Lacey’s Ponies , life after polo

A full loan offered with fees … and contract with Lacey’s ponies .

A project needing a kind, confident home, this lovely mare is around 16.2 and is a dark bay thoroughbred.

In June last year, she had an op for a twisted gut. She has fully recovered and is sound. Stands well for farrier, good to catch, good on the ground. Hates the stable during the day will weave (fine with anti weave bars) if left in after breakfast, she will stable walk. Happy at night and likes to lay down to sleep.

She is good to tack up but will pull faces for the girth. Good to groom, rug out of the stable, not a fan in the stable she will go to nip you.

Good to pick out feet. Has only hacked alone once, looked around a lot and was forward on the way home but not silly. Hasn't been backed for 10 months. Doesn't have any tack.

To keep going and offer the rehoming and therapy , I am having to offer my lovely pure Lusitano for sale , this is a difficult sale.
She ridden in walk trot and canter and has a very trainable attitude and very quick leaner , she has BIG paces and would excell at dressage her grandfather being an international GP horse representing Brazil at WEG .
She is fully registered , and can be seen 30min from Porto airport a quick hop from Stansted ,
Questura was turned out and loved naturally in a herd for the first three years of her life and has been brought on slowly over the last year professionally by the stud owner whom
I trust and has done a truly wonderful job . There will be no bad experiences as she has been brought on sympathetically by one of the best horse people I know .

Having taken time to go to the memorial in the village for 11am , observing the silence and teaching my youngest why we do this … hopefully what we are trying to accomplish here will help those that serve in any capacity and those that do return

Still looking for his home , after a no show this morning :-/
PLEASE READ , only enquire if you are happy with a pony that likes to only hack in company , as he will plant himself if alone ( not with another horse )
No jumping as he is 23 years young and had a long polo career ,
Chilli is a lovely easy boy to handle in all ways , he loaded and travelled like a dream.
Walks away from others in the field perfectly ( but is vocal he has a bit of a girly call 🥰)
Very chilled out character , but does not exercise in a school Environment alone ; he will just turn and walk to the exit and stand and wait for you to put him back in his field ,
Any applicant MUST have all year turn out .

Chilli is now taking applications , he is a 23 year old gelding , hacking horse , in company as he can plant himself if alone ( nothing dangerous ) he’s so friendly and easy to care for…. If you have ideas of working him in a school must have other horses as he just turns and walks to the gate and ignores your aids! 😂🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️…
I have exercised him leading off another horse with no probs in a large indoor school.
Homes must have all year turn out as he is older and not to be in a stable all winter !
He’s a lovely type and branded so maybe from Argentina?

Our lovely boy Chilli , has been with us three weeks .. he has come to be rehomed as a hack , he retired at 23 years young and is just a beautiful soul with lots of life left in him yet. Please please please think about giving so I can continue to rehome these wonderful ex polo ponies to fabulous new homes and give them a secure long term future.…. Also to help fund the equine trauma healing …. We are so close to getting started now ❤️ helping those that have suffered trauma with somatic exercises and using the ponies to help the healing process through sessions with our ponies .

A bit quiet here today as the youngest member of the Lacey’s Ponies / equine traumahealing family went out to her first show riding her own pony Florence a Falabella mare in her mid 20’s .. well done on your Rosette 🏵️
