It’s been a very busy year so far and with another local groomer closing, please can my existing customers contact me with their plans for appointments for august to October. We’re being inundated with new client requests but also want to look after our existing clients. If you could call or text with your appointments for the next few months we can then see how many new clients we can take on.

Good morning everyone, at last it feels like spring in on the way.

Tuftys is going to be open tomorrow morning for the farmers market from 10am to 12.30pm to catch up with our customers old,current and new. For those of you who don’t know us my name is Pam. I’ve been grooming for over 9 years, Wendy my indecent colleague who works in the salon will also be there. Both of us can help with advice on grooming your pet.

Hillary our behaviourist will also be in to help with any unwanted habits your dog may have.

Our newest stockist, Andy, from Howley and Barkley, is going to be around. His homemade treats are divine and example of other products will also be available. Even a free cup of dog walking coffee while samples last.

Please drop in and see us to see what’s available, grooming appointments and even a dog eye trim if needed.

Samples are now available in store of the wonderful Howley and Barkley range. This includes dog walking coffee, peanut butter and banana treats, haggis treats, collars, dog towels and paw balm.

I can safely say the treats smell lovely and my own dogs love them.

It’s with my greatest pleasure, Tuftys will shortly be stocking a range of goods from Howley & Barkley. I recently met with the owner Andy who has wowed me with his range of products including dog treats, paw balm, towels, hats, collars and many things more to come including childrens books about Howley and Barkley.

Andy, a fully qualified chef, takes the preparation of these treats very seriously and clearly that shows with the results. Professional packaging and content information allow his customers to have confidence in his end products. These treats stay fresh for up to two months provided they are kept in a dry and air tight container and they can be frozen.

The treats come in a variety of flavours including apple, haggis and peanut butter. No additives used.

A small stock of haggis dog treats are going to be available in store from Friday. Allow your dog to safely enjoy the pleasure of burns night with you. Orders can be taken and delivered locally in Balerno.

Happy new year. Let’s hope this one goes smoothly.

Thursday 5 January
One of our new plans are to have training days for the dogs. A number of dogs are fearful of grooming and we want to be here to help. On Thursday, we are having our local behavioural trainer in to help put training programmes in place for those who need a little help. Hillary has worked with myself and Wendy and the results are amazing. To make a booking please call on 07866544961. Trespaws dog coats have also finally be delivered please contact us regarding any requirements.

Over the next few weeks we’re due also to carry out a refurbishment of the salon , please be patient with us and bless our meds during this period.

A very merry Christmas to all my wonderful customers and their owners alike. I do hope Santa has been good to each and everyone of you and perhaps a little turkey may end up in your bowl.

Your support of this last year will not be forgotten and I’m sorry for an inconvenience I may have caused due to hospital appointments.

I’m in briefly on the 28th and the 30th December if you need me. But back to normal on 4th of January with a behaviour help day on 5th of January.

I would also like to thank Wendy, Clare and Magan who have been wonderful in supporting me without each of you I couldn’t have managed.

Just to let you know I’m currently on a break to get a bit of a rest with my hubby before we all get back to work end of October. The salon is still open with Wendy at the helm. We have one appointment left this week if anyone needs an urgent appointment.

Well it’s that crazy time of year, I’m fully booked until mid November so please call to get you’re appointments in for Christmas as it’s booking up fast.

Wendy is still available under Wendy’s wag and wash, but with limited availability so please call sooner than later to avoid disappointment.

PLEASE BE AWARE

Unfortunately, over Monday and Tuesday it may be necessary to cancel some appointments. I do hope along with Wendy to work in the mornings but will only know when we see how hot it’s getting. I will not put any animal through any pain or discomfort with the high temperatures we are expecting. Please also call if you feel it is too hot to either move your pet on foot or in the car.

In the meantime take advantage of the cooler days then fans on lots of fresh water and stay out the sun. That goes for both dogs and owner’s.

Wendy has now settled into the salon so we can now take on some new dogs, got space in June for about 20 at this time. Please call on 07866 544961 for an appointment.

Remember puppies need to be introduced to grooming young at about 16 weeks to get them used to it.

I’m sorry we’re currently closed. I’m trying to get rid of a flu virus which had me in bed for the first week of our holiday. However enjoying some Florida sun and now wendy is not well. I’m delighted to announce that I have a new groomer joining Tuftys. Wendy has been grooming for the last few months and has now completed her styling course at the Academy. Wendy will shortly be available for booking on Mondays and Tuesdays initially however she has two spots still available tomorrow. As a result, Tuftys is now in a position to take on new dogs.

Please remember to introduce grooming to your puppy as soon as possible and no later than when they are 16 weeks old. Like all training it needs to be continued at home.

Good evening everyone, my goodness is crazy busy just now.

Heads up, I’m going to be closed from the 26 March through to 11 April. February is already full and March has limited availability. Can everyone glance at their diaries and let me know when you want booked in. Two local groomers are stopping grooming and I’m getting a lot of requests from them to join my waiting list.

Anyone who has a booking during my break will be contacted for me to rearrange.

Happy new year in advance. I certainly will be chasing last year away!

Moving forward, I feel like a stuck record, we’re back dealing with high Covid levels. In order that I can get as many people in for grooms as possible I will need everyone’s help.

Please, if you’re self isolating a member of you’re household is, do not bring you’re dog for a groom call and cancel. I will move people around so I can make space once you’re out of isolation. I personally am at high risk, so this is for all of us.

I’m going to look at my diary on 2 January, can I ask anyone looking for a groom in January or February to send a text message to me on 07866544961 with your name, your dogs name and a contact mobile number mark either January or February. I will contact each person on Sunday to sort something out. Please be as flexible as possible.

Once again wishing you all a prosperous new year and let’s kick Covid out.

With this in mind, please observe only one family group in the salon at any time.

I’m really sorry but I will need to cancel some appointments for august as I’ve to go to start my treatment at the hospital. During this period it’s vital that I stay infection free so I will not be able to groom aggressive dogs for the next three months or dogs that want to scratch me to bits as both of these can be loaded with bacteria. Can I also ask even if you’ve been doubly vaccinated for Covid if you’ve been in contact with an active case that you call and reschedule your appointment.

Thanks in advance for your understanding, if it works I will work flat out to catch up.

My treatment starts on Tuesday.
