They need to perform specific tricks on cue and handle distractions. 🐾Basic Commands: Mastery of commands like sit and stay is essential. 🐾Advanced Tricks: Training for advanced behaviors is often necessary. 🐾Socialization: Dogs must be comfortable with strangers and various stimuli. 🐾Behavioral Consistency: Dogs can be unpredictable, which can hinder auditions. Directors seek reliability. 🐾Temperament: A calm, adaptable dog is ideal. 🐾Focus: Your dog must maintain concentration amidst distractions. Patience and Perseverance: Success takes time and resilience. In summary, while auditioning your dog can be rewarding, it's important to prepare for the challenges involved. With dedication and the right approach, your dog may shine in the spotlight. Today while thinking on the spot to provide instructions to get trinny to preform, I may have to picked the best behavior to let her shine like the star she is. However I am incredibly proud of her an happy with how today went. Trinny is not naturally curious of new people and keen to engage with strangers. I also have not been in the situation often where I have instructed someone else in how to handle her and get her to work/preform. Dog’s can be tuned into sensing their owners emotions, which is why your mental health is just as important as your dog's. When you're feeling stressed or overwhelmed, it can impact your dog too. That's why self-care is so important. Here are a few self-care tips for both you and your dog: 🌿 Take a Break & Breathe: Even a short walk in nature can do wonders for your mental health and your dog will love you for it! Learn to appreciate being in the moment. Often, our minds race during walks, or we become distracted by our phones. Try to practice some mindfulness. Take a moment to take a deep breath, absorb your surroundings, watch how your dog interacts with the environment and listen to the sounds surrounding you. Just enjoy the being in moment and breathe. 😴 Prioritise sleep: A well-rested mind is a happy mind. Interrupted sleep and over-stimulation can impact both you and your dog. Lack of sleep can have significant effects on both physical and mental health such as cognitive impairment, mood changes and decreased performance. Take action to ensure you prioritise sleep. If it helps give yourself a bedtime deadline including a winding down period without any screen time. 🐾 Set boundaries: Don't feel guilty about saying no to extra commitments. Spend quality time with your dog. Go for a walk, play fetch, or simply cuddle on the couch. Remember, you can't pour from an empty cup. Take care of yourself so you can be your best self and the best possible dog owner.

Real life training beyond the classroom. 🎄🎶🪕🎸👥 Here is me and Trinny just vibing having a little fun at out local christmas light switch on at Clyde Shopping Centre . Great treat listening to the fantastic Nathan Evans and SAINT PHNX preform . When training your dog it is important to repeat training in different environments . Ensuring they are not only comfortable in a variety of environments, but that they learn to listen and respond with multiple distractions. This helps reinforce their training and ensures they can behave appropriately no matter where they are. 🐾Start with familiar settings, such as your home or backyard, where distractions are minimal. 🐾 Gradually introduce new locations, like a park or a friend's house, where the sights, sounds, and smells are different. This gradual exposure helps your dog build confidence and adaptability. 🔁Consistency is key. Use the same commands and rewards system in each environment to provide a clear understanding of what is expected. ⏳️ Practice patience and celebrate small victories along the way. It's also beneficial to involve different people in the training process so your dog learns to respond to various voices and cues. Remember, training should always be a positive experience for your dog. 🦴🍗Use treats, praise, and play as rewards to motivate and encourage them.
