I just love this weather! A busy walking day so was glad my husband had the day off and took my boy this morning!

Awesome A was lovely and calm and doing well with some heel work today.

Miss D and Mr D were more relaxed again today, reacting positively or ignoring dogs we met.

Master O had loads of fun hunting for gremlins and mooching!

Little Wolf had a chilled out wander while I enjoyed the amazing scenery.

A lovely day today and the pups all had a great time.

My boy was at his favourite place and had a really good run around, he's doing so well just now with his regular reiki.

The Big Man and Miss P had loads of fun tearing around at breakneck speed! He kept chasing her back when he thought she'd gone too far (her recall is amazing).

Little Wolf had a chilled out walk and we only met one dog in the distance who we see regularly

I took my boy out on his own this morning, he had a great time and of course found his favourite muddy puddle!

Roxi and I met Oliver and Gimli, her buddies from when Claire covered her walks. A good sniff around one of her old haunts and fun with her pals.

Awesome A was doing well with his heel work then he met a new pal and was a bit wired! The dog was lovely and they had a wee play then I had the job of calming him down 🤣 A scatter and using his brain and he settled again!

We have wee Roxi to stay this week while my parents have a week in the sun. She had a lovely wander with my boy this morning while he had a good stretch out too.

Awesome A had a short wander and had great fun with treat scatters and I worked on his heel work too.

Miss P and The Big Man had loads of fun in the field today, lots of chasing around, sniffing and she found another deer but didn't bother it at all!

Little Wolf had a bit of a charge round today, a nice quiet walk ❤🐾🐾

North third reservoir is currently affected by blue-green algae, especially by the dam wall. This can be highly poisonous and possibly fatal to some dogs. Please be extra careful with your dogs if walking in this area. I've shared a picture a friend has taken and a link to research if you need further information.

Being able to put yourself in your dog's shoes is a big part of managing your dog's arthritis.

When a dog is in pain, they are understandably more cautious about how they move, and more worried about how others treat them.

Understanding your dog's physical and mental state at any given time means that you can plan accordingly when it comes to introducing new interventions and parts of their management plan.

There will be times when they are less able to engage and learn, so understanding their physical AND mental state means you can adapt their management plan accordingly.
If their pain cycle is under control and well managed, introducing new interventions can be a happier process.

3 walks today starting with my boy. He's desperate for me to throw a ball in that puddle and it isn't happening as I know he'd pay for it later!

Miss D and Mr T had a great walk through the leaves, doing much better when we meet other dogs and looking treats!

Little Wolf met his wee spaniel pal today and had a couple of howls for no real reason!

What a gorgeous day, I love this time of year. It's been snowing leaves and pine needles!

My boy had the woods to himself this morning then met a couple of regular pups near the end of his walk.

The Big Man and Miss P had a slow and sniffy walk today with some playtime instigated by Miss P near the end.

Master O and Miss T has fun looking for gremlins today, he's showing her the ropes 🤣 And of course she had to run around at break neck speed while he did more snuffling. She tires me out just watching her!

Little Wolf had a long, quiet walk through the woods and onto the grass. We got back just in time to miss a rain shower.

What a lovely day and it was nice and quiet which is very unusual for a Monday for me! A few life bits done between walks.

My boy had a slightly shorter walk this morning as he was looking a wee bit stiff. He still had a great time and a stretch out.

The Big Man and Miss P had a chilled out walk today, he wanted to play but she wasn't interested. They're taking seeing lots of people out working near where we walk in their stride.

Little Wolf met a lovely dog I see regularly and was quite relaxed about it. He had a wee howl at a pup in the distance too!

A fantastic vet, my boy loves his regular acupuncture with Ellen ❤️🐾🐾

Recently we have had a couple of people getting in touch thinking that what we do is similar to some of the viral animal manipulation videos doing the rounds.

Chiropractic for animals should be joint specific and very quick which lessens the force required to deliver the necessary adjustment (I.e. high velocity, low amplitude). The art of chiropractic is finding the joint(s) restricted and using an adjustment to re-initiate optimal motion thereby improving the neurology and motion.

When your animal attends the clinic or we visit your horse, time is taken to make sure they're happy and content to be examined and treated. Watching adjustments is often relatively dull and minimal.

Videos showing fore limb leg separations and massive jerking movements or extreme animal reactions is not chiropractic.

Prong collars are not ethical, kind or nice to put on dogs. There is absolutely nothing that can be taught using a prong collar that can't be taught using ethical dog training. Don't let anyone ever convince you that any dog ever needs a prong collar on. Dogs deserve our kindness and understanding, not people who want to stick metal spikes on their beautiful tender necks and throats.

A quieter day today with my boy having a good run around and of course finding a deep puddle to splash around in! He's had a great snooze while I did 2 walks and a reiki with my son taking over the brain training/moving around duties!

It was Handsome H's last regular walk with me today, this boy is super friendly and loved the start of his walk today as he met a few human and canine friends, he was one very happy boy! I'm going to miss him lots but hopefully he'll be back for the odd day or two so I'll see him now and again. It's been an absolute pleasure getting to know and walk this boy as well as do some reiki for him last year.

Master O went to one of his favourite places where he could hunt down lots of dens for Gremlins. It was freezing but he didn't seem to mind as it was dry. He has a lovely heated blanket at home and I'm told he's currently snuggled under it! One lucky boy ❤🐾🐾

It's a bit wild out there! I had to take my daughter to work, there is localised flooding at all the usual spots, a few large branches on the roads (one near Canada wood blocking one side of the road) and lots of tree debris so take care if you're out and about.

My boy tanked it on his walk this morning! Now snuggled up with his drying coat. Thankfully my reiki clients today have been great and happy to do distance to keep my travel to a minimum 💞

I think I managed to miss the worst of the weather today!

My daughter wanted to practise her leash belay skills after our course last weekend so she came out with my boy and I this morning. Much easier with a dog on the end and he doesn't really pull so an easy start for her. She did really well but it did feel strange to me just walking without a dog attached to me!

Miss D and Mr T were amazing today, we went somewhere they know quite well with some open spaces which they are much more relaxed in. I did lots of work with them to reduce any anxiety, to keep them focused on me when I needed them to be and to just enjoy being out and doing what they enjoy doing and they both smashed it. Even the rain stopped for us!

Little Wolf had his usual woodland wander and only met one of his wee buddies today. We did get caught in a bit of rain but we're getting used to that!

A busy day today with 4 dog walks and an impromptu hack with my daughter on a borrowed pony to save me walking any more! Although my legs will be sore in other ways as it's so long since I've ridden but I absolutely loved it!

My boy loved his woodland wander this morning, loads of sniffing and he's learning some new tricks in the garden too to keep his mind active.

The Big Man and Miss P had a chilled out walk doing what they love best. He was rolling around with a ball while she did some focus and treat work. Happy pups.

Master O and Miss T really are best buddies, lots of fun in the field. She tore around while he hunted down Gremlins and made sure he came back from the off piste tracks.

Little Wolf had a very sociable walk today meeting a few dogs he sees regularly which is great to see. A few howls which he does when he likes someone or another dog ❤🐾🐾

A short walk for my boy this morning as he had his acupuncture appointment. He's been asleep for most of the day now!

Handsome H had a good wander then a short play with what I assume is his new Halloween skeleton toy! He then had a wee bit of reiki at the end, he lies down if he doesn't want to play so I do some reiki for him.

Master O and I went off piste again now things are dying back a little. Still managed to lose a path but that's par for the course! I'm sending my boy up to teach him treat searches, he needs some practise 🤣

Question- what do you do with an empty box filled with paper wrapping before recycling it?

Answer-give it to your dog with food or treat wrapped up in all different ways and work their brain! Watch that tail go, one happy boy with no cost to me! He's still playing around with it 5 mins later. I think his next trick will be to put the paper in the recycling bin 🤣

I have well and truly used my new leash skills today and what a game changer they are!

My boy has used the belay from yesterday so I could practise, he's not really a puller so ideal to practise and add in a few extras. It's such a softer way to walk him and he was very relaxed. I'm used to working with longlines so it was fairly easy for me to pick up.

Next up was Handsome H who sets off at a fast trot, I used the belay with him and what a difference! He slowed down to a more manageable speed with just the softest of moves using the belay and no stress on my back.

I then had the Big Man and Miss P who are super excited at the start of their walks. I didn't use the belay with them as I need to get some extra bits to walk 2 dogs together on it but I used a few of the new leash tricks Grisha showed us to slow them up. It is a work in progress but they were much better even on their first attempt. Miss P was trotting nicely alongside me by the end without being asked to.

Little Wolf took a bit longer to get used to it but soon settled into it once we got to the woods.
