We have used Northumberland Guinea Pig Boarding and Guinea Pig Grooming for the past three years since getting our piggies. Karen is so lovely and knowledgeable and we knew our piggies were in safe hands. Socks and Minnie (our piggies) always have a lovely time whilst in Karen’s care and are very well cared for. It's almost that time of year again to celebrate all things guinea pig, with a cowboy twist, at our wild west themed guinea pig town - Hog Springs. The 16th July marks National Guinea Pig Day, but this year we are going one step further by having a Guinea Pig Weekend.
On Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st July we will be putting on a weekend long event to celebrate guinea pigs. Our special guests - Gertie's Lonely Guinea Pig Rescue will be joining us on Saturday 20th July.
The event will run from 10am to 3pm on both days and is included in the price of a zoo admission ticket.

Dont forget that your piggies nails need trimming and fur cut shorter especially near the rear end where fly's can strike and kill your piggy and rabbit very quickly by laying eggs around dirty bottoms and matted fur.

Only £5 for a nail trim and £10 for a rear end bath, full trim/haircut and mite check.

Dont let your guinea pig suffer over the summer - Flies thrive on damp, smelly environments. Guinea pigs will attract flies if they have any of the following:

A dirty bottom
Fur that has become wet with urine

How it all began......

When I graduated from Kirkley Hall Zoological Gardens I decided to care for rescue rabbits; this became very costly with vaccinations, vet bills etc therefore to cover these costs and my love for guinea pigs as well I set up a small guinea pig boarding service. I still have 6 of my rescued bunnies and still board guinea pigs to afford there care; I also look after rabbits in their own home whilst their owners are away. I offer a groming service as well at a small additional cost for example nail clipping, hair trimming and bathing for guinea pigs only.
