ALL BULLY OWNERS!

If you haven't already you need to make sure your dog is trained! With the ban coming by the end of the year, your dog MUST,
- Walk calmly on the lead at all times under control.
- Must not react in anyway to people or animals
- Must be muzzle trained
- Be calm under excitement
- Be calm and controlled even in your home.

Dogs that fall under the bracket (even tho they aren't XL Bullies)
- Cane Corso
- American Bulldogs
- Alapaha Bulldog
- Mastif Breeds

ENGAGEMENT IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS!

7 mins was all it took for Rocky to realise that if he played the game correctly, he was rewarded with a treat. Now, because of this, I became the most interesting, most rewarding thing in the world to Rocky. As you can see, by the end of this clip, Rocky, without any direction from me, was walking on a loose lead in the heel position.

Something to note here. I'm not the slightest bit bothered about Rockys behaviour here. No corrections were made for jumping up or not responding to me. Obedience comes later.

If you have no engagement with your dog, you don't have the foundations to build a positive working relationship.

An introduction to Rocky, the boisterous Doberman!

Rocky is only 1 but is incredibly smart. His excitement and frustration builds very quickly, combined with his strength, he's at times uncontrollable to someone not used to the breed.

I got to work with him for a couple of hours and was sceptical of how he would respond.

Working with Laiden recently. Laiden had no manners at all, but although he looks menacing and is extremely boisterous, he's a big softy at heart.

No engagement and no obedience to begin with, but within 1 hour, he went from uncontrollable to a lovely heel walk with full engagement. He just needed some guidance to get there.

I took elsa for 90mins, had 3 environment changes and encountered 6 people. Of those 6 people, she barked at 2 and only barked once. It was entirely my fault as I didn't see them. I'm sure that if I did, she would have walked straight past like the other 4. Now, although she didn't react to 4 of the 6 people, this doesn't mean that she is good to go. 90mins is not enough time for her to be corrected, then remember she doesn't need to react when her reactive response is so hardwired. Like most scenarios in dog training, it's 20% dog 80% onwer (Elsa's owners are fully aware of this). I guided Elsa through stressful situations by being calm and clear with the behaviours I expected. Corrected when needed and rewarded more. Excited to she how we get on with our next couple of sessions.
