Reunited after 16 years 🧡
This is incredible and shows just how important microchips are. Ruby went missing 16 years ago and has recently been found not far from home.
She is now 20 years old. We wish she could talk and tell us where she has been all this time.
Stories like this show why it is so important to never lose hope. No matter how much time has passed, reunions really can still happen.
This reunion was only possible because someone noticed Ruby and took her to be scanned. If they hadn’t, she wouldn’t have been able to be reunited with her family, who might never have seen her again. This is why we always say if you see a cat and wonder if they have an owner, there is no harm in checking. You could be the reason a family gets their cat back. We are not saying take healthy cats, just that it’s okay to check for owners.
If your cat is missing, keep going. Keep putting up posters and leaflets in your area, and widen your search a little more each time. Keep sharing, keep asking, and keep looking.
Microchips are so important and can work incredibly well, even after many years. They give cats the best chance of finding their way back to the people who love them.Even when the news isn’t what we hope for, sometimes having answers and closure really matters . 🩷
So remember:
✅ Never lose hope
✅ Get your cats microchipped
✅ There’s no harm in checking if a cat has an owner 🧡
