Let me introduce you to GFS Aquillo. This c**t is going to be an absolute powerhouse as he matures. He is going to be tall, athletic and absolutely captivating; with excellent conformation and strong limbs, he has a great trot, a balanced canter. His movement is both fluid and expressive and smooth.
Aquillo has a lovely calm, easy going nature with an intelligent approach whenever handled.
As with all of GFS Fire and Ice's offspring, he has a golden temperament and should be well suited as a future show jumper or eventer.
His dam is by the outstanding International Grand Prix show jumping stallion Monte Bellini. His career was distinguished with continuous successes; He was NRW-premium stallion, double National Champion and – after resounding success in Grand Prix, Nations Cups and the World Cup Final of ’s Hertogenbosch/NED - Monte Bellini qualified for the 2012 Olympic Game in London/GBR. Unfortunately, he was unable to participate due to an injury. In the following season he won the Nations Cup and Rotterdam GP. His sire Montender won individual Olympic bronze and double gold at the European Championships. His dam Ramira was awarded with the title Performance Jumping Mare.
The famous bloodlines of Cor de la Bryère, Ramzes AA, Ladykiller xx, Cottage Son xx and Ferdinand are also prominent in this superb pedigree.
The offspring of Monte Bellini establish themselves according to their age in advanced level courses and are highly successful in the National Championshipsand, 17 of Monte Bellini’s sons have been licensed and around 30 of his daughters have received a state premium, including various champion mares.
This lovely c**t is going to be a massive opportunity for someone looking for size, presence, talent and a superb temperament. He really is very special x

A little peak at GFS Kalindi at at just under four months old. Kalindi means sunshine in Hindi and she really is a golden girl in every way with her gilded coat and shimmering frosted mane and this is certainly one of the prettiest foals this year.
Kalindi is by GFS Fire and Ice out of a Ramiro B x Black Sam Bellamy dam, Kitty Malone. Her breeding leans very much towards eventing or perhaps even endurance as she has a high % of quality TB performance bloodlines.
This lovely girl has a fantastic temperament, but it would be unusual not to get a GFS bred horse without that trademark golden character. She is beautifully put together and moves with a great deal of elevation, elasticity and with exceptional speed which is hardly surprising sharing a family tree with the great Galileo who was her grand sire's full brother! She has a super trot and a big level canter that demonstrates both propulsion and lovely balance. She will make a super ridden prospect and doubtless draw quite a crowd wherever she goes with her glamorous looks and spectacular colouring.
She is currently available. Details can be found on our website www.gfssporthorses.co.uk

Here is the tremendously stylish GFS Zephyr by GFS Fire and Ice. She is still a little scruffy with her foal coat, but she is a true beauty. This filly could not be more feminine and absolutely floats in motion. She has some really super performance bloodlines; her KWPN registered dam is by Al Pacino W, an International show jumper and son of the phenomenal Andiamo. Her dam sire Aiglon Rouge is a son of two of the of the most extraordinary show jumpers and producers of legendary offspring; Narcos II and the outstanding mare Dirka, dam of the inimitable Quidam de Revel.
This gorgeous filly has a faultless temperament and will make a super prospect whether jumping or performing between the white boards.
This is a repeat breeding and her five siblings have incredible natures and those under saddle so far have proven highly trainable and a delight to know. They are universally adored by their owners x
She will make a fabulous horse for someone seeking a talented, versatile partner and who appreciates a beautiful looking horse with kind, genuine character.

It has been a bit quiet on the social media front of late! We have been busy with stallion collections, visiting mares and catching up with friends and family.
I am planning on updating photos and details of the babies one by one and sharing video too. As is now common knowledge, we are dispersing the majority of our horses and actively seeking deserving new homes where they will be loved, cherished and given the lives and opportunities that they deserve.
If over the coming weeks you may see something that may suit you or someone you know, please do get in touch.

As I have reported to date, we have truly had the most special foaling season and the new arrivals are all equally special and captivating in their own individual ways. We have some real characters among the babies who make every day such fun as well as creating challenges on a regular basis with their particular brands of fun and self expression! However! As always, foaling season comes with drama...sometimes we are lucky and sometimes we feel as though we have gone ten rounds with bad luck. There are inevitably both blissfully happy and desperately sad moments, emergencies, high pressure situations, pleasure and pain; the fear factor is an ever present dis-quietening thoughts at the back of your mind and faith in your skill set and that of your team when all seems to go to hell in a handbasket in a a nano second.
My post today is a bitter sweet story and its hero is our first born foal of 2024.
GFS Orpheus has always had a very special place in my heart. He was born happy and about as sociable, playful and as relaxed as they come. He loved everybody and took to halter training and picking up his feet in the first week with the most sensible 'can do' attitude. He is a stunningly handsome foal, jet black with three white socks, a star and absolutely near as perfect conformation as you could hope for. When he hit the arena for the first time he completely wowed us. His trot, his canter and his big ground covering paces were powerful, stylish and just so utterly impressive; this boy had presence in spades. He seemed to have it all.

Regrettably a few weeks ago this divine young c**t suffered a bit of a mystery accident, in that it occurred whilst he was unattended and the cause was unknown. The result of this unfortunate incident was a catastrophic injury to his right eye. Following expert advice from a number of highly qualified veterinary surgeons and experts both here and overseas, we were not given the news that we had hoped for. The two options were euthanasia which was the easy way out or to have the entire eye removed. There was no amount of time, money nor divine intervention that was going to save his eyesight or the eye itself and the thought of him having to adjust to life with partial vision was just such an overwhelming consideration and fraught with 'what ifs'.

We opted for an enucleation with a degree of trepidation and faith in the incredible team who went above and beyond to do whatever possible to ensure a positive outcome. Thank you and forever grateful Dr Matthew Mackee and the absolutely incredible Tatum Malyon whose skills, dedication and generosity of time, compassion and effort have ensured that this little guy gets a second chance.

Nicknamed 'Nelson' by the team, he has been an absolute superstar throughout his ordeal and remained cheerful, positive and full of fun. He accepted his daily meds without fuss and stood like a statue for the onerous bandage changes and necessary post operative treatment. I am delighted to report that he has now made a full recovery and is back out in the paddock as if nothing has happened and has somehow managed to adjust his senses and spatial awareness to navigate life with his disability as if nothing is out of the ordinary. He is full of energy, cheekiness and confidence; he is a dedicated speed demon and still performs incredible acrobatics and daring athletic feats with wild and fearless abandon. He also remains full of love and trust for people, in fact he is simply the most incredible character and I am quite in awe of his indomitable spirit and zest for life.
I think we could all learn something from this happy c**t and not only count the blessings that we have but embrace them and live in gratitude of what we have and not pity ourselves what we do not have! Life is a a gift and Nelson is living it to the full in his little world, every day and in every way x

I am afraid that this post is a week late, but as they say 'better late than never'!
If you have been following my posts regarding GFS Zingalina's prodigious advancement under saddle since starting ridden work three months ago, here are a few photos of her last little outing and latest achievement with the simply amazing Sophie Walker before she returned home for a well deserved break and holiday.
Zingalina has proven to be a composed, enthusiastic and incredibly talented young horse with impeccable manners and an inspiring work ethic. It has only been twelve weeks since she went on her first ever hack; she has proven to be relaxed and sensible on roads, through flooded lanes and over the vast expanse of Dartmoor, she has tackled cross country fences, ditches and water complexes with intelligence and bravery; she schools with obedience and focus whilst improving with each and every session. Unsurprising due to her breeding though extremely gratifying none the less, she loves to jump and does so with great style, scope and a careful technique remaining unphased by any of the colourful or 'spooky' combinations of obstacles. With ears pricked forward and absolute trust in what she is being asked to do, this genuine and gracious four year old simply gives her all. What Sophie has achieved with this eager, intelligent and positive youngster is truly special.
At each of her outings to experience dressage between the boards and proper show jumping courses, she has stood patiently, displaying superb manners both in and out of the rings despite her surroundings being completely unfamiliar, loud, hectic and exciting.
We made a decision that before her holiday after such effort and still so much enthusiasm for her work, we would take her to the Dubarry Burghley Young Event Horse class at Howick with no expectations, but to see how she handled it and as a nice end to her 'school term'.
The day came and due to an unbelievably unfortunate incident on the M5 and the motorway being closed, an hour and forty minute journey became one of five and a half hours sitting in a traffic jam that was not moving.
The fantastic team at Howick held the five year old class and waited for Sophie to arrive for her class. With twenty minutes from arrival and unloading to entering the ring, they were just awe inspiring. Zingalina was completely relaxed about the whole ordeal and behaved like a complete professional. During her dressage phase she scored 25.5 out of a possible 35 which was fairly amazing as she must have been quite stiff from the journey. She also received some super comments. The jumping phase which followed on immediately from dressage saw her score 21/25 for technique, balance, rideability and temperament and 13/15 for suitability indicative of being a future world class event horse, capable of getting round a five star track! Again she received some great comments (calm, willing attitude, neat technique and good potential). For the gallop following jumping she scored 4/5 having the potential and ability to lengthen her strides with furthe maturity and development. Her suitability and Type phase saw her score 15/20 for the judgement as to whether she would stand up to the physical demands and longevity as a potential world class event horse!

I would like to share a few photos of our final foal in her first week of arrival. This filly is by GFS Illuminati and out of Quirilina Z (Quirifino Z x Loerntin I).
I am absolutely delighted with this pairing of such special parent horses and I think the results speak for themselves! This lovely creature is femininity personified; she floats along with all of the speed, strength and grace of a gazelle. As a character, she is rather less unassuming than some of the more naturally rambunctious foals here. She is so sweet and curious, but she is also still a little shy. This is something that they quickly outgrow when left to their own devices and given time to work everything out. When she is brave enough to come for some attention, she absolutely relishes the interaction and she will doubtless become the most affectionate young horse in her own time.
Breathtakingly beautiful, this filly is going to be tall, elegant and the epitome of an equine athlete of note...!

Here are a few quick shots I managed to grab of Mojo (GFS Eskimo Jo) having a little party for one in his paddock this morning. I also added a few more of my favourite photos taken over the years...
This 18hh 'Goliath' of a horse is the happiest and carefree soul, he never lets life get him down even when I know that he would be so much happier in consistent ridden work. This is a stallion who has such enthusiasm for variety and interaction, his super work ethic and willingness under saddle is never in doubt.
Due to previous fractures of his femur as a foal, he has sadly never achieved his potential due to intermittent lameness, but when he has been sound, he has shown incredible scope over a fence as well as a natural talent and intellectual aptitude for dressage movement.
Despite being only a high day and holiday ridden horse these days, he is always busy whether in his stable from where he has a full view of both yard and house and is an avid people watcher!
During the summer when the warm weather eases his stiffness, he plays endless games with himself in the paddock and performs spectacular aerobatic and gymnastic moves at hair raising speed, simply for his own pleasure and because he loves it. On occasion, I have managed to catch on camera and will endeavor to do more of this, this summer if I can! He is a larger than life character and definitely the yard clown! However, GFS Eskimo Jo has produced a small number of simply spectacular offspring to date, all of which have demonstrated his exceptional trainability, eagerness to please and generous spirit.
He has been ridden safely and happily by a variety of riders, including petite ladies all of which have praised his tremendous effort to please and throw his heart and soul into being all that he is asked to be whilst remaining a perfect gentleman.
Mojo is Graded with the AES and is available to a very limited number of mares this year and for the last year at Public Stud. He has some exceptional Holstein bloodlines and a multitude of truly awe inspiring performance ancestry.
He may be huge, but we have covered mares as small as 15.3hh and the foals that he throws are always perfectly proportioned, of great beauty, kind eye, gentle and have been from 16.1 – 17hh only, although obviously the size of the mare typically dictates the height of his offspring!

By the legendary Ahorn VDL x Ultimo/Wellington I can now offer an update of this little rascal at two weeks old.
As mentioned in my original post regarding this little turbo charged firecracker; if she were a person this filly would be the life and soul of every party! A natural social butterfly, she makes it her business to greet every horse she passes going to and from the barn personally with a little kiss on each passing nose accompanied by a little squeal and often rather a large buck!
With a sense of self importance that grows with each passing day GFS Olympia is one of life's characters; she very much dances to the beat of her own drum which is absolutely OK with her glorious mum and former SJ star Dolanda, as that is the way she rolls too!
From the instant the barn door is opened every morning, a high pitched and insistent little whinny demands that her presence be acknowledged, breakfast to be served and for the day to commence. People are absolutely her favourite thing in life and she demands both attention and admiration in equal measure. She will cross the paddock at high speed to be first to the gate should there be someone standing there who may satisfy her craving for adulation and a chat.
I am fairly certain that with this filly's pedigree and family credentials and not to mention her confident, determined personality, I am very hopeful that we may have a future star in the making for someone looking for a serious future show jumper!

A little under three months ago, I made a decision to send four year old GFS Zingalina to Sophie Walker Eventing. I had met Sophie when Zingalina went to be lightly backed at the end of last year and she had been helping with this most critical of times for a young horse's introduction to saddle, bridle and rider. Sophie subsequently came and rode her shortly after here for a session upon her return in order for me to get some ridden footage of her before she had a deserved break.
Zingalina will once again be returning for a holiday at the end of next week and what a well deserved rest it will be for this truly remarkable young horse and how much I shall enjoy the cuddles and fun she brings to the yard.
In the past weeks, this young mare whose beauty shines from inside out has taken trainability and willingness under saddle to another level. Bearing in mind that she had only been asked for a canter the day before her return last November, this incredible youngster has achieved goals that I could only have dreamed of and this she has done without quibble or question.
From hacking alone and in company down the narrow lanes, passing tractors, bicycles and all manner of traffic, to galloping over the vast open spaces of the 237,500 acres that make up the Dartmoor National Park; this filly schools with the attitude of a saint, jumping, she approaches both 'spooky' coloured show jumps without ever backing off or showing concern. She clearly has a passion for flying over cross country jumps with bold enthusiasm, scope in abundance and the can do attitude of a horse that has absolute trust in her rider and genuine love of the challenges and interest ridden work can provide with the correct training and approach.
Her manners are without compare, her ears always pricked and bright eyes always focused; her attitude is faultless in everything asked of her or expected and there are some very high hopes resting with this lovely girl as she continues to mature and develop her talents.
Zingalina has attended arena hires with marquees being erected and flapping in the wind without batting one of her lovely eyelashes, she has stood like a rock in training whilst military aircraft attained supersonic status above her beautiful pricked ears and over the past couple of weeks she has attended her first dressage test and show jumping classes with fantastic comments, much admiration and showing massive potential whilst displaying impeccable manners in the warm ups, the ring and whilst waiting patiently amid the chaos of competition before and after her classes.
This girl is showing herself to be a rare type; safe, sensible and a horse that thrives with the work and attention she so craves. Make no mistake, GFS Zingalina is going to be an enormously exciting prospect for the future. But, as she is GFS Moonlight Echo's maternal sibling and a daughter of the spectacular GFS Eskimo Jo, perhaps I should not be surprised, there is some serious performance ancestry in this little ladies pedigree!

There may be an opportunity for shared or full ownership for this super horse in the coming months, please feel free to call and discuss if interested on 07955429959

Here is the absolutely astounding c**t out of our saintly and incredibly special Nicarado (Diarado x Corland/Caratino Glory). These photos were taken all within his first few days. He just seems to get better and better; a consummate athlete and a joy to watch when in action or repose.
This truly remarkably beautiful c**t is by the superb up and coming Shockemohle stallion Conthalou (Conthargos x Balou du Rouet/Chacco Blue) and as you can see his first time mum absolutely worships the ground that he walks on.
This foal is just so extraordinarily graceful and effortlessly athletic, his quality and class is undeniable.
This c**t has the most exquisite head and superb conformation; despite being bred in the purple for a career that could take him eventing as easily as show jumping, I believe this young man has movement quite good enough to reach the very top of the game between the boards too! This c**t is truly special and for someone with a discerning eye and big ambition in their blood, he has to be a serious option!
He will be available to a home who appreciates just how remarkable both his breeding and future potential is and wants a real opportunity to shoot for the stars...
More photos on the way. Serious enquiries are welcomed!

The thoroughly captivating GFS Tiger Lilly who just makes me believe every day that I was not wrong in believing in the power of my dreams. This filly is the culmination of everything that I have striven for in developing my breeding program. By the outstanding young stallion GFS Illuminati and out of GFS Arabesque who between them carry so much in terms of both potential and simply outstanding bloodlines through many generations.
I know we all have different ideas of our own perfection...this is mine and I am so proud of her x

Here are a few snapshots taken over his first week of our tremendously handsome and super friendly c**t by the legendary Ahorn who passed away in 1999. This c**t and the Ahorn filly also born this year from our showjumping mare Dolanda are the last ever to be born from this true superstar stallion.
This c**t is a shameless attention seeker, he does not have a shy and retiring bone in his body and seems to live life believing entirely in his own importance and craving for attention. He is incredibly intelligent and full of get up and go with a big personality and the type of character who makes quite certain that he is in the midst of any action. He is very vocal and an independent soul with very much his own mind when it comes to obeying his mother's wishes!
I am very excited to watch this little fellow develop and equally keen to see him mature over the coming years, because I am quite certain that this is going to be a star of the future!
Olympic Ahorn competed at top International level and consistently placed in World Cups and Grand Prix competitions representing the Netherlands in Nations Cup competitions and was short-listed for the Barcelona Olympics. Ahorn, whose progeny have earned over $1,000,000 in prize money, has been awarded keur status by the KWPN. Ahorn's sire is the world famous preferent stallion Nimmerdor., KWPN Stallion of the Century, and the Netherland's top sire of showjumpers to 1993. He became a Preferant Stallion approved by almost every Sporthorse and Warmblood breed society.
The dam of this superb foal; Ark Angel CS is by the incredible Olympic show jumper Arko III and out of a mare who jumped to 1.40 by the incredible Selle Francais Keur stallion Calvados, who competed at 1.60.
Her jumping pedigree is impeccable with Grand Prix and 1.60 jumpers featuring on virtually every line of both her dam and sires pedigree. Arko III represented Great Britain at the 2004 Athens Olympics which tops the lengthy list of outstanding International wins including the richest competition in the world, the Calgary CN Grand Prix 2008.
Arko's earning to date are over 1 million pounds and he was number one horse in Europe for three consecutive years.
Angels dam sire Calvados was bred from the best French performance bloodlines. Renowned as a leading sire of show jumpers as well as eventers and dressage horses. A Grand Prix show jumper himself, his sire the Selle Francais Uriel was leading French sire for many years with a breeding index of 211 (the highest figure ever in France). Although he was bred on a limited scale, he has numerous international offspring jumping at Grand Prix level.
This is a mare with a very talented family tree and I can honestly say that not only are there some very big names for this foal to live up to, but this is quite possibly, as I have already said, one of the two last foals to be born who will be sired by Ahorn whose semen was stored over thirty years ago!!!
Who is on the look out for a potential future GP prospect...? This I one not to be missed by anybody seriously looking for a youngster with the pedigree and pizazz to make it to the top in some style!!
Nameless to date and still looking for something special to call him....

Before I start the belated catch ups for the first ten foals over the coming days, I would like to introduce you to the last of our 2024 arrivals.
This filly really is so absolutely exquisite in every which way, she is also charm, elegance and effortlessly inspirational in motion. She is tremendously light on her feet, so elevated, uphill and expressive. This filly is a very smart, friendly and relaxed young lady who loves people and all the attention that she can wheedle out of anyone passing.
The dam of this foal is Quirilina Z is a Zangersheide mare who has jumped with success at 1.20 on an FEI passport before being sold to an amateur owner. She is a big, powerfully built horse with absolutely outstanding movement, balance and speed. She has a superb jumping pedigree and enormous scope over a fence.
Her sire Quirifino Z successfully competed for several years at 1.60m with Ben Maher, coming 4th in the Hickstead Derby among numerous other winnings at Grand Prix level, including competing at the Global Champions Tour 2009 & 2010.
He is a very versatile stallion having produced both showjumpers and eventers. He is renowned for passing his laid back nature to his offspring.
Quidam de Revel, Quirifino's sire is one of the most influential breeding stallions of all time. His offspring are highly sought after as they have huge scopey jumps, but remain ultra careful. In 2004 Quidam topped the World Breeding Championships jumping stallion ratings for the second year, establishing him as the pre-eminent (and most expensive) living sire of showjumping horses.
Quirifino's dam sire Grosso Z produced the international jumping star Goldfever and the international dressage stallion Goethe. Her damsire Lorentin I is a famous Holsteiner dressage stallion which may well explain her phenomenal movement!
This stunning filly's sire is none other than GFS Illuminati.. His sire is also a home bred, GFS Eskimo Jo whose exceptional Holstein bloodlines (Corrado I (Cor de la Bryere x Landgra/Caletto) make this beautiful foal a true future show jumping prospect.. His dam was also a retired show jumper with many successes BSJA, with jumping successes at 1.20 and by the International SJ stallion Hogwart and whose breeding is also quite phenomenal.
I would have loved to have kept this remarkable foal, but I think she is destined to wow the show jumping circuit and will therefore regretfully be offered to an ambitious home and hopefully produce many future successes...

Here we have our penultimate 2024 foal photographed at birth and two days later. This is a gorgeous filly by none other than the legendary Ahorn who is also the sire of the stunning chestnut c**t born to Angel. This little darling is another little miracle as the semen used is 28 years old!
This filly arrived stomping, squealing and had attempted to kick everyone in attendance before she was even steady on her feet, her little ears laid back flat against her neck as she determined exactly who was responsible for feeding her and feeding her immediately! I did think for a moment that we had been presented with the most satanic of creatures for a moment and feared what was to come...
However, I am ecstatic to now report that the following day, the anticipated Antichrist is in fact an absolute angel. Once she had established that she was in fact the centre of attention and had landed into an agreeable situation, she has indeed become Miss Congeniality and everybody's best friend; a shameless show off, incredibly self important and very independent, she is a precocious little madam who is adored by all and the boldest, smartest, funniest and friendliest foal we have ever seen emerge as a character so soon after drawing their first breath, although the other Ahorn foal is quite similar.....clearly a family thing!
Ahorn is descended from the famous Holstein family 242, and is related to Joost, Alcatraz and Locarno. His mother produced 4 approved stallions, and so far, 3 international showjumpers. Ahorn competed at the top international level, consistently placing in World Cups and Grand Prix competition. He represented the Netherlands in Nation's Cup competitions and was short-listed for the Barcelona Olympics, which earned him the prefix 'Olympic'.
Ahorn's offspring perpetuate their sire's success, with a large number competing at international level and up to Olympic level.
Ahorn is a fantastic producer of broodmares as well as top competition horses, he produced 8 graded sons. In recognition of his outstanding contribution to Dutch breeding, Ahorn has been awarded Preferent status by the KWPN.
Dolanda the dam of this foal is an eleven year old retired International Grade A show jumper with winnings in excess of £22,000 having jumped consistently up to 1.40. On the Sunshine Tour she won ten out of her twelve classes.
Sired by Ultimo (Phin Phin/Burggraaf) and out of a Wellington - Nimmerdor dam. This is a sire who remains high on the index despite not having sired large numbers before being sold to China. He had great success at 1.45 and 1.50 in Austria.
His sire Phin Phin, son of Olympian Chin Chin was a GP stallion with numerous international wins at both 1.50 and 1.60.
Her dam is by Wellington, his dam Patty is by the famed thoroughbred Lucky Boy and is also the G.dam of our own Wantasia! He competed up to Z level in dressage as well as having national success jumping at 1.30.
I believe this filly will almost certainly be one, if not the last Olympic Ahorn foals ever born and possibly the cheekiest!
