Having posted photos yesterday of the glorious GFS Lord of the Dance, I would now like to share some photos of yet another of his rather special sons with a few then and now pictures too.
Many will remember the rather special GFS Migaloo whose stunning mother Whisper was lost to us the following year. Whisper was out of a very special Hubbly Bubbly TB mare and by Crown's Ace of Pearl. With GFS Lord of the Dance being of Akhal Teke, Russian Trakehner and TB lines, he boasts a lot of blood, making him an exciting future eventing prospect for someone with big dreams and who doesn't mind being noticed!
Now standing at a strapping 17hh as a four year old, he is out and under saddle with Masie Morgan. His BYEH debut where he gained some excellent marks as well as an 18/20 for his overall type and conformation.
Regretfully Migaloo will be offered for sale as his owner feels that he has grown too big for her.

GFS Lord of the Dance, AES Graded stallion standing at 16.3hh and a fabulous amalgamation of Russia Trakehener, Akhal Teke and TB bloodlines.
As Autumn approaches and time closes on yet another breeding season. I thought it appropriate to capture some images of the stallions, who despite their hard work, often go without the recognition they deserve.
Today, I present GFS Lord of the Dance, or Django as we know him. He is the most incredibly kind, genuine and gentle boy who demonstrates exceptional athleticism and the temperament of an absolute angel. He has produced some absolutely sensational youngstock, including two superb young stallions standing internationally as well as numerous other super young horses now starting to come through .
I will be posting news of another of his young sons this week, who has proven himself to be a great prospect at this years BYEH classes.
I hope that you enjoy these photos, he is such a special horse.

Here is a little catch up with GFS Mikado in the US. Sired by GFS Lord of the Dance.

Blessed are the broodmares….

Those selfless souls with hearts of gold. Their lives are dedicated to a type of devotion only a mother can understand. Unlike us, It is a transient love, though no less powerful for its brief and fierce intensity.
or a career broodmare, their capacity to love is called on year after year; it is an instinctive adoration of incredible intensity that ignites in the first moments following foaling and yet it has a brief natural lifespan that only exists as long as their young need them.
It is a love that peaks and wanes, slipping into hibernation on weaning until the new year and new birth rekindles that maternal fire once again. It is a love on repeat!

Here is the very beautiful Matilda. She is by GFS Fire and Ice and out of the gorgeous Charisma (Camaro x Hurikan)
She is such a little big personality; always bustling around the field trying to encourage the other foals to play. Even when they are sleepy, she is still keen to get going and will hopefully and quite politely approach their dams first, as if asking permission. Once accepted into their space, she will then proceed to impatiently paw them to rise to their feet or nibble their ears until they leap to their feet to retaliate.
She appears to find her own mother rather tiresome and will almost always be found wandering around by herself in the absence of a willing playmate, absorbed in her own little world and happily amusing herself.
Matilda is also a dedicated foodie and in the absence of our typical acres of lush green grass in this incredibly dry spell, we are now on winter rations with the mares and their foals enjoying a shared breakfast bowl each morning. This little madam cheekily pushes her way in to every 'family feeder' to sample everybody's food before being chased off to share with her own mother.
We definitely have another GFS character in this little darling!

This not so little lady is the last of our 2025 foals and she is also quite the naughtiest!
Young GFS Amorina Ballerina is a second generation homebred. Her sire is GFS Eskimo Jo and her dam is GFS Arabesque who is by GFS Lord of the Dance and out of our beloved Shadow.
Amorina is very much her own 'woman', she is fiercely independent and a determined adventurer! She is very much the leader of the pack and is the instigator of all of the wild shenanigans as the evening falls and the hour of foal crazies begins! She is incredibly fast, acrobatic by nature and as light as a feather on her feet. This is going to be some horse!

Here is a little update on the two double dilute boys. GFS Celestial Supernova and GFS Ice on Fire. These two are powerfully built, tall and incredibly handsome foals who are certainly not short on character or glamour. Both of these foals are charm personified and love to come over for a chat and a scratch every evening.
When the sun starts it's lazy descent and the last of it's rays cast that certain golden glow, these two light up like silver beacons!
They are so very special and I hope that their future is as bright as their shimmering coats; I have a sneaky feelings that it might be! x

Neither the sire nor Grand sire's of this magnificent yearling need much introduction! This is a young horse whose breeding is as outstanding as his obvious quality. GFS Conchaccorado represents a rare opportunity for a discerning buyer looking for a genuine 5* prospect for the future. His temperament and movement are absolutely outstanding; he is sensitive but the most genuine, intelligent, calm and obliging natured youngster. Diarado is one of the most popular, and highest-ranked, stallions in Germany.
Diarado is not only popular as a sire of show jumpers, but also as a sire of eventers; he always passes on his beautiful and correct type and conformation, which is so important for long-term soundness and durability. He was in sixth place on the 2017 BE Sire Rankings for 4-8 year-old offspring.
It is little wonder with his bloodlines that he has a jump. But, this boy knows that was what he was born to do and needs no encouragement to demonstrate a leap like a stag! It comes as naturally as breathing to him and he just flies!

I thought that this might be a good time to post an update on our lovely 2025 foals. It has been a very interesting year in terms of coat shade, shapes and the paddock seems to be a kaleidoscope of colours as the sun begins it's descent each evening and the mad half hour commences! As regular as clockwork, at sunset and as the day cools, the yearlings and foals band together in their respective fields for the 'crazies'! It usually coincides with the neighbouring dairy cows being turned back out following milking and it is quite a spectacular show. Their are those who gallop with wild abandon in ever decreasing circles, dodging the mares or each other with centimeters to spare; others love a race with their little ears flattened and their noses stretched to the limit to claim a win and there are one or two who practice stag like leaps of joy and attempt to walk on their back legs with their fronts paddling the air in proud waves to anyone watching. These party moments are always punctuated by excited squeals and shrill little whinnies of excitement as they rejoice and celebrate being young and free.
One of these evenings before summer fades, I will try and capture some of these magical moments to share. But, I am usually too captivated to move lest I disturb this wonderful evening ritual.
We have one foal who currently remains available this year and he is not only the last, but also the last that I thought would be last!

I would like to introduce you once again to GFS Daizie Fantazie; otherwise known as Tazzie, this rather special four year old has quite a special place in my heart for two reasons. The first being that she has got me back in the saddle after a good fifteen years of enjoying my feet firmly on the ground!

I didn’t really have a cataclysmic reason for not getting back in the saddle, I just got off one day and decided that I wasn’t enjoying riding anymore. It was probably a combination of things; lack of time, a heavy work load and family demands, certainly there was a feeling of guilt that taking my focus from more important daily duties for pointless pleasures was giving me less time for more important items on the each and everyday agenda.

Although I have denied it, I have missed the sensation of silently being at one with a kind, peaceful kindred soul that does not make endless demands or seek constant chatter and simply enjoys the serenity of wandering companionably in harmonious silence.

This beautiful four year old has, despite her age and relative lack of ridden experience, given me the confidence to once again explore the many wonders of horseback riding.

Tazzie came to be quite by chance and sadly due in part to a tragedy. One of our much loved mares suffered a catastrophic foaling which resulted in an orphan foal. Two lovely ladies who had interests in a very special mare allowed her to come to us and foster the orphan. Beautiful Georgie was a superb mother and had preciously been a superb all round sport horse with results BE, SJ and BD. She was by the great Primitive Rising bred at the great Précis Stud and adored her. Her owner wanted her to stay with us and so the following year she had her own foal ‘Tazzie’. Sadly nine months later we lost Georgie.

Tazzie is regretfully looking for pastures new, although if things were different, she would be staying. This beautiful four year old is generosity personified and does not have a bad bone in her body. She adores everybody and makes a huge effort to meet, greet and make everybody happy. Her manners are incredible and her willingness to please is exceptional.

This lovely girl is currently standing at 16.1hh, she is vice free, easy to shoe, worm, catch and is completely trustworthy in all situations. She loads, travels and schools willingly; she hacks alone and in company happily through villages or in open spaces. She is snaffle mouthed, obedient and calm. This is a horse to suit everyone in the family and is a true friend in the making.

Tazzie has been checked by a physiotherapist, up to date with her teeth, feet and has had no expense spared in ensuring that she is a happy, healthy young horse. She is currently being professionally schooled at home in between our own forays and is a calm, willing pupil with a rocking horse canter and a super jump. She is jumping grids with precision, balance and enthusiasm - she has a fantastic jumping technique and takes it all in her stride.

If you or anyone you know is in search of a safe, sane, kind and willing young horse with potential to progress in grassroots sport or just to make a truly incredible horse to suit all of the family, this could very well be your girl! There are 100% not many unspoilt, unrushed and genuinely honest young horses like this to be found any more and I envy the person who will get to call her their own x

I have been very quiet of late. I think an exhausting foaling and breeding season this year combined with a few unforeseen problems and the creeping weariness that comes with the passing years has definitely slowed me up this year!

I am now refocusing and ready to wake this page up and make the GFS name more engaging and entertaining once again!

I think many of you who have been following this page for many years will remember our remarkable mare ‘Destiny’ (Liosin Lux) This incredible old girl by Olympic Lux is now 24 years old, she had her first foal in 2008 following an injury, she had been jumping 1.20 in Ireland. Her first foal was considered so special that following her recovery, it was decided that she would be a tremendous Broodmare. That is what she became!

That first foal went on to jump at 1.40 and Destiny has since had another thirteen foals who have proven themselves eventing, show jumping and between the white boards. I bought her unseen and her inutero foal who became an absolutely fabulous Graded stallion (our own Paddy of Liosin).

Destiny was also the mother of two healthy, living sets of twins which she raised with ease and in her incredibly capable, unflappable manner. She is a born mother and since her retirement, she has become a serial foal thief, to the extent that she had to be segregated!

Destiny is a big character, she is very intelligent, exceptionally loving and loyal but she takes no nonsense from anyone! This past year she had been quite sad and more introverted, I had become quite worried and although she still looks incredible she was not quite herself.

Last month a friends mare suffered an illness that saw her hospitalised and incapable of rearing her own foal. This was a beautiful filly by GFS Eskimo Jo, Destiny’s grandson! We wondered whether our much loved, hard as nails and rather depressed old matriarch could possibly step in and rear her great granddaughter!

We immediately put Destiny on a rising plane of nutrition and started administering the domperidone protocol in order to bring her into milk. We were lucky in that she happened to be in season which helps speed up this process and within days we were milking her and monitoring both the quality and quantity her milk.

An introduction just over a week later and Destiny had a ‘daughter’!

I am delighted to report that both Destiny and her adoptive filly are now well ensconced in the Broodmare and foal herd and not only is the filly completely nutritionally dependent on her foster mum, but she is adored, protected and totally well adjusted with a fantastic maternal role model. Destiny is in seventh heaven and could not be happier, or prouder of her unexpected new lease of life!
