In the week, i had the pleasure of giving puppy training to little Shula. He is the cutiest pup and although he still needs to master 'wee wee outside' a little, he and his owners are doing so well. Go Shula!! 👏 🐾🐕🐾

Nice mooch around the field today for the Pals as it was a warm one. We were very grateful for the cloud cover. Nellie didn't mind, she was too busy with finding out what was down the hole!!

It would be a rare client visit that there isn't some type of mixed messages given....and often.

We often don't realise just how many mixed messages and signals we can actually give.....and how often we give them.
Mixed messages will work against everything you want to achieve.

Let's look at this from your dogs or puppies point of view....

They may be given an old shoe to chew.....so shoes are now ok to chew?
You may tell your dog "down" over and over when you want them out of the car....but they ARE down (lying down).
They are not allowed on the furniture.....but occasionally when a movie is on...they are allowed ?

If you can start to become aware of mixed messages you give.....you may just start to see how many times signals are just unclear.
A muddle of different words by everyone... yet an expectation that they are understood and that your dog is just ignoring what you asked.
Are they ignoring or have we just asked them something that has a totally different meaning to the last time you said those words?
Yet we expect a different result?

Have a talk with the family and work out the SAME words and clear "rules" going forward.

Your dog will thank you and they WILL start to show you more wanted behaviour and less unwanted behaviour simply because they now understand exactly what you are trying to communicate.

Different rules.
Different words.
Different expectations
They will always give you far different results than you may want.

Hi everyone,
For over a year, I have had a very successful business looking after all your amazing fur babies.
In that time, my Lenny has welcomed nearly 100 dogs into his home.
They have shared his toys, his beds and his owners and he has been the most placid dog with them.
Unfortunately, lately, Lenny has struggled sharing his home with others, and has become a little reactivate to some pals.
I value my business on looking after your dogs as if they are my own but this is becoming harder everyday as Lenny is now finding it hard to share his home.
So, it is with a heavy heart and much regret that I now have to stop boarding dogs with immediate effect, before anyone gets hurt. I have always put your dogs safely at the heart of my business. I do not want your dogs, me or Lenny to be put in any situation that could jeopardise safety.
If you do have boarding booked in with me currently, I will message you individually about your booking.
I am soooo sorry to let you down, but please realise this is in the best interests of your dogs, Lenny and me.
I will continue to work with training/walking dogs.
Thank you so much for all your support at this sad time for Pals with Paws. I will miss every one of your amazing dogs.

Had a fantastic time in the Lake District. Lenny had lots of firsts and thoroughly enjoyed himself. He is very tired now though 😴 🐕🐾
