Hey alpha be training gurus! I had lovely walk and train session with Mabli today. She was sporting some new gear - a fabulous new lead and a snazzy new collar! 💫 Today we focused on her wait command and we made some great progress. I didn't give the command with me, and she stayed in place like a pro! So proud of her! 🐾 #trainingday #dogsoffacebook #puppypower #newgear #gooddoggy #balanceddogtraining #dogtraining #AlphaBDogTraining
Hey everyone, today on Ludo's walk, he had to face the strong wind and it definitely made things a little more challenging for him during his training. I made sure to respect that the wind was affecting him and didn't get discouraged from last week's amazing training session. Ludo still did an amazing job despite the difficult conditions, and I tried to give him plenty of breaks from the wind.
It's important to recognize and accommodate for external factors that can impact our pets' ability to focus and perform during training. I'm proud of Ludo for pushing through and doing his best today, and I'm confident that with continued patience and understanding, we'll be able to overcome these challenges together.

Good morning everyone! 🐾 Today, the very first walk and training session of my day was with the legendary cockapoo, Rupert. We focused on his loose lead walking and engagement, just simply stopping and encouraging that engagement. It's so important to constantly work on these skills to ensure a harmonious and enjoyable walking experience for both Rupert and myself. 🚶🏻♂️🐶
He’s an avid sniffer so building this engagement takes time and patience.

Today's weight dependence play was all about gun dogs, and it was an absolute blast! I added three more Labradors to my day, including my long lost buddy Alfie who I haven’t seen for soooo long , and not forgetting Daisy, who is half Labrador, half spaniel. It was such a joy to see them all enjoying themselves on what could only be described as a pack walk reunion with Whiskey, alfie and Daisy. With the added awesomeness that is Harry who fit right in from the start. It's been too long since we last got together, and I'm so grateful for the opportunity to reconnect with old friends and welcome new ones into our group.
Thank you to everyone who joined us today! It was truly an awesome experience, and I can't wait for our next adventure together. 🐾

Had a lovely walk with Rio today!! We had lots of fun 🫶🏽
If you are in buckley or surrounding areas or know anyone who is looking for a dog walker i am always available!! Hope to see some of your pooches soon 🐶🤍
Today at Alpha B Dog Training, Luna had a successful walk and training session to see how well her loose lead skills have progressed. We decided that Frodsham market would be the perfect place to put her to the test, with the hustle and bustle of people, other dogs, and tempting items on the stalls.
I'm pleased to report that Luna passed with flying colours even when a stranger pushed her hand in her face!
However, we still have some work to do on her "leave it" command, especially when she's in close proximity to other dogs. It's all part of the ongoing training process, and I'm confident that Luna will continue to make great progress.

🐾 Join us this Saturday for our Alpha B Dog Training group classes! Whether you have a new puppy or an older dog, our classes are designed to benefit both you and your furry friend in so many ways.
Why are group classes so beneficial, you ask? Well, for starters, proper socialization is key for your dog's development. It's important for them to learn how to interact with other dogs and humans in a controlled environment. Additionally, learning neutrality around distractions is crucial for their overall obedience. Our classes also focus on teaching you how to effectively communicate with your dog, which is essential for building a strong bond and mutual understanding.
One of the best parts about our group classes is the opportunity to meet other like-minded dog owners. It's a chance to build a support system and learn from each other's experiences. Not to mention, watching other dogs in action can be incredibly beneficial for learning and motivation.
At Alpha B Dog Training, we believe in creating a dynamic and tailored learning environment for both dogs and owners. Our classes are not about marching around in a sterile military fashion, but rather about building a strong foundation of obedience and life skills that will translate to real-life situations.
This Saturday, we have two classes available: Puppies at 9am (for dogs up to a year old) and Adults at 10am (for dogs over 6 months old). If you have a dog between 6-12 months, you can choose the class that best suits their needs and abilities.
So, if you're looking to enhance your dog's training and socialization skills, come join us this Saturday for a fun and productive class! Don't miss out on this opportunity to bond with your dog and meet other dog lovers like yourself.

Today was our second walk and training session with the devilishly handsome kudu, and I must say, he's already come a long way in just a few short days. Our focus for today was to continue building his engagement with me. I've been working on ensuring that when he looks at me, it's not just a quick glance in anticipation of a treat. Instead, we're aiming for a longer, more focused look that indicates genuine engagement.
It's all about building that connection and trust between us, and I'm thrilled to see the progress he's making. This kind of training takes time and patience, but it's incredibly rewarding to see the results.

To sniff or not to sniff? 🐾 That is the eternal question when it comes to walking our dogs. While it’s important to let our furry friends explore and take in the scents of the world around them, it’s also important to set some boundaries.
So today on lunas walk and train I showed some examples on how we can let them sniff on the walk and by giving them a breaker command.
Sniffing is a natural behavior for dogs and it’s how they learn about their surroundings, but it’s also important for them to understand that the walk is a mutual activity. Finding a balance between allowing our dogs to sniff and keeping them moving is key.

🐾 Another busy day at Alpha B Dog Training! Our head walker Glynn had his hands full with our furry friends today. Blue the bully kept him on his toes with constant games of fetch, while Boo the frenchy and Ava the bully enjoyed exploring and sniffing around. Otis the black lab had a blast running around the woodland, and Gracie the gsd and Luna the husky mix had a fun game of chase. And of course, Lexi the gsd took her time to leisurely sniff around for any scraps on their walk.
It's always heartwarming to see our dogs enjoying their time outdoors, getting the exercise and mental stimulation they need. Glynn did an amazing job of keeping all our pups happy and content during their non training walking session.
if you're interested in booking kennels for your furry friend, don't forget that you can ask us for recommendations . We are in touch with a local kennels where the dogs are a safe and comfortable place for to stay while you're away or busy
We love seeing our furry friends having a great time, and we know you do too! Share your own pet's adventures with us using the hashtags #AlphaBDigTraining and #HappyPawsHappyHearts. Let's spread the love for our four-legged companions! 🐶💕
Hey everyone! 🐾 Glynn, our head dog walker, had some amazing walks today with our furry friends. Mabli, the miniature schnauzer, enjoyed a good sniff around off lead, while Otis, the black lab, had a blast playing fetch. Max, the xl bully, strutted around on his extendable lead, running and sniffing in the grass. Boo the Frenchy and Ava the bully both had a lovely time sniffing around on lead. And Rio, the cockerpoo, couldn't contain his excitement, running as fast as he could with occasional sniff breaks. Hey there, dog lovers! 🐕🦺🐾 Today, we want to take a closer look at the role of dopamine in your dog's training journey and how it can make a huge difference in changing their mindset, reducing stress, and improving overall well-being.
So, what exactly is dopamine? Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that plays a major role in reward-motivated behavior and is often referred to as the "feel-good" chemical. When it comes to dog training, understanding how to trigger a release of dopamine can significantly impact your dog's learning and behavior.
One way to create a dopamine hit for your dog is by using a reward event, rather than just handing them a treat. This could mean incorporating fast and exclusive movements that your dog enjoys, such as spins or playing tug. By offering a reward that is not only enjoyable but also exciting, you can help create a positive association and increase their motivation to learn and perform.
Have you ever noticed that your dog loves a little bit of rough play? Jumping on you or engaging in a playful tug of war can be an excellent way to create a dopamine hit for them. Next time you reward your dog, consider if how you're delivering the reward is going to be enough to create that hit of dopamine, or if it is just a short-term reward with less long-lasting effects.
We want to make training an energy-explosive, fun, and exciting experience for your furry friend. By understanding what your dog likes and incorporating activities that stimulate the release of dopamine, you can make training sessions more effective and enjoyable for both you and your pup.
So, let's start incorporating more play, movement, and exciting rewards into our training sessions to create a positive and lasting impact on our dog's behavior. 🥳🦴

🐾 At Alpha B Dog Training, we believe in supporting all dog owners, especially those with reactive dogs. We understand the challenges and frustrations that come with owning a reactive dog and we are dedicated to providing the necessary support and training to help both the dog and their owner.
It's important for the general public to understand that a reactive dog is not always a result of bad ownership. There are many factors that could contribute to a dog's reactivity, such as genetics, past experiences, or being a rescue. It can be incredibly difficult for owners of reactive dogs, as their daily lives are often impacted and restricted by their dog's behavior.
As members of the public, it's crucial that we respect the wishes of owners of reactive dogs. If an owner asks for space or for their dog to be left alone, it's important to honor those requests. This means refraining from attempting to approach, talk to, or touch the dog. Additionally, if you see an owner trying to control their reactive dog, it's best to keep your distance and not allow your own dogs or children to approach.
In situations where you do need to pass by a reactive dog, it's helpful to keep your distance and not stand still with your dog facing towards the reactive dog. If you're able to distract your dog and take a wide berth without stopping, it would be incredibly beneficial for the owner and their dog.
Lastly, a simple understanding smile can go a long way for owners of reactive dogs. They often feel judged and scrutinized during their walks, so showing support and empathy can make a significant difference.
Let's work together to raise awareness and support owners of reactive dogs. By showing understanding and respect, we can create a more positive and inclusive environment for all dog owners and their furry companions. 🐶

Who remembers Molly? 🐾 Of course you do, she's a regular feature on our social media! Molly joins us on our pack walks, and in order to join us she has to have either come to a class or had a walk and train with us here at Alpha B dog training.
Today, being Friday, was her regular walk and train session with me. During walk and trains we work on loose lead walking, reactivity, obedience training, exposure, desensitisation and much more.
Molly's session today involved working on separation from Tory (who she’s become quite attached to when walking), down in the pub, and some agility exercises using the world around us. You don't always need to buy equipment, there's plenty to use in the environment - park benches to jump over and go under, bins & posts to go around, there's so much out there!
If you want to see more of Molly's progress, be sure to follow our social media. And if you want to join us for a pack walk or a walk and train session, get in touch! 🐶 #AlphaBPackWalks #WalkAndTrain #DogTrainingJourney
Had a fantastic second walk and train session today with another lively and lovable cockerpoo, Ludo! 🐾 We worked on "leave it" training, and Ludo has been at it for a while, so we incorporated some more advanced techniques like dropping treats, using balls, and even utilizing his love for birds as a reward.
We also focused on improving his loose lead walking, even with the temptation of heading back home. It's important for our furry friends to have a nice walk, especially when crossing the road. Ludo did a fantastic job and showed great progress!
Looking forward to more training sessions with this adorable pup. Stay tuned for more updates on our walks and training sessions! 🐶 #CockerpooLove #PetTraining #DogLovers #GoodBoyLudo #WalkAndTrain #PawsAndRewards
Hey alpha b homies, you may remember Rupert - he’s the first of my Friday cockerpoo walk and trains. He’s such a lively and happy character, but he just loses focus and wants to sniff constantly. Sniffing for a dog is super natural, and we want to actively encourage it, but we need our pooches to be safe and engaged with us.
To help Rupert today, we went over the "leave it" command. This is such an important command to have in your arsenal, as it helps their impulse control and keeps them safe.
It’s important for our furry friends to have a balance of freedom and obedience, and teaching them commands like "leave it" helps to achieve that balance.
Do you have any tips for helping our pooches stay engaged during walks? Share them with us in the comments below! 🐶
