Please be aware the A417 has been closed this morning due to flooding. Diversion routes are open through Corsend road, but please be careful as it will be busy, and there are some large potholes.

Good morning - 10/01/25 . The high tide on the Severn has flooded the A417 at Maisemore so we are closing the road. We will keep monitoring river levels and open the A417 when it is safe to do so. Please do not drive through the flood water.

It was with great sadness that we received the news of the passing of Helen, our colleague and friend. Helen had been on holiday for a few weeks before taking ill on her way back. She bravely battled cancer since her return till the time of her passing.

Many of you will have known Helen as a kind, caring and passionate vet nurse. She showed us all those attributes over her years in practice, her dedication, consideration and concern for the animals under her care was exemplary. We were all privileged to have her as a colleague and friend and she was a great support to many both inside and outside work.

The brave and dignified way that she dealt with her sudden illness is an inspiration to us all.
We extend our deepest sympathies to her son and parents.

RIP Helen and thank you for everything you gave us both professionally and personally, we are all better for having known you. We will miss you, and love you always.

This lovely elderly chap called Twixy came to see us for a dental on Friday.

Look how chilled out he was! This photo was taken before anything had happened! He came to see us today for a check up after his dental, and he is doing amazingly well!

If it’s hot for us… imagine what it’s like for your pets?

Still we are seeing dogs being walked during the hottest part of the day. Please avoid walking them in the sun. Walk them early in the morning, and later on in the evening instead.

We have the nicest clients!

As a thank you for neutering 2 female dogs, we have been given chocolates and flowers, and a voucher for us all to go out as a practice and have a meal! Thank you so much!!

THIS SATURDAY!!!

Paws in the pub dog show is being held at The Royal Exchange in Hartpury.

Registration is from 11am and entry to the classes, the tombola and lucky dip is CASH only please as all money going to Forever Hounds Trust.

It’s a fantastic event, and all for a brilliant cause!

The pub will be serving food and drink all day too!!
