Volume up!!!
Ever heard a hedgehog dreaming???
Demonstrated by Ruben.
Bertie didn't like his upgrade . Just wouldn't settle. Gets up, eats 1 biscuit, paces around the front of the glass doors, claws to get out momentarily, runs back to bed , repeats every 2-3 mins. I let this go on for around half hr then I called him out and put him back in his original enclosure before he drove me absolutely bonkers!!!
Just baby dave getting comfy!
Sharing this update on Harry from his new hooman.
He likes his new garden. No, sorry, he LOVES his new garden. So much that no one else is allowed In π
Now now Harry, there's enough garden for everyone.
Who needs a guard dog eh??!
I've been sent this clip of Harry by his new hooman ...π
Here he goes zooming off back to bed in a hurry! (It's 4.20am and getting light!)
Wow, he's fast!
Harry you dirty stop out you!
Love how he's settled and clearly knows his way around.
Another hedgehog admitted today....by me!
Caught on cctv ...watch up in the top right ( at the bottom of the gate)
I don't go around looking for animals to save ,but they always seem to come out for help when I'm around .
As he comes through the gate and pauses , I know that I have to do the same ( hence the weird stance lol).
He makes his move...and so do I.
Rufus has been struggling with the heat so I plonked him on the sofa for a bit so he could stretch his legs and cool down.
I believe him to be blind and he just seems to taste everything and foam everywhere! π€¦ββοΈπ
New smell = anoint everything !
Been sent this clip of Harry by his new hooman in his fabulous new garden.
He looks like he's enjoying his hedgehoggy life .
Here he is finding the food station.
Stay safe Harry.
Love seeing how they're getting on after release .
SELF - ANOINTING.
Demonstrated here by Ruben, this behaviour never fails to make me giggle!
Volume up!
You can just about hear him chirping with happiness π
Mmmmm this sofa tastes nice!!!
WHY do I always end up with the wierdos??!!
On a happier note from me...
Posting conker his late night snacks... I'm soon to try releasing him... Again!
He WILL learn how to hedgehog even if he is a bit slow at it.
Mrs Tiggy is too funny! She tries to lap from the syringe with that looonnngg lizard tongue of hers! π. We now use a bowl instead π
How nice it is to learn how the released hedgehogs are getting on back in their own gardens once iv made them better... Feedback is always welcome as I often wonder how they're doing after iv sent them home.
So I'm sharing with you all a little insight as to how Spikey is doing. And she's doing just great! She clearly loves her house that was crafted by her hoomans. Couldnt have asked for a better outcome as it looks like shes sticking around β€
Just finished a feed with Ted and put him back on a warm, clean bed. Here he is up straight away before I had chance to close the door, rearranging it all. I clearly cannot make his bed to his liking. Obv I'm a rubbish hedgehog π
Always worth having a couple of hedgehog houses no matter where you are. At the yard, we've got a couple of hedgehogs so I put a couple of hog houses around, here he is coming back 'home'.
2 weeks on and Ted is still here fighting to survive.
Aswell as being old, got a growth by his ear ( which has shrank in size) he has been fighting off his internal parasites ( roundworm and Lungworm) . He's certainly a fighter as I didn't think he would cope with the meds but we had to try. Iv been feeding him a large percentage of his food via syringe as he was so weak.
If he hadn't been seen that night, he sure wudve perished out there by now.
Here he is having a feed... He let's me know when he's full / had enough by turning around and climbing up and giving me a big cuddle! π
Gave Ted here a medicated bath last night to wash away some of his oozy stench from around his face and to hopefully help heal up that lump a little bit.
Once bathed, hedgehogs need to be dried off which is quite difficult with so many spines so I wrap them up and rub the towel all over them which they don't seem to mind ( Ted seemed to enjoy it! Fell asleep shortly after this! Video of him nodding off in comments! π)
There's plenty to eat, no matter what species you are.
This one visits every night - been feeding foxes on my patio for years π
