Crickets and Locusts thrive in warmer conditions, yes. However how hot is too hot? 🥵
☀️ Like us, if we're out in the warm air near the sea or a pool with plenty of access to water, most of us would thrive. But if we're in those same conditions in a box with 20 other people and little to no water, the opposite would happen.
🪳 The same applies to crickets and locusts, which is why it is vital to ensure they are stored and cared for correctly. Unfortunately the weather is out of human control, however we do have access to ways of reducing extreme heats. While every care is taken to keeping live food at an ambient temperature during transit here are some tips to help them stay well for longer.
💧Keep them hydrated with HabiStat's H2O balls as soon as they arrive.
⚠️ If the temperature is reaching warning levels - try and keep them in a cooler area that is well ventilated with a fan or air conditioning.
❄️ Keep out of direct sunlight - where possible keep them in a cool shaded place.
