To mark Rabbit Awareness Week next week our Animal Care Assistant, Hayley will be running health check appointments free of charge for all our registered bunny patients. This year the main focus is on their diets.
**Please note that these are not vet appointments therefore if your animal is unwell please book an appointment with one of our vets**

Odin came to us in July last year as his owner was struggling with his weight. They attended weight clinics with our nursing team and Odin was started on a Virbac Veterinary HPM weight loss diet. In 6 months Odin went from 32.2kg to 26.6kg which is a whopping 5.6kg. Odin is now living his best life and running around with his younger sister Effie.
Well done to Odin and his mum! Here are his before and after pictures! 😍

Handsome Marmalade came in for his pre op check for castration today. He was a superstar and loved the attention from Animal Care Assistant, Hayley.
Marmalades owner had reported that he was desperate to get outside and we spoke about the importance of cats being neutered before being allowed outside.

Beautiful Marbles came in for her pre op check yesterday. Bunnies are fantastic adult and family pets however, they require annual vaccinations and neutering when they are old enough (Around 4 months). Marbles’ brother was neutered a couple of weeks ago so in around 6-8 weeks their owner can start reintroducing them to each other. A neutered male and female pairing is the most successful pairing for bunnies. 🐰

Handsome Rollo came in his post op check yesterday. We’re pleased to say everything was fine and he’s been signed off by the team. How beautiful is he 😍

Murphy the stunning Macaw came in for an appointment last week because she’d damaged her wing. We reached out to our friends at Anton Vets in Andover and Murphy was referred to them for further treatment. We wish Murphy a speedy recovery 🫶

We have had this bunny handed into us this afternoon found in a member of the public’s garden on Mantle Close. He is male and entire, over 6 months. Please contact the surgery if you have any information or if he is your rabbit.

Gorgeous Chewie and Chester came in yesterday for the first part of their puppy package, they were so excited that they wore themselves out!

Following on from the Government's announcement of banning the XL Bully, they have released the information regarding the application of exemption certificates. The exemption certificates have to be in place by 1st February 2024 therefore we are strongly recommending owners to have these in place ASAP.

Use this GOV.UK service to apply for a Certificate of Exemption to keep XL Bully dogs.

We will require your name, address, contact number and amount of animals you wish to register only, at this time. You will then be contacted once our books are open to register your pets. Please note that we will not be booking any appointments just yet.
As per our terms and conditions, all first appointments are subject to a full deposit at the time of booking.

5 year old rescue chihuahua Ruby came in yesterday for spaying. Since being adopted she has been a little feisty with the team but here she is with our chihuahua whisperer Tiff enjoying a cuddle 🥰

Our friends at Cats protection have some tips for helping your cats, and other pets stay calm during the fireworks. Henry Court Community College also have their fireworks tomorrow night.
We are fully stocked with the calmex range, it's non prescription and ready to sell over our counter today and tomorrow.

Tomorrow (Friday 3rd November) AFC Portchester and Brockhurst Primary School are holding firework displays.

If you live locally please do keep your cat indoors. Even the most confident cat can be startled by an unexpected loud noise and in it's panic become lost or run into the path of an oncoming vehicle.

Please join us in congratulating our nurse Tiffany who passed her final exam yesterday and is officially an Advanced Veterinary Nurse! She has worked really hard over the past two years to achieve this and we are all super proud of her!
This now means that we have two nurses that hold the AVN title.

⭐️Puppies/Kittens⭐️

We are pleased to inform you that we are now able to take on new registrations for puppies and kittens under 6 months old. Registrations will be limited with the 1st vaccine appointments available on 22nd and 29th November 2023 only.

We will be running a package for these appointments which is £110 and includes:
*Both vaccinations
*Microchip
*One month of flea and worming treatment
*Bag of Virbac HPM puppy/kitten food
*Five weeks free insurance with Vetsure

These appointments will be subject to a full deposit at the time of booking and are only available to animals under 6 months of age. Please note that our books are still closed for all other patients including additional animals from new registered households.
