Cancellations received or missed bookings 24 hours or less prior to the appointment = 100% of the service fee due. Cancellations must be made in writing by email, text or via my page. I kindly request, where possible, that a minimum of 2 days notice is given should you wish to alter or cancel your dog walk. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. :)

Thank you Ellesmere, it’s been a wonderful journey living in this beautiful part of the country 💖Thank you again for all the love and support.
Please continue to follow me as I develop my next venture in Anglesey , a doggy friendly holiday home 🫶🏻 But for now, I’m taking a much needed rest. 😴🥱😅

It’s been a very busy few days for Neli and I! Back and forth up the A5/A55, moving and carrying and loading and unloading 😅 We still had some time for some fun though , and for Neli to watch some Olympics . 🥰…..Aaaaand…..

Wow 😮 I feel very spoilt today 😍. Thank you to all my wonderful clients for their generosity, it’s truly appreciated…. Sooooo this leads me on to this…..😭

Thank you to everyone who stuck with me right to the end , from the beginning and also in the middle. I am so blessed and grateful to have met such wonderful people that I am fortunate to now call some of you friends. When I set up my business I didn’t know if it would work or not but I took a chance and it paid off. I have made some mistakes along the way but from those I hope to learn and grow to be even better. The most important thing is, that I love and have loved your doggos like they were my own, and a little bit of my heart has broken today in saying goodbye to you all. Ellesmere has been a wonderful place to call home for the past 3.5 years and I appreciate the kindest and support of this community. Whilst I’m super excited for the next chapter, I’m a little sad as I hate goodbyes. So this isn’t goodbye, but see you on the other side- the west side to be exact!
Please watch this space and continue to follow me, as I embark (no pun intended lol) on my next journey to Anglesey, where I hope to open a little piece of doggo and hooman heaven ,where you can come and stay. 🥰

Awwww it’s another goodbye today 🥹 I couldn’t take a video as I was in floods of tears ( I see a theme for this week😭😅) I have looked after Winnie since she was a wee pup, and watched her grow into this beautiful , cheeky girl.. it’s been a joy- and sometimes a stress , especially when she ran off and jumped into the canal or muddy puddle lol! 🙈 Winnie, it’s been a pleasure my angel, see you Anglesey 🤞🏻🥰💖 Thank you to your pawrents for my lovely gifts and card 😘

Is it true that if we use cold water on heat stroke pets they will go into shock?

One of the most common things we still hear is that we can only use tepid water on a pet with heat stroke, incase they get some complications like hypothermic overshoot, peripheral vasoconstriction hindering a cooling response, and cardiogenic shock...

We have heard not to use cold water in case it causes shock... this rarely happens!

But guess what? In a recent study over 26% of dogs presented with heat stroke died, with flat faced breeds making up nearly half of heat stroke cases seen in the study.

You should:

💧Get someone to call the local veterinary practice and tell them you're going to travel down with a heat stroke patient
💧Pour, hose or if possible immerse the pet in very cold water (this should obviously be done under constant supervision, ensuring the head is fully above water and immersion should not be attempted if the animal is too large, or you are unable to do so without hurting yourself)
💧NB: If using a hose pipe, make sure it has run through until cold, as they can often contain water that is extremely hot in the tubing initially
💧Do not drape in towels and leave them in situ. Keep the cold water flowing.
💧Move to a cool, shaded area
💧Prepare to transport to vets in a cold, air conditioned car

In studies they found that:

🌅International consensus from sports medicine organisations supports treating EHS with early rapid cooling by immersing the casualty in cold water.
🌅Ice-water immersion has been shown to be highly effective in exertional heat stroke, with a zero fatality rate in large case series of younger, fit patients.
🌅Hyperthermic individuals were cooled twice as fast by Cold Water Immersion as by passive recovery.
🌅No complications occurred during the treatment of three older patients with severe heat stroke were treated with cold‐water immersion.
🌅Cold water immersion (CWI) is the preferred cooling modality in EHS guidelines and the optimal method applicable to UK Service Personnel
🌅Studies suggest using either ice-water or cold-water immersion

The best intervention is PREVENTION, but if you find yourself with an animal with heat stroke, using cold water either by pouring, hosing or ideally (if safe) immersion then this may help reduce their temperature to safe levels while you transport to a veterinary practice.

Just a bit advice ( and a kind plee from a very tired dog father lol) for anyone staying with friends or family that have a new puppy.
Pawrents will be trying to get their fur baby into a routine so if you can avoid interrupting or interfering with this process and let them do what they need to do, please follow their requests and instructions.
You may feel like you are helping with the best intentions but if for example you get up earlier than they do, leave the puppy alone and try avoid disturbing until they choose to get them up, as this can disrupt the timings that they are aiming for and set them back. This is tough when pawrents are also working, especially if the puppy is already getting up super early, as the furry one now thinks yipp*e! I can get up at 530 instead of 630 , even if I don’t need a wee🙈😴 . Thank you, from a very sleepy pawrent!
