Large cat tree was donated
Boxes were salvaged from our old cat tree and reupholstered by us, using dotty fabric from Kay’s cats and Kitten scratchers.

Floor to ceiling scratcher was made from the thick cardboard tube the new flooring came wrapped around. We cut it to size and covered it with elasticated scratch tape, again from Kay’s cats and kitten scratchers.
Shelves are from IKEA, we added the scratch tape running along the centre to help grip.
What is a Happy Kitty Blanket?

We’ve had a lot of new page likes over the last few days (lots of maincoon mums I believe😻) so I thought I’d give a quick introduction as to who/what we are.
Happy kitty blankets started as a little something I was whipping up for stray/rescue cats. My husband and I (and our two gorgeous children), foster for a local cat rescue charity, so we see many cats of all different temperaments, mostly very anxious.
After a lot of research and trial and error we came up with a mixture of dried plants each with their own properties that cats would respond to. So the cat should react, based on what they are experiencing at the time. So an anxious cat could calm down, a shy cat could want to play etc.
We started using them for the rescues and sending them away with our foster cats whenever they were adopted as well as making them for friends. We started getting requests to purchase them, and here we are.
This is a labour of love more than it is a profitable business. We still supply the rescue, we still give them away with our fosters and we donate money from every jar sold to the rescue as well. Plus we try and use the best and most eco friendly products possible. Hence we don’t offer many discounts or sales, truth is, we just can’t afford to.
Around 30%-50% of cats lack the gene that makes them react to catnip. Our blankets are scented with a MIXTURE of different plants, so even cats that don’t react to catnip have had success with Happy Kitty Blankets.
The plants are all safe for cats but we still insist that the scent packet is not for eating, so please keep it sealed in the jar away from prying paws.
If stored correctly, the sachets can last about a year.
