❤️💙 2024 RBU DOGS 💙❤️

These are the dogs that were adopted but sadly returned for various reasons and came back in to the rescue under our Rescue Back Up. 4 are now happily rehomed after assessment in foster, behavioural assistance and vet treatment.

Only two are still in foster and Lottie will be spayed next week and Toby has been seeing a behaviourist.

Hopefully they will be adopted in the coming months.🐾🐾

💙💛 DOGS OF 2024 💛💙

Just wanted to pop some pics up of the dogs taken in last year from either the pound or owner surrenders. 19 lives saved thanks to everyone's support, shares, donations and ofcourse our fabulous fosters & adopters. 10 of these dogs are now happily adopted and the ones still in foster will hopefully be soon!

‼️PLEASE DON'T WALK YOUR DOG DURING THE STORM. STAY HOME & STAY SAFE BETWEEN 10AM & 5PM TOMORROW.‼️

If you must venture to the garden please check gates and fences are still secure and keep dogs on double leads and under supervision. The wind can spook dogs and they can escape out collars or jump fences in panic.

💙💛 HAPPY NEW YEAR 💙💛

🥰 BETTER LATE THAN NEVER 🤣

Gosh we are well and truly in to 2025 and I've been meaning to catch up for weeks. Time always flies away and every day there's things going on in the background as well as an unfortunate bout of Covid & Flu back to back lol.

Last year was busy and many dogs were helped but it has depleted our funds. We thankfully have a few dogs just been adopted so that helps cover some bills and we have some new faces to introduce soon. Hopefully we will be able to help many more🙏

Will be posting updates on the dogs in foster, the adopted dogs and the newbies!

Wishing all our lovely supporters, fosters and adopters a very Merry Christmas & Happy New Year. This has been a really tough year but we're still here and still helping dogs so thank you. 💙🐾🐾

💙💛 LEO 💛💙

Leo is a Bichon mix boy age 4 currently in foster in Uxbridge area. He is looking for a new foster in an area with less traffic, perhaps a village or countryside home if possible.

He enjoys walks but is fearful of cars and bikes and strangers so a busy built up area isn't suiting him. Leo would prefer a home with just one other person or a couple at most I think.

Leo has tendencies to guard we believe as has been guarding his fosters family member so we think he will need a less busy home with few visitors until we can help manage this behaviour. Leo has bitten his foster for taking his jumper off and will growl if disturbed in bed. He needs a home where he can be left to properly decompress and gain confidence in his surroundings in his own time and at his pace.

Do we have any Bichon experienced fosters that are able to help this wee soul?

💙💛 ALPHIE 💛💙

Sweet little Alphie is an 8 year old ShihTzu looking for a new home as his owner is moving and can't take him.

We are looking for a foster home so he can be assessed and neutered before rehoming.

Alphie is currently just outside Glasgow so ideally a foster in Central Scotland who can take him to vet appointments.

He is dog friendly apart from dislikes Huskies and is used to living with children from 8 years old.

Alphie is toilet and lead trained and is calm and quiet and likes company. He will toilet indoors if left alone for hours though, like most dogs can't be left too long.

🖤🤎 WOODY 🤎🖤

💔TRYING AGAIN TO GET NOTICED💔

Our lovely boy Woody is still looking for his forever home. He was saved from being PTS last year as an unwanted stray in the pound and it's devastating he's still waiting to be noticed.

Woody is a friendly boy, he lives happily with his fosters dogs and could live with another dog that is playful and matches his energy levels or could be an only dog for an active person.

He's lead trained, toilet trained and crate trained and can be left happily in his crate snoozing for around 4 hours after a good walk.

Woody hasn't lived with children but we think he could live with savvy older kids. He needs an active home as he's full of energy and needs plenty of exercise to stay happy & healthy and keep out of mischief. He can be destructive if bored and left too long unsupervised.

Woody is 2 years old and a Mastiff X American Bulldog, he's microchipped, vaccinated and neutered.

CURRENTLY IN FOSTER IN AYRSHIRE.

❤️IN FOSTER WITH VIEW TO ADOPT❤️

He is in Homeboarding with other large dogs and not coping if they get attention or if he is left alone. He will bark but has started self harming.

Please this is urgent for his welfare and kennels will be even worse. Is there a Bichon lover on our foster books or small dog experienced foster available to take little Ben under their wing?

He is fine with savvy children over 8 and small friendly dogs but really needs a home where he can be centre of attention. He has shown separation anxiety at Homeboarding.

🖤🤎 WALNUT 🤎🖤

LONG OVERDUE UPDATE

Some of you may remember this poor sweet boy we pulled out the pound just before his euthanasia date in January only for him to become really unwell on transport from Hertfordshire pound to Glasgow.

The transport had to stop at the nearest vet as Walnut was deteriorating so fast. He was really dehydrated and underweight but after tests and xrays it was clear he had Pneumonia.

Walnut was treated in the vet for a few days and our lovely supporters helped pay his bill. He was then able to travel onwards to his foster family where he has been recovering and slowly and steadily gaining weight and is now a healthy boy.

He has been vaccinated and was neutered last week and will be a failed foster when his fosters adopt him soon🥳

He's so loved and absolutely adores his family, especially his fur sister.🐾🐾

❤️💜 KHALI 💜❤️

🐾NEW FOSTER THINKING OF ADOPTING🐾

Is it a couch Potato 🥔 or a house Hippo 🦛? No it's Khali, a 2 year old Staffie cross girl.

Khali has been in foster since end of December and her fosters have worked hard getting her to where she is today. She is still reactive to certain noises indoors and reactive on walks to other dogs. Khali is seeing a dog trainer currently and is improving. She's a friendly affectionate girl and likes to snuggle on the sofa .Khali has been vaccinated & spayed by the rescue.

Her fosters were planning to keep working with her & adopting but sadly have had a change in circumstances and won't be adopting. They are unable to continue fostering so Khali needs a new foster/ foster with view to adopt.

She's previously lived with dogs and children however we think she is best as an only dog as takes a long time to successfully introduce to other dogs and is initiallyreactive. She's been around younger children but not tested by us as a rescue so I'd say dog savvy children over 10.

❤️🖤 BIRDIE / LENA ❤️🖤

🥳 UPDATE - ADOPTED 🥳

Wee Birdie AKA Lena was returned to the rescue in May, sadly due to her adopters change in circumstances.

She was lucky enough to come in for assessment and foster with a behaviourist and then to a lovely foster home. Unexpectedly her wonderful foster passed away but a family member stepped in to foster Lena and fell in love.

Lena has come on amazingly well in her new home and loves her peaceful lifestyle and quiet walks. She was officially adopted last week and is a happy little girl. ❤️

🥳 UPDATE - ADOPTED 🥳

Another overdue update for beautiful wee Zara AKA Tootsy. She came in to the rescue at the start of the year and was a terrified little soul.

She had been privately imported from Poland and used for breeding then sold then dumped. One of our fosters secured her and we got her in to foster.

Zara took a long time to come out her shell and trust people again. Once settled she was revaccinated and spayed. Her fosters fell in love and the feeling was mutual so Zara is officially adopted and staying put!

❤️💜 PEPPA ❤️💜

🥳HAPPY PUPDATE🥳

You may remember lovely Peppa who came in to the rescue back in February after being abandoned in an empty flat in Wales. She was transported up here to a safe foster and was in a bit of a state.

She had over grown nails, an untreated ear infection, cherry eye and was grossly overweight. Her foster worked hard getting the weight off with plenty exercise and good quality food.

Peppa got her ailments treated, was wormed and flead and then had 2 rounds of eye surgery. Her fosters fell in love with her so she will stay where she is and they have officially adopted Peppa Princess 😍

These two gorgeous little guys are bonded furry brothers Ben Bichon age 7 & Blue Lhasa age 9.

They are looking for a foster together ideally as Ben is bonded with Blue. Alternatively if they have to seperate Ben will need a foster with another friendly dog.

Both are microchipped, vaccinated , neutered and have just been vet checked & wormed.

Ben is a typical Bichon and can be a bit barky if he wants attention or food and is quite obsessed with humans food so may have to be shut away while you are eating! He still has accidents in the house although this could be stress related.

Blue is a chilled back old boy and nothing bothers him. Both like human company so would need someone home most of the day.

They aren't keen on very young children but are fine with dog savvy kids 8+.

❤️FOSTER GOING TO ADOPT❤️

🖤🖤 MAX 🖤🖤

Max is looking for his forever home or foster with view to adopt. He's a 1 year old Staffie X Shar Pei.

We got him vaccinated and neutered in foster care. Max is friendly with other dogs and good with children, would recommend children over 6 used to larger bouncy dogs as smaller kids may accidentally be knocked over.

He previously lived with a cat and was disinterested in the cat so could live with a dog savvy or dog friendly cat!

Max is a lovable goof who enjoys being outdoors and inside having a play or snuggle. He's crate trained, house trained and lead trained but can still pull a bit.

Could live with other friendly dogs or on his own quite happily. CURRENTLY IN FOSTER IN AIRDRIE, LANARKSHIRE, SCOTLAND.

Little update on Lottie that came back in to the rescue recently. She's settling a bit better in to foster now that her season is over!

Hopefully she will continue to get along with both dogs in foster and we won't have to look for an alternative placement.

Lottie is going to get her vaccines redone next week and will be assessed by a behaviourist as shes reactive and fearful of people and dogs outside.

She will be looking for a new home around January once spayed so keep an eye out for updates❤️🐾🐾

They are 1 year old medium sized Collie mixes and currently in Ayrshire. Clyde could be adopted and just needs a secure garden to complete his toilet training. He is very clever and affectionate and loves attention. Bonnie is affectionate on her terms and is wary of people but very interested and gets excited to see the staff at the kennels. She will need lead and toilet trained so really needs a foster home or very patient and understanding adopter willing to work on her trust and confidence.
