He and little Buddy have devoured every slice they get🥰

Chewy 🐶💙

Chewy has been attending Hydrotherapy for Post- Operative treatment following a Cruciate Ligament Rupture, this boy hasn’t had it easy, but it’s so lovely to see after such a long time to see him making some real improvements!

I’d also like to add, messages may be slightly delayed this week as I’m away on a course, more information will follow as I will be looking for some volunteers for case studies to help me gain my qualification. 🐾

Exciting times ahead! 😁

Grass seed season is here.

Grass seeds or awns, once in a dogs coat will only move in one direction, which means that they can end up burying into the skin causing sores and abscesses.

It is good practice to after every walk brush and comb your dogs coat out. This is especially important in dogs with long or fluffy coats, and if you have been walking through long grass or grass that has just been cut.

Check between the toes, in the armpits and in the groin areas. If you notice your dog excessively licking one area this could be a sign of a grass seed, as can be excessive head shaking (in the cases of grass seeds in the ears) or scratching.

Of course grooming after a walk is the best way to not only check for and remove any grass seeds, but also a great way to strengthen the bond between you and your dog.

Grass seeds aren't just limited to dogs, long haired cats can also pick up grass seeds, so it is good practice to routinely brush out your long haired cats, especially if they have access to areas of long grass.

Dora doing an amazing job on her first Hydrotherapy session yesterday! 🐾

Dora is attending Hydrotherapy Treatment due to being a forelimb tripawd and we’re aiming to provide a preventative program for her to reduce the chances of compensatory issues that can be associated with Tripawd animals. 💙

Hydrotherapy is an amazing form of exercise where we can utilise the properties of water to provide a weightless exercise which reduces the stress going through the joints, creating a greater range of movement, increasing muscle mass, whilst also helping reduce pain and inflammation- which provides a much safer and beneficial form of exercise for the dogs. 💦

Meet lovely little Dora 🐾❤️

Dora had her first Hydrotherapy session yesterday and she absolutely smashed it!
We wasn’t too sure how she would react as she is still only a puppy and has never really encountered water before, but she was such a great sport and took everything in her stride 🥰💦

As you can see, it didn’t take her long to get herself comfy in the car and have a little snooze 💤😴

🐶💦I have been treating Wilfred for a few years now, and he attends on a monthly basis to help conservatively manage Hip Dysplasia.

Hydrotherapy has worked really well for him and he loves it! It doesn’t just help him physically but also mentally😁
I think the hardest thing is trying to get him to rest!🤣

The signs of arthritis may be obvious, such as a limp, however frequently they are vague and nonspecific. But you as a will notice and know slight changes in your dog. These nonspecific signs may be picked up by your vet or vet nurse during a consultation, so it's best to get your dog checked for if you notice something different in their gait.

My name is Katie 🙋‍♀️I am a Level 3 Qualified Hydrotherapist with Level 4 Qualifications in Canine Gait Analysis and Behaviour with 6+years experience in Small Animal Hydrotherapy, aiming to provide the best possible care for your dogs, and give support to the owners.

I am so excited to be announcing I will be carrying out some Hydrotherapy and PEMF Treatments at Doggy Paddle Norwich, and appointments will be starting as of the 3rd July 2022. 😁🎊
