Exminster Hedgehog Rescue

I’ve been gifted this XL hedgehog house made by Little Field Country Crafts, many thanks to them and to Ann O’Donovan for recommending me.

So I thought I would use it to raise funds for the rescue so if you would like to bid for the house please message me with the amount.

You will need to be local to collect from me in Exminster, bidding will close at end of on day on Friday.

This young hedgehog was seen wandering around in the storm last night but by the time the finder got something to put her in she had disappeared. But found on the doorstep this morning cold and wet through. She’s been on a heat pad warming and taken a syringe feeds but not eaten independently and waiting a 💩sample to see what’s going on 🤞🤞🙏🙏 for her.

A sad day today I lost one of the triplets, I’d became quite attached to her as I’ve been syringe feeding her for nearly 2 weeks. Also a lovely hedgehog that had been attacked by a dog I believe from his injuries came in a bad way yesterday but last night look so bright and taking syringe feeds but sadly it also passed overnight.

It’s very hard sometimes running a rescue as you want to save them all, you invest a lot of time and love into each one and you always question what you could have done differently, logic and reality is you can’t possibly save them all but it doesn’t make you feel any better.

Little Guy arrived from Honiton yesterday evening, he has the usual parasites but luckily for me he got stuck straight into the food. Let’s hope he carries on tucking in🤞🙏

Catherine arrive yesterday from Exmouth after being seen out and about in the day. She has a high burden of lungworm and roundworm 🤞🤞for her.

Today and this evening, 3 siblings abandoned by mum ranging from 190g to 240g. Mum has either got in trouble herself or sometimes mum decides she’s got to get ready for hibernation herself and can’t afford to feed them any longer. Sadly the 4th sibling came in on Monday but didn’t make it. All with an extremely heavy burden of lungworm. Also another very cold and dehydrated one only 190g all from Starcross.

Some new arrivals Sonia, Rumi who’d been trapped in a garage very thin and thirsty but also with lots of roundworm but she’d made a nice bed out of a picnic blanket. Little Jimmy seen out in the day yesterday, with quite a few ticks and lungworm.
