ls began as child back in the 70’s (eek!), at a time where proper care was not as advanced as it is today. As I grew older, I came to the realization that there were, and still are, unsuitable food products laced with sugars and artificial colours that entice our beloved pets, yet do not meet their nutritional needs. Treats 4 Squeaks is driven by my passion for small, adorable creatures, where every little companion deserves the best to help them lead healthy lives. Last week our fact information sheets were on gerbils. As the voting for hamsters, mice & rabbits were unanimous, my daughter decided to make it fair by picking one of these at random - watch the video for this week's animal 💛

If you've ever wondered what your hamster gets up to when you're asleep, a night camera gives you the opportunity to watch them. This is a quick shot of my dwarf on the 'Ham-Cam'. (The camera was a little too close this time hence the reflection) The camera is activated by motion so you don't have to sit for hours waiting for an appearance & it alerts you when they are active by a notification on your phone. It's great too if you happen to go away for a couple of days as you can still check on them as long as you have WiFi. I have one of the Tapo cameras for around £20.

It may not 'squeak' but they certainly know where the accidentally split bird 'treats' are! All small animals welcome 💛

Did you know...? Hazelnuts are high in protein, iron, calcium, zinc & potassium. These are important for growth, development & necessary for nerve stimulation & functioning of muscle tissue. We can eat them as well as our small furry friends so win win all round 🙂
