🐾 POLICIES 🐾
My policies must be agreed to by the owner of the dog prior to the groom or the groom will not go ahead.
CANCELLATIONS
We understand things can change and appointments may need to be cancelled. If an appointment must be cancelled 24-hours’ notice is required. If the 24 hours’ notice is not given 50% of the price of the groom will be requested prior to booking another appointment. You will not be able to book another appointment until the balance is paid.
NO SHOW
If you do not come to the appointment the full cost of the groom is required – you will not be able to book another appointment until this is paid.
ARRIVING ON TIME
Please endeavour to arrive to your appointment on time – I understand if you are running late but please be aware this will have a knock-on effect on myself and my other clients.
If you are more than 15 minutes late, I may have to cancel the appointment and the full cost of the groom may be charged. You will be unable to book another appointment with me until this is paid in full.
When you drop off your dog – please be aware that a late pick up fee of £10 per 10 minutes will be added to the groom as this has an impact of my other clients.
MATTED DOGS AND SHAVE OFFS DUE TO MATTING
I can shave off matted dogs – I will assess the dog at drop off and inform you or whoever drops off the dog that a shave off is required. I will always try to keep as much length as possible but under the Animal Welfare Act 2006 I may need to clip off the bulk of the coat to prevent pain and suffering. There is a matting fee attached to this – this is not a fix price and will depend on that condition of the coat and the impact this has on my time and equipment. (This includes prolonged de-matting which is painful and detrimental to the welfare of the dog. If your dog requires more than 20mins of de-matting, then a shave off will be required.)
I recommend if a dog has a clip off due to matting, they are initially placed on a 6-week grooming schedule to help manage the coat as it re-grows. This can be reviewed after the first 6-week appointment
FLEAS
Please do not bring your dog to your appointment if it has fleas. Please treat your dog at least 72 hours prior to its appointment. I will charge a flea fee if I find fleas on your dog while grooming them – this is not fixed and depends on the time it takes me to clean down the salon and use an environmental flea treatment to make it safe for other dogs.
HOT WEATHER
Please do not walk your dog to the salon if it is hot.
I may need to reschedule appointments if it is too hot in the salon for the dog or myself to work. I will work with you to reschedule as soon as possible.
AGGRESSIVE DOGS/BEHAVIOUR
It is a legal requirement to inform groomers of a bite history in any setting.
If you dog becomes aggressive and it's no longer safe for me to continue, I will try to use a muzzle to make myself and your dog safe, if this does not help I will need to end the groom and contact you straight away. The full price of the groom will be required on collection of your dog. If your dog bites me then there will be an extra charge – this is not fixed.
Please note that I work alone in the salon at all times so will work as hard as possible to complete the groom but if your dog is too stressed or aggressive for me to groom I will have to stop the groom – this it to protect your dog and myself. I reserve the right to charge for the groom in full. Please make me aware before the groom of any previous issues your dog has had with the grooming process, so I am able to keep them as safe as possible.
PAYMENT
Full payment must be made at the time of collection of the dog.
