Back from some much-needed time away with my family and feeling so grateful. I've returned to my 50th 5-star Google review and I can’t thank each and every one of you enough. Every kind word and review here on Facebook, Google and Trustpilot means the world, and helps other families find me when the time comes to say goodbye.

Out of Office for a Summer Break 🙏
It’s time for me to step away for a little while and spend some much-needed time with my own little family before the next chapter begins. I’m becoming a school mum, where did that time go!

I’ll be away from work from now until Tuesday 19th August. During this time, please contact your usual vet practice for any support, as I won’t be available and my answer service will not be able to take messages.

I’m so grateful to the families who have reached out this week, and to those I’ve had the privilege to support. Thank you to all of you for your kind words, your trust, the heartfelt reviews, and all the recommendations.

I also want to thank Culm Valley Pet Cremation Ltd for their ongoing support; they too are taking a well-earned break next week.

If you’d like to book an appointment for on or after 19th August, you’re welcome to check availability and book online at www.rainbowbridgevets.co.uk.

Wishing you and your pets a peaceful few weeks, and I look forward to seeing you all back on here soon. Thinking of those who have loved and lost 🐾🌈

My reviews often come at a time I need them. Each one can leave me renewed and incredibly grateful that I’m able to help people and pets in their time of need. This review about beautiful Winnie did just that.

Winnie was a beloved soul dog, family member, and global bulldog sweetheart! It was the hardest goodbye for her family, but it was also deeply meaningful and filled with so much love. Any ‘Winnie’ dog takes a special place in my heart and this Winnie takes a space too.

I feel privileged to have been there for Tori and her family and thank them for their trust at such a difficult time, and for sharing such kind words in this beautiful review. To be part of Winnie’s final goodbye was an honour.

I love all the photos you’ve shared of Winnie, Tori, and hope you like the collage of her best shots ❤️ Thinking of you all at this sad time and remembering your sweet girl 💕🐾🌈

Take care, Sara x

Today’s tribute is for Max. To honour this beautiful boy and all that he brought to the world 🐾🌈

Max passed over the Rainbow Bridge on 7th February 2025, at the wonderful age of 14. A true gentle giant, Max was a cuddly, chilled-out soul who loved his food, his naps, and simply being by the side of his person, Liz.

Max’s story began in a rescue centre, where against the odds he survived as a tiny pup. At just nine weeks old, Liz brought him home, and from that moment on, they shared a life full of love, loyalty, and unforgettable moments.
Liz shared these heartfelt words for her boy:

“This is Max. He was 14 years old when he passed on February 7th 2025.
He was such an amazing boy — a giant cuddly teddy bear, a gentle giant. He loved his food and just relaxing — he was such a chilled dog.
I got him at 9 weeks old from a rescue centre where he beat the odds and survived.
I was lucky to be the one to take him home, and we had 14 amazing years of love and fun.
We miss him every day — he left a huge hole in my heart which can never be filled.”

Liz, thank you for giving Max such a beautiful life and for letting me share his story here. He truly sounds like the kind of dog who makes everything feel calmer, better, and more whole the kind of soul dog who stays with you always.
Thinking of you as you remember your gentle boy 💙

After another busy week, here’s a moment to pause and reflect on the families and beloved pets I’ve supported. It’s never easy making plans for a final goodbye, and I’m here to guide and support anyone who feels they may be nearing that time.

Ahead of being away, I’ve been in touch with those who’ve already reached out, helping them feel prepared. This might mean planning for a home goodbye, or simply understanding what to do if an urgent or unexpected situation arises. It can ease some of the weight of grief to have a plan in place, even if it’s just knowing your options.

I’m so grateful to those who have found me and entrusted me to be there at such an important moment. Thinking of each of you, and remembering your beautiful companions. 🌈🐾

Appointments are available this week, and I’ll help as many families as I can before I take some time away. Call 01392 240 608 or book online at www.rainbowbridgevets.co.uk

I’m deeply grateful for every kind review that people take the time to write. They don’t just mean so much to me personally but they also help others find my support during one of life’s hardest moments.

Remembering the lovely Ben today. He was a very special black cat who was so dearly loved 💙

His family left such a thoughtful and touching review that I want to share with you here, and just look at this beautiful boy.

Thank you, Paul, it was a privilege to support you through Ben’s peaceful farewell at home, surrounded by your love. Each pet I meet leaves a mark, and Ben was no exception. Thank you for trusting me to help guide you through such an important goodbye.

If you’re new to following me and may need my help soon, please be aware that I will be away soon until mid-August.

My last few July appointments are available now. Thank you for your understanding. Find out more about me, check my availability and book online at www.rainbowbridgevets.co.uk

Today’s tribute is for Dory. To remember this beautiful girl and all that she stood for 🐾🌈

Dory passed over the Rainbow Bridge recently, cradled in the love of her devoted mum, Kerrie. I was asked to share her story with you today so we can honour the wonderful girl she was.

A stunning snow leopard Bengal, known for her glittering coat and even more sparkling soul. Dory was a rescue with a complex past. She came into Kerrie’s life around five years ago, already a mature girl, and although her exact age wasn’t known, it’s thought she was around 16 or 17 when she passed.

Her mum, Kerrie, shared these heartfelt words:

“My beautiful baba, Dory – the most loving, gentle, and cuddly cat. You only came into my life five years ago, but it felt like you’d been with me forever – and now you always will be, as I keep your cherished memories alive.
You brought me so much joy and calm. You only ever bonded with me – a one-person cat, and that’s how we liked it – we were the best team. You trusted me with all your heart, and I hope I gave you the very best golden years.
You’re my best friend and soulmate, and I will always be thinking of you, sweetheart.
Mumma loves you, Dory cat xx”

Kerrie, thank you for allowing me to be part of Dory’s story. I’m so sorry for your loss. The love you shared was so special, and I know how deeply you miss her. She was clearly a one-in-a-million cat.

Take gentle care as you grieve and remember your gorgeous girl 💕

Thinking of the pets and families I’ve supported this week, especially the cats, who’ve really taken centre stage.

Cats often don’t get talked about as much when we think of pet loss. What do you imagine the final moments look like for your beloved cat?

Most of them don’t like carriers or car journeys or the smells, sounds and sights of physical vet clinics. And honestly, I don’t blame them, they don’t like change.

That’s why I’ve been thinking a lot about how different things are when cats get to stay at home for their final goodbye. This week, I’ve supported mostly feline patients, and the difference it makes is clear every single time.

They get to stay in their favourite spot. They don’t have to leave the house. No carrier, no car. Just the place and people they love, a gentle hand, and peace and calm.

It’s not always easy talking about this part of a pet’s life, but it matters. And it matters for cats even more and your vet practice may be able to offer a home visit but if they can’t, I’m here to help. I’m here to give a better goodbye for cats.

If you’re starting to think about when the time might be right, or if you’re wondering what a home visit looks like, you can find out more about me and book online at www.rainbowbridgevets.co.uk

Remembering the gorgeous Sammy today 🤍
It was an honour to be there for beautiful Sammy and his lovely family during such a heartbreaking time.

Saying goodbye is never easy, especially to a dog who’s been such a constant companion through the years. When they grow up alongside your children and are part of so many cherished memories it is all the harder when the time comes to let them go.

I’m incredibly grateful for these kind words from Sammy’s family and their 5 star review. It means so much to know I could offer calm and peace in his final moments, within the comfort of his home, and surrounded by love.

Rest gently, Sammy. You’re clearly very loved and missed. Thank you, Sarah and family for your wonderful review. Thinking of you all ❤️

This weekend I’ve taken a moment to pause and think, what would I be doing if I wasn’t a vet?

I’ve done so many things over my career that have each led me to this moment, to Rainbow Bridge Vets.

This role as a dedicated, calm and compassionate home euthanasia vet, and small business owner, has shaped me not just professionally, but personally. Through the gentle goodbyes, the family stories, the grief, and the love, I’ve become someone who can hold space for others, even in their most vulnerable moments.

It’s emotional work. It’s hard work. But it’s also deeply human. And I feel incredibly lucky to be doing it.

I get to use my skills and experience in a way that feels right for this chapter and pace of life, especially while my kids are so little. In many ways, I’m sharing my maternal, caring side with the families I support, while making sure their beloved pets receive a gentle, respectful goodbye.

To the families and pets I’ve supported this week, I’m thinking of you ❤️

If you’re approaching the time to say goodbye, I’m here. Appointments available this week, you can learn more, check my availability and book at www.rainbowbridgevets.co.uk
