthy dogs, through no fault of their own, are being destroyed if not claimed within the week. The name poundies
Poundies are dogs that are abused, dumped, abandoned; unwanted souls that find themselves with 7 days to live in, generally, appalling conditions. Named ‘poundies’ as these conditions are council pounds across the UK that are ‘home’ to these dogs awaiting their death. Many people are under the impression that a dog must be "bad" in some way to end up being dumped and in a council pound; have a look at the photos and updates of some of our available pound dogs in their foster homes and of our own dogs most of the volunteers that help this rescue have pound dogs living in their homes - proof that this is not always the case.

Adoptee Skyler had a great day at the dog park. Her mum says it was to burn off her birthday cake but Skyler asked if they could stop off at Starbucks to get a Puppachino and some cookies for her and dad.

When your mum's sits down to a well deserved cup of tea but you have to remind her what a day you've had watching 6 leaves blow over front garden,bark at next doors cat and those 2 naps so you just tell her you need that mug of tea more than she does oh and can she add little bit more milk to it.

On our walk today we had the pleasure of meeting little Midge and his mum at bluebell woods kinclaven. Adoptee Dot did little tree climbing.
We got talking to Midge's mum and he had been attacked by a dog and it got me thinking of how dogs take this differently as Dot,Roxy and I were attacked by an off lead dog that knocked me to the ground bit Dot on the shoulder and Roxy on the face. It didn't faze Roxy but it made Dot reactive to dogs off the lead and It made me nervous and anxious somethingi didn'trealise until behaviourist pointed out so she helped me aswell as Dot ,both had no problems with dogs before the attack. So I always now think there must have been something happen in a dogs life to make it reactive that's just my opinion. Dot and I got help from a behaviourist that has helped both of us. Dot can make friends with dogs but they have to gain her trust first where Roxy just thinks everyone is her friend.
Handsome Midge was a little gentleman with my 2 girls.

Gorgeous girls Olivia and Storm are both still waiting patiently for their forever homes. Both these girls have shown what good girls they are by having kennel breaks to foster homes they have worked so hard to show how quick learners they are and that they just want a family to call their own and be loved and share their love. Both love a snuggle.

Adoptee Reggie " hand over the campers keys dad I'm driving today. It's ok I've got the perfect days adventures all written down for you. There's some walks with scent breaks and maybe if your lucky some fox or deer pooh to smell and roll in. Oh and plenty food stops eg mcds,KFC and burger king. So sit back and relax"

What a difference a Foster home makes to our dogs waiting on their forever homes. We keep asking for foster homes and this video really shows why they are so important and helpful.
Here is Storm loving life in her foster home. She has really come out of her shell and having a great time with her foster sister Libby loo. This didn't just happen over night it took lots of patience and help from storms foster parents(one of our committee) but it shows what great dogs they are. All storm wants is that loving family home.

How great is this update we got from Adoptees Tucker and Toby mum. both are deaf but it doesn't stop them having great times at their favourite secure field. It brings a huge smile to our faces.
