We have had a Female cat handed in to our Grantown Practice that was found in Nethy Bridge.

We think it may have a sore leg, if you think she is yours please give us a call or pop into the practice.

Cailean, 10 years old, visited our surgery for a dental procedure. Dentistry requires a general anaesthetic to ensure any diseased teeth can be removed safely and without pain.🦷
You can see from the before and after photos below that Cailean will be feeling a lot better after her dental surgery. She was happily eating within 30 minutes after her recovery. 🐕🌿

Happy Monday! 🌟

We think this may be our smallest patient yet—coming in at under 1kg! 😲 Little Honey was in for her 1st vaccination 💉 and she did absolutely amazing! 🙌🐾 We can’t wait to see her grow! 💕

Last week, Hannah and Jane had a slightly different call-out—attending to a small herd of Bison in need of veterinary care🦬 The bison were safely anaesthetised with a dart gun for treatment, and after the procedure, the anaesthetic was reversed and all the Bison made a full recovery 🙌

Looks like Hannah had quite the wild adventure! 😄

Rabbits Muffin and Daisy were patients at our Aviemore clinic. Rabbits form bonded pairs, so these two were very happy to share a kennel during their day with us.

Daisy and Muffin were very well behaved and seemed quite relaxed in the surgery as you can see 😃🐰

On his retirement last year, Andrew generously raised funds, which were split between two incredible charities: RSABI and VetLife. Well done, Andrew, for supporting such worthy causes!

We are incredibly grateful to all those who quietly choose to fundraise for RSABI throughout the year. One of those who did exactly that in 2024 was Granton-on-Spey vet Andrew Rafferty. Andrew very kindly opted to raise funds for us on his retirement earlier this year. He didn’t want any fuss but when one of the RSABI team bumped into him at Harbro Ltd Perth, he was happy to get behind our message. TRIGGER WARNING ⚠️ GRAPHIC CONTENT

We are excited to announce that our vet Alison is currently completing a post-graduate certificate in surgery. This is awarded by the University of Chester and will take her a year to complete, with lots of study and practical cases along the way. This certificate will mean she is able to perform more complicated soft tissue procedures, alongside some orthopaedic operations!🏥

These skills have already come in handy for brave patient, Gem, who suffered a large wound to the back of her neck. Alison was able to perform an advancement flap to close the wound, and Gem is now back to her usual, wriggly self! 🐾

If your pet requires a more complicated surgical procedure and specialist referral is not an option, then Alison may be able to offer a treatment option. We look forward to what the future holds here at Strathspey Vets! 🩺🐶

They were blood testing and scanning cows to check for pregnancy. They loved the well organised set up!🐄
