Todays is a sit stay and recall. I mark him for sitting and return before making our gap wider and repeating. Yogi chose to lay down when he got to me and I have no issues with that.
Staying calm at the door and not charging out is important. Here we have my pup in a sit with his lead on and the door open. I am his distraction as I go in and out the door.

So prior to our 1-2-1 session last night Cara would not lie down when asked. A quick lesson and some practise from Mum and she has sussed it!

So today’s video involves a down stay and a recall with a reasonable amount of distraction from excited young footballers.
Owners sometimes get a little hung up and confused about what que/commands they should use. In reality it does not matter as long as you are consistent and reinforce the behaviour you want. In this little video I get Alan to sit and lie down with our saying a word. The simple hand signals that I have paired with my que’s are enough.
