The magnificent GFS Lord of the Dance (2014)
This absolutely heavenly natured and incredibly handsome stallion is regretfully in search of a deserving new home! The gorgeous 'Django' has been living the good life with a friend and alongside his half brother, where he has been enjoying plenty of ridden work and endless pampering in a wonderful home with a family who absolutely adore him. Circumstances have changed and sadly the time has come for us to consider finally selling him if we can find the perfect home for this special boy.
Standing at 16.3hh and with the most incredible temperament, loving attitude and trustworthy of natures, he enjoys his ridden work but is ideally suited to resume work as a breeding stallion and or a fabulous prospect for someone looking for a leisure horse to enjoy hacking, occasional schooling and just to have a lot of fun with.
His breeding is of incredibly rare Russian Trakehner, Akhal Teke and thoroughbred bloodlines which have both proven jumping and dressage provenance. It is due to his exotic heritage that his coat shines with the mesmeric iridescent sheen.
He has been Graded by the AES with some great comments and he is a proven sire of some spectacular offspring out competing here in the UK and in the USA. He has two sons standing at Stud very successfully. One in the US, GFS Mikado, a young stallion who has been Approved by Oldenburg and who is starting to make his mark both show jumping and in Hunter Jumpers. He also has a spectacular son GFS Man in the Moon standing in Ireland (both of these stallions have their own FB pages for reference).
We are working steadfastly towards retirement and as such, he was on loan as his future is very important to us. He has not been used at stud for the past two years. When we stood him at Public Stud his fee was £600 and he was a popular choice for mare owners, producing some real quality dilute foals (he can also produce the beautiful smoky black) from a variety of mares. We have offspring of his here and have bred numerous foals ourselves from him; they have all been very athletic, intelligent and gentle souls with highly sociable attitudes and proven highly trainable in a variety of disciplines.
Future homes will only be considered who are experienced with stallions and have suitable facilities to offer a stallion a good life with turnout, work and lots of love, because this is a horse who really loves people, attention and is 100% genuine in all ways.

This horse means a lot to us and to all those who know him and his future home and happiness is of paramount importance.
He has lived in an American barn happily with mares and is currently on a mixed private yard. He enjoys turnout daily in his own field. He is vice free, great with the farrier, comes to call and presents no issues to handle. He is an absolute gentleman, gentle and so loving, but he is a stallion and requires the respect and understanding that requires.
GFS Lord of the Dance is currently in Cheshire and will be in Exeter from the second week of February. He really is a remarkable stallion and would be a tremendous addition to a serious breeding program or an ideal friend for anyone looking for a special horse to love and enjoy.

Wishing everyone near and far, a wonderful New Year Eve and a magical 2025.

I am ending this year with a few photos of the GFS Galileo and GFS Echo of Thunder having a blast this afternoon as they enjoy their last few hours officially as yearlings and enter their year of the 'terrible two's'!
Actually, these two gorgeous geldings are two of the politest, kindest and well behaved boys imaginable and both looking for their perfect homes in 2025. Somebody will be very lucky I think!

The babies had their first experience of snow. It was fascinating how they individually interpreted and reacted to it as they left the barn and entered a world of white as they came out for their daily handling and play session.
Aquillo and Nelson were horrified, as were Zephyra and Kalindi, although they all decided to leave their stables and test out the white stuff with a little reassurance. Astro and his pal were bemused but happy to trust us, GFS Olympia was her relaxed self and took it all in her stride, her friend Luminita just wanted to dig in it and see if it was good to roll on and GFS Tiger Lily couldn’t wait to get out into it and thought it was the most exciting thing ever and just wanted to chase around with the dogs, blowing plumes of steamy clouds as she snorted and cavorted.

Many of those who have followed this page for enough years will remember little GFS Ziggy Stardust. He is by Destello and the first foal out of It’s Magic who foaled GFS Illuminati, GFS Lolapalooza, GFS Alchemy and GFS Spellbound.
It is so good to see that he has done so well and remained true to the GFS ‘stamp’ of being such a true delight under saddle and in temperament.

I could not be more delighted to be posting this, the latest update in the journey of GFS Moon Daizie. She left us five weeks ago and has absolutely blossomed under the care and tutelage of Sophie Walker Eventing where she has made huge and enthusiastic steps towards starting a ridden career with promise, potential and her happy little ears pricked with interest and enjoyment at all times.
I could not be prouder of this wonderful young horse or her wonderful trainer Sophie.
Regretfully it is now time to find Moon Daizie pasture new where she will no doubt be adored, admired and enjoyed as she deserves to be.
Young horses this special and with such faultless temperaments, calm and sensible dispositions as well as such enthusiasm for work and true synergy with their rider do not come along very often...they are special!

GFS Sporthorses continue to reduce our numbers as we move towards stepping down from breeding horses professionally. We have a couple of two and threee year olds, some really super yearlings and a number of very exciting 2024 foals currently at a seriously reduced asking. These reductions will not extend into next year as once we are through another winter and the hard work is done.
As the bells toll for the new year the values will be returned to a number that does not simply cover the cost of production and there they will stay. This is a once only opportunity, not to be repeated and it ends midnight of 31st December!
If you are looking for a quality foal or youngster bred for guaranteed temperament, excellent bloodlines, ensuring versatility, rideability and trainability under saddle as well as a true beauty, we may very well have your dream come true! We have probably owned most of these horses great grandparents and are able explain these bloodlines from a personal point of view, if not introduce you to them!
These young horses are professionally handled from day one, they have established ground manners, a high level of trust, superb natures and fabulous attitudes. They have been assiduously trimmed and wormed from six weeks old, they are vaccinated and Registered with the AES.
They will all attain a mature height of 16hh upwards.

It has been a busy weekend here. Our wonderful farrier has been here for the past two days trimming the horses feet to perfection and checking that every horse is correctly balanced.
We were not only blessed by blue skies and sunshine, but I also had my two gorgeous grandchildren here to help.
We do very much focus on temperament in our breeding program but when it is seen in action, I cannot help but feel both proud and inspired by the generosity of our horses spirit.
From the youngest weaned foal to our most senior stallion, these remarkable horses showed an extraordinary understanding of small vulnerable people to the point that I felt confident with each and every one interacting with the girls as a special mutual respect developed between them and communication barriers overcome and understood.

And in a blink of an eye...they are gone!
Today we bid a sad farewell to the striking GFS Firestorm, the rather uniquely marked buckskin pintoloosa by GFS Fire and Ice, out of Camaro mare, Charisma.
Firestorm has started his journey to his wonderful new home in France where he will be professionally produced with the aim of seeing if he can live up to some of the incredible eventing names to be found in his pedigree.
He loaded like an absolute professional and apparently traveled like a dream on the first leg of his journey. This c**t has been an absolute dream to handle from day one. Like so many of our foals, his relaxed and 'can do' demeanor, combined with his kind, intelligent attitude has not only won him a place in our hearts, but it made him somewhat of a schoolmaster for the younger foals as they have come in to be weaned. He has shown the way when they have been a little lost or worried, standing strong and patient beside them; encouraging them to lead with growing confidence and gently reassuring them whenever they have become overwhelmed with the many lessons learned away form 'mum's' side.
Firestorm, you will be much missed and remembered fondly. You are going to a simply wonderful new home and to someone who fell in love with you almost as quickly as we did. Be safe little one and always be happy x

With only three more foals left to wean, I thought I would give a little update on the exquisite GFS Tiger Lily. This little looker has neatly poached the very best genetics of her magnificent sire GFS Illuminati and the beauty and grace of her dam GFS Arabesque. Her pedigree is a testament to some of the most incredible performance and breeding stallions throughout her bloodlines with a little twist of the exotic.
Tiger Lily is a fun and charismatic filly with a wonderful personality and keen intelligence. She is a really feminine filly with a beautiful head, kind eye as both her dam and sire as well as the same incredible movement as both her dam and sire who absolutely float above the ground and really use their whole body to express their love of life and their paces to another level.
We really have been so very lucky this year to have bred so many beauties who not only look the part, exude quality but are all such genuinely kind, trusting and friendly souls too.
I am very much looking forward to updating the next three in too; GFS Luminita who is the paternal sibling to Tiger Lily, GFS Astronova by Ahorn and GFS Conchaccorado by Conthalou...

As promised, an update on our star pupil GFS Moon Daizie;
A little over two weeks since she left us to join Sophie Walker Eventing for her initial training under saddle, this superstar three year old has taken to every aspect of the new challenges and questions asked of her. She has always been a kind, sensible and willing young horse with a serene temperament and relaxed attitude to life in general. But, even those who know and love her so well have been astounded at her foot perfect progress!
From the moment Daizie strolled up the ramp of the horse box with zero hesitation to leave on her new adventure, she has embraced every lesson and adapted to her new life in work with admirable enthusiasm, ears always forward and her typical good grace. Sophie is amazing, but I think that you will agree that Daizie is pretty incredible too! I had the opportunity to go and visit this dynamic pair yesterday and had the pleasure of watching Daizie hack alone down country lanes, passing other horses and farm machinery and then along a busier road with traffic and vehicles with flashing lights. I watched her working in the school with enthusiasm and intelligence over poles and developing her lovely big trot with a rider on board. This really is such a genuine, cheerful and workmanlike young horse with tremendous class and massive potential to become an absolute dream ride. She is straightforward, non spooky, obedient and listens to her rider beautifully. She steps out with style and with confidence, she transitions seamlessly into a lovely big trot and comes back to walk or stop with the lightest of aides.
We already know from her loose jump that Daizie has a huge amount of scope and a tidy style over a jump and have little expectation that she will make a competitive grass roots eventer or the most exceptional mother daughter share/top class Riding Club horse or pretty much anything else you can think of. This is a kind, loving and gentle youngster and the type most riders would sell their soul for. She is at the start of her education, but she is going to be the most exciting prospect for anyone in search of quality and a temperament that is absolutely without fault. GFS Moon Daizie will probably settle in height at 16/16.1hh, she has good bone and great feet, she is Registered with the AES and her dam is the full sister to GFS Fire and Ice. Her sire is GFS Lord of the Dance. She has super breeding and bloodlines that emphasise her highly desirable versatility, she has good conformation and has been professionally handled from birth with emphasis on developing both trust and a great bond with people. For her age she has had a fantastic education to date, her manners are impeccable in all situations and is absolutely perfect for someone to now have the pleasure of bringing on and to further develop this very special young horse's natural talents and attributes.
She is vice free and we have yet to find anything that she is awkward about or worried by, including clippers, bathing, farrier, tying up politely, traveling, loading, in or out of the stable, dogs, chickens, cattle and chaos in general.

Horses as genuine and trainable as this are rarely available and would almost be described as suitable for a novice were it not for her age and only at the start of her education! She will remain in training and will also shortly be followed by our other three year old GFS Daizie Fantazie!

Just a quick reminder that with weaning well under way, we still have some very beautiful and well bred 2024 foals remaining. These super youngsters are very well handled in all ways with fantastic temperaments and winning characters.

Sometimes champions are made and sometimes they are born!
All I can say is that in over twenty years of breeding, I have absolutely no doubt that this filly has something so special about her.
GFS Olympia was born with attitude, she knew she was special from her first breath and she has not stopped reminding us all!
Our original trepidation that she was going to be a little devil was quickly dispelled as she is the most charming, sociable and gentle soul. She is frighteningly intelligent and it sometimes feels that she has been here before. Every lesson taught is one remembered; she loves attention which has made everything so easy to teach her and so obliging, as long as her efforts to please are recognised and praised appropriately!.
Olympia is bold, very brave and highly motivated to be the best, the fastest and the smartest when enjoying the foal games with her friends. She is vocal, bossy, independent and demanding of an audience at all times whilst always maintaining a kind attitude, a sensible approach and a big sense of humour.
I have no doubt this filly will be heading to the top of sport when her time comes, her breeding is exceptional being by the late great Ahorn and probably one of the last, if not the last of his foals to be born.
Her dam is the fabulous mare Dolanda (Ultimo x Wellington - Nimmerdor) Dolly as she is known is a retired International Grade A show jumper with winnings in excess of £22,000 having jumped consistently up to 1.40. On the Sunshine Tour she won ten out of her twelve classes and she is just the most glorious mare with the biggest heart and the kindest nature.
We are currently not prepared to part with this filly as not only is she the stuff of dreams, but to see her through to a competitive future would be a dream come true too x

It occurred to me that I have not created any posts on one of my favourite boys. GFS Equinox is just an absolute 'teddy bear', he is so polite, considerate, affectionate and intelligent. Although he is still a c**t and only a yearling , he is just so well behaved and responsible. We really do adore him and continue to have the high hopes for him that we have had since his arrival last year.
Equinox is by the glorious GFS Illuminati, a son of GFS Eskimo Jo and out of a super jumping mare by Hogwart. His dam is Dolanda,(Ultimo x Wellington) one of the most wonderful mares to have ever graced my yard and who is much adored. She is KWPN Grade A show jumper with a phenomenal record and a heart as golden as her son.
We will be running this super c**t on for a while, but I just wanted to share this handsome boy, even though he is looking a little scruffy with his winter woollies having eclipsed his glorious iridescent summer coat x

It is a funny kind of light at this time of the year.
As the blue skies and bright summer sun start to lose their battle with endless, dull grey skies and chillingly damp mists, it seems that with every reemergence of the sun's cheerful face, she becomes weaker but no less beautiful. I personally live for the summer and wish that I could hibernate through every winter!
Nature is a fickle and wondrous beast, her moods can be playful, awe inspiring and miraculous. She can also be a treacherous and cruel creature too; as the sun sets on a glorious autumn day here, I am thinking only of those in the path of Hurricane Milton.
I send my prayers and love to my friends and everyone in Florida tonight. I pray you stay safe, stay strong and have faith that during the darkest hour, a light somehow always appears x

Whilst we continue to lose sleep and await more new arrivals to liven up the page. I have had this lovely video sent to me of GFS Man in the Moon, a 2021 colt by GFS Lord of the Dance and out of our gorgeous golden Pepper. It was too good not to share. GFS Man in the Moon is now in Ireland and owned by Karen Rice where he will be Licensed to stand as a stallion and be produced under saddle eventually. As you can see this lovely young horse has developed beautifully under Karen’s care and is standing at 17hh already. I have added photos of him as a foal in the comments so you can see how far he has come in three years. Exciting times to come for this super lad.
