Sadly Terry has been returned. 2 year old Terry came to us after being in the pound and unclaimed. He had been attacked by another dog causing some awful injuries. This has left him scared and stressed around other animals. He has gone into foster and doing well. We are working with a behaviourist to help him.
He had some issues in his new home, most likely linked to not getting the right mental and physical exercise so was redirecting to other things like trying to get out of the garden, triggered by things like brooms, washing line poles etc. which sounds more like he’s been hit with these type of items and tries to protect himself.
He needs a lot of exercise as he is a young terrier and very little exercise causes him stress and anxiety.
He can happily be left for up to 4 hours.
He’s clean in the house and will sleep through the night with no issues.
Terry needs an active home ideally with family who enjoy the outdoors, hiking and walking for hours.
Support from a behaviourist will be given - Terry will need time and patience to settle into his surroundings and decompress and will need training .
Ideally someone who has had terriers before - he his head strong.
He does pull on the lead but is getting better.
When he trusts you he loves you but you have to ensure that you are the boss
No children or other pets. He’s now no reactive to dogs out on a walk but if a dog comes at him he will react due to his terrible ordeal with dogs.
His foster mum says
‘Walks so much better on the lead now and much better passing other dogs. No problems with his bedding, loves cuddles on sofa and playing with his toys. He is a very lovable little boy’
Terry is not for the faint hearted but once he trusts and has some training he will be an amazing companion.

Born 13/01/2022. She come into our care from racing kennels but has never raced.
She is a very active girl full of fun and energy. Good with other dogs she was kennelled with 2 others and has gone into a foster home with three male greyhounds.
She does have a high prey drive so will need a home with either another similar sized dog or an only dog and owners that understand what this means.
No cats or small furries.
Older children over 12 as she may knock younger ones over when playing or running around and is also a little unsure. She is a gorgeous young girl who will make a great addition to a family she is full of life and makes you smile with her antics.
Apple is crate trained and happy to be left for a few hours but does need a good size garden to run around as she loves a game with her toys or football. Apple loves to run so you will need to have access to hire a secure field to let her stretch her legs.

Meet Astrid. Astrid is an ex racing greyhound. D.O.B. 7/4/2021
She’s come in with Beetlejuice but has recently gone into a foster with a male and female greyhound.
She seems good around other dogs but must be careful around smaller ones. No cats or small furries.
Older children only.
Astrid has come on well with meeting other dogs and had been in a house for a little while when she injured her leg. She’s clean in the house and sleeps through the night in a crate. She’s now been in foster after her cut leg has healed. Learning how to be a dog and doing amazing. She loves a good fuss and happy to snuggle. She does need to be muzzled when meeting new dogs and around smaller ones but she’s getting better every day. This is what her foster Dad has to say:

She loves playing with her male companion having a mad 5 minutes of zoomies
She is meeting smaller dogs and the other day met two sausage dogs sniffed and licked them
She has a boyfriend called Max he is a German Shepherd
She is like a puppy she wants to know and play with everything
She is now house trained
Astrid is coming out of herself and has a cracking personality and is loving life in a home.

He’s a stunning looking boy.
Very friendly, calm lad and was kennelled with Astrid.
Seems good around other dogs of his own size but care must be taken around smaller breeds so advisable to walk with a muzzle on at all times. Can be reactive with small dogs on a walk due to not being around them previously and only seen greyhounds. So will need work socialising with all breeds of dog. He is getting a lot better and less reactive. They do come round with a little more work.
No cats or small furries and older children as he is a big boy. His prey drive is very high so a home who has sighthound experience a must. Will need more training and socialisation.
Good on lead but can sometimes pull. He will make a great family member. He’s very loving and definitely a people dog.
