Hi everyone, here are the details for this little treasure, she is a fairly small axolotl at 7 inches long and would need a home with a companion. She is 2 years old, eats very well and we want her to go to someone who has experience with axolotls.

Hi everyone, thanks to all our followers and hi to everyone new 👋
We've been quiet for a while, but I wanted to chat about axolotls that stop feeding. We've had a lot of experience with very sick axolotls and getting them feeding again.
Firstly if your axie doesn't seem themselves and is in a tank you can tub them with an almond leaf, this allows you to control the water parameters with daily water changes.
Check the water parameters in your tank, often problems are caused by the levels in your tank being off.
An axolotl can go about 2 weeks without eating, check the temperature of your water isn't too low, below 14 degrees celsius their metabolism slows down and they may lose their appetite, water in your tank that's too warm is also a major stressor, the ideal range is 14 - 20 degrees celsius.
Are you feeding your worms the right food or different foods than usual?
As a last resort you can try raw salmon, it must be pre-frozen for at least a month before feeding it to them.
If you are still concerned about your axolotl, get some advice from an exotics vet and it may need to see them, we use Birch Heath at Tarporley 👨‍⚕️🏥

Our Billy is still searching for a room mate, he's around 11 inches and has been with us for some time. He's very inquisitive and has recently lost his 2nd tank mate 😕

We are reluctantly letting go of several of our own axolotls 😕 that have been raised from eggs.

We will have a female copper pair and gold albino girl coming up in the next few weeks 💕

*Update - unfortunately Hans was too sick to recover, he went off to sleep peacefully this morning 🥲*
Keeping our fingers crossed for Hans, our Anderson's axolotl. Not sure he's going to pull through. He's currently having treatment from the vet but there hasn't been much improvement ☹️

Update on our latest little rescue, we have had her for nearly 3 weeks, her gills are growing, both front legs look healthier, they seemed underdeveloped compared to her back legs which was probably an injury. She's eating baby dendrobenas from our wormery, is filling out more and seems to have quite a fiesty attitude 💖

Yesterday, these guys went off to a new home in Wales, it was quite hard to see them go as we have had them 15 months. Thank you so much to the lady who has adopted them. June 2020 photos and yesterday, as you can see they have really thrived with the right conditions. Good luck guys 👋💕

Just a little note about Wirral Axolotls...

We have had a lot of enquiries recently about axolotls which is really great, as in our experience there is a lot of misinformation out there and quite often pet shops and aquatic centres give the wrong advice.

Please, if you enquire about an axolotl and we say we are holding it for you, you must let us know if you change your mind, we took on some rescues recently for several people waiting for one and when we contacted them to see if their tanks are ready/rescues were available, they are now no longer wanted.

We run things on our own time and at our own expense, around other jobs, we are not making a profit, we simply care a great deal about these beautiful animals.

Also if you have had an axolotl from us and you find yourself in the position that you cannot care for it any longer please contact us, we can take them back or suggest somewhere that can......
