Almost 7 years of caring for this little man at AmRose and tonight we unexpectedly and heart breakingly had to say goodbye 💔 champers was slightly different to all our other lovely residents in that he lived with our 3 goats Bailie, Dotty and Lola and all our chickens and ducks. He wasn’t a huge fan of other horses but loved his girls 🐐 and all of us! He was like a dog, always on the yard, following around the grooms would be in amongst us every weekend with the kids and never missed a thing!!! He was quite literally like a fly on the wall. He witnessed everything!! For 30 years his owners gave him everything he deserved 💛 and we thank them for allowing us to take care of him. He was a farm legend. He has greeted everyone that stepped foot on the farm and made it his business to ensure food was readily available several times a day. He has literally done what he likes when he likes at AmRose and we didn’t mind at all! He was always sneaking in the feed room, stealing food and trying to leg it up the drive for the super rich grass (that was too dangerous for him) and often chasing the dogs too! He touched so many adults and children’s lives. The farm really won’t be the same. Sleep well gorgeous boy. Rest in Peace 💔💛😢 thank you to Charlotte our groom for acting quickly when she found him, helping him calm and settle to feel safe. Then Champers vet of many many years Clare McKinstry at CM Equine who came and helped him fly high across the rainbow bridge so peacefully 🌈 a tough evening 😭
Elj, Remi and Big all moved to a nice grassy field yesterday! They were so happy! It’s the most they have moved since last summer 🥰💙
All happened quite quickly this time and most arrived through the night 🐣🐥
We have hatched 9 more chickens, 3 still in the incubator that have pipped and should be hatched by tonight I think!
The first bunch are doing well and preparing to move to an enclosure at the farm with the adult chickens 🥰

Evening check on the flock!
Evening checks, they drink soooo much water so they have fresh water a few times a day! They will all huddle together under the brooder over night but we have the room set to 18 to make sure they are warm 🐥🦆🥰
Sorry for delaying the updates 😂 been busy moving them and getting them settled in their new enclosure.
