π This is Effys 2nd session, her distance of tolerance to other dogs 2 weeks ago was non existent and she is very dog reactive.
π Training so far has been focusing on making sure she feels safe, has freedom of choice and working at her pace.
π Most importantly, the main focus has been teaching her person to look for the micro signals of stress or anxiety, to address it wayyyy before it's put of hand.
π We've also worked on breathing to stay calm as well as good leash and line handling skills. Taking tension out of the equation.
π Ideally Effy would be in a harness and not on a collar but she finds her harness aversive. So we'll also work back into it with counter conditioning and positive reinforcement.

This morning, we got the big man's 4 wheel drive sorted! Lizi Kiddier spent the past couple of days, getting him used to the new object being around the house as well as getting him used to wearing the harnesses.
First time using his wheels (vet recommendation), and he smashed it! Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks π
