‼️Do you recognise Hunter?? ‼️

🐾 You may remember us posting recently trying to locate an owner for this lovely boy!

🐾 Unfortunately no owner has come forward yet. He is having the time of his life being fostered by staff but we can't believe he isn't being missed!

🐾 He is a four year old Sprocker spaniel, originally named Hunter. He is microchipped but the registered owners rehomed him and unfortunately can't locate the new owner's details.

🐾 Please share far and wide in case Hunter has gone on an adventure further afield!

🐾 Please call 01327 350239 or message 07893952368 if you think he might be yours. Proof of ownership will be required.

🐾 If he is yours but circumstances have changed and you can no longer keep him please still let us know so we know to stop searching.

Learning the difference between anxiety and annoyance, Max the German Shepherd is showing a little ambivalence here and a touch of annoyance (as seen by the breaks in play and side eye, and exaggerated show of teeth).

He might be slightly annoyed because Ash, the little black mix, has a higher energy and is being quite persistent with wanting to play. His high tone noises show this, as do his gentle nips. As Ash he goes over to one side, to prove that he means no harm, Max relaxes slightly more.

Max plays back partly because he doesn’t NOT want to, but wishes it was more relaxed play. At the time of this video, they had only known each other for about 2-3 weeks, so Ash was new in the house, and they were still learning about each other.

All healthy and clear communication, no need to intervene as a human. It's important to get the balance right between allowing the conversion between dogs to play out and when to step in.

Let's celebrate Pet Obesity Awareness Day today, being aware, able to acknowledge and act upon your pets weight can take courage. I strongly advise seeking veterinary advice where needed.

Keeping your pets at a healthy weight will extend their life, improve their wellbeing and overall behaviour, as we know, health and wellbeing has a huge affect on how our dogs feel and therefore their behaviour.

Buster the recently rescued staffie struggles with basic territorial behaviours, particularly with the neighbours barking dogs on various sides, we set down some exercises to combat this and within 2 hours he was responding to us incredibly well, even with the distractions. Practise makes perfect as they say! It was lovely to see him able to relax in his garden and enjoy time with his new family. Well done Buster 🐾

Our Story

Founded in Thrapston, Northants in 2010 by dog trainer and behaviourist Victoria Bickley, Leads and Feeds have been professional dog walking and training for the last ten years. Having recently moved to Towcester, Northants, we have decided to no longer offer dog group walks, we are still offering 1-2-1 personalised dog training, pet sitting (in your home) and pet pop-ins for all animal types.

Victoria is a professional dog trainer/behaviourist who has been helping dogs and owners for the last twelve years. She is also experienced with all animal types including farm animals, reptiles, and exotics.
