Gertie and I finished our Scent Detection Level 3 today at SpiritedDog Training&Behaviour. We’ve had such a wonderful group and it’s been really good fun, we are looking forward to seeing them again at Sniffers Club 🐾
Highly recommend Lauren’s courses to improve your bond with your dog and to learn some new skills 😊

🥺 last walk with the ‘Snouts’ today before they move house across Kent. Ken aka Kenneth aka K-Dog has been a member of the HDW Crew since January 2022, Luna joined the family in September of that year and I’ve had the pleasure of their company on walks ever since. Both have their idiosyncrasies but I shall miss them (and their owner) very much 😢

That was rather a breezy one today, although not the 50mph winds forecast, I was glad to finish my fourth and last walk of the day and get all the dogs safely back home. We found some lovely signs of spring at Mount Ephraim Gardens though 🌼 🐾

I’m officially bored of all this rain, I’ve never seen this footpath flooded before and yes we made a detour! Only to get caught in the mother of all downpours half an hour from home, you have to laugh or you’d cry 😏

Another reason to be grateful that I’m a dog walker, I’m not sure what we’d have done this week if I hadn’t been able to take Gertie to work with me. She’s been displaying terrible separation anxiety following Dougie’s death on Sunday, not entirely unexpected as he’s been a constant in her life since she joined us. We are going to have to work hard to slowly build up to being able to leave her home alone, but in the meantime she’s loved spending time with these wonderful dogs this week 🐾

We had to have our beautiful boy Dougie pts this evening 💔 He was only 7 but had epilepsy, amongst many other health conditions. This evening he had cluster seizures and despite emergency anti convulsant meds, he just wasn’t coming out of them. We had to make the hardest decision but felt it was the right one for him. Heartbroken 😔

Gertie and I have been doing IMDT Partnership Grades with SpiritedDog Training&Behaviour. Last night she graduated Level 2 and she was SO proud of her rosette when she got home that she insisted on bustling round the house showing everyone 😂

It’s Christmas!!! This house in Boughton puts up the most amazing display, for charity, every year. It’s this puppy’s first Christmas and he had great fun today checking out all the decorations, I think he was hoping for some edible ones though 🤣🎄🎅🏼 🐾
