DEPOSITS

All sessions require a 50% non refundable deposit. This is non-negotiable. If I do not receive deposit then you will not be put in the diary and I will not be there.

CANCELLATIONS

All cancellations require 48 hours notice. I totally understand things happen that cannot be helped so this is at my full discretion. The 48 hours gives me the time needed to fill the space. Anything less than this, full payment will be required, if not paid you will not be booked back in.

If on the rare occasion I have to cancel, I will either reschedule or refund deposit.

BLOCK BOOKINGS

All block bookings have a 2 month (8 week) expiration. This is from point of booking. Block bookings require upfront payment. I will not chase you to book in, it is solely your responsibility. If you cancel a session within a block with less than 48 hours notice, you are forfeiting that session.

Please take into consideration what the breed was originally bred for. Just because they look cool on the TV doesnt mean you should get one.

As most of you know I work on breed specifics, this looks into what your dog was bred to do and how to fulfil their needs.

RESEARCH REQUIRED!

Choosing a dog just because of the way they look.

We wouldn’t choose a partner or make a commitment to sharing our lives with someone based purely on the way they look – (I suppose there could be exceptions in some cases!)

We would first really get to know them, what kind of personality they have and who they really are before making that sort of commitment.

Yet people continue to choose dogs just because of the way they look.

Maybe they saw a dog like that in a movie that they enjoyed or maybe they just really like the way they look, without having any understanding or thought to learn about what that particular breed was selectively bred to do and what behaviour might be expected.

The way a dog behaves is not always specific to the breed. Dogs are individuals, with their own unique personality and their behaviour is shaped not only by genetics, but by specific life and learning experiences and environment, but problems can happen when the traits of that breed and their specific needs are not taken into account.

Some breeds may just simply not be compatible with a particular person or family’s needs, lifestyle, environment or expectations.

Is it fair or ethical to need to suppress, train out or even punish breed specific tendencies, calling them behaviour problems, when we hold a dog in a captive environment that is unsuitable for them.

First research the breed and learn all you can about potential traits and what to expect before making that choice.

Pet sitting🏡
I offer 30/60/90 minute slots for pet sitting. This would be in your own home so your pet feels safe and comfortable in their own space. This involves toilet breaks, playtime and providing fresh water and food!

Just a reminder for everyone that I do offer 2hr train and walk sessions. This is when I take the dog out just me and your dog, I will continue from where we last left off previously or move onto a new subject.

I will then come back and discuss the walk with yourselves and how you should continue the training.

These sessions are still £40 but will last 2 hours

I do understand that the weather is terrible but your dog DOES need out for both the physical as well as mental health/stimulation.

Today I was out with one of my most amazing dogs today which was a Pocket Bully, we were stopped by a worker in a shop (not saying which 🤣) and were told that the Prong collar was Illegal to have or use. After going back and forth another woman approached us going absolutely nuts screa that it Illegal that she knows best because she “Breeds and shows” her dogs.

Every dog is different, I have some dogs I train on a flat collar due to their amazing genetics and work the owner has put in and I also have dogs that need a prong collar or face halti due to their size and energy.

Train the dog thats infront of you 🐶🐾

YOU USE *WHAT* KIND OF COLLAR??!

Have you noticed that the "instant experts" have decided that every kind of dog collar is the wrong one?

A flat collar, after all, does not stop the dog from pulling, while a slip collar can choke!

Surely no one would greenlight either one!

A pinch collar pinches, while an e-collar shocks.

Surely no one would greenlight either one!

What about a constriction harness or a head halter?

Good lord NO!

The former squeezes the dogs insides and does nothing to stop the dog from pulling, while the later can scrape against the eye and cause corneal damage and neck injury.

After hearing this, if you are terrified that you might "do it wrong," with your new dog, then the message has worked.

You see, so much of this nonsense comes from "click and treat" dog trainers who are intent on selling their services, their books, and their CD-roms.

Their main message is that you are probably incapable of training your own dog without their input.

If you go it alone with a book from the library, you might injure your dog!

Never mind that hundreds of millions of dogs have been trained for thousands of years on six continents without the advice of click-and-treat dog trainers.

The click-and-treat folks want you to know they are here to Save the Day ... provided, of course, you have a credit card.

Part of their pitch is fear.

You aren't an ABUSIVE owner are you? Because they want you to know they do not believe in ABUSIVE dog training.

You don't believe in OUTDATED training methods do you? Because they want you to know they believe in only the LATEST, MODERN methods.

Surely you want to be modern and non abusive?

All right then -- sign up with any of the trainers to be found in the directory!

Now there is nothing wrong with going to a dog trainer (all for it), and there is nothing wrong with click and treat dog training (all for it).

But do me a favor eh? Don't p**s on my leg and tell me it's raining!

Example one is the simple slip collar. It's been used for a thousand years and it works.

I am past 60 years old and I have never seen a dog injured by one, and I bet you haven't either.

I have seen dogs injured by cars, fences, broken glass, hot tar, and nails, but never by a slip collar.

In 2,000 years of dog training, no one seems to have seen widespread neck injures in dogs from proper use of a slip collar.

William Koehler did not see it, nor Barbara Woodhouse. You and I have not seen it. And neither has your veterinarian, I will bet. Have you noticed that your vet puts a plastic slip lead on all the dogs before leading them to the waiting room?

Now to be clear, I am not saying click and treat doesn’t work. Of course it works. You can train a dog to do any number of useful tricks with click and treat.

And if the dog has low drive, and if the owner will tolerate low standards, the dog *might* even be OK off lead.

Might. Maybe. “Most of the time.”

All we know for sure is that Karen Pryor, the guru of click and treat, could not take her own Border Terrier off lead in the forest, and used an electric Invisible Fence to keep it in the yard.

Do you find that shocking? I bet!

So, to reiterate, I am all for click and treat. It’s core dog training and works for a lot of things. I have two well-worn treat bags and you can usually fine a bit of kibble in my pocket. I’m all for rewards-based training and the use of clickers.

But you will pardon me if I hold on to my wallet with one hand and my slip collars and leashes with the other.

You see, I am pretty sure about one thing ....

If someone comes along and tells you that everything that everyone else has been doing for 2,000 years in the world of dogs is entirely wrong, you should RUN (not walk!) in the opposite direction.

Nothing good starts with a lie.

Highly recommend these Muzzles they dont look “aggressive” like the ones you can pick up for cheap, they also have the perfect panting space as well as allowing you dog to vocally communicate to you and other dogs unlike the other muzzles that restrict this behaviour

I believe that all dogs no matter the breed or temperament should be muzzle trained 😊🐾

How much training have you put in? Like actually?

Here is my 4 year old niece walking Kali. She is in full control of Kali, you’ll even see Kali trying to pull and my niece remind her she does not control the walk.

This is all done to the work been put into Kali, genetically Kali should be barking, pulling and biting, but she understands there’s a time, a place and a command for that!

How comfortable would you be with a child walking your dog?
